Currency
Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).
Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.
There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:
• banks
• travel agents
• Post Offices
• airports
• major train stations.
It's worth shopping around to get the best deal and remember to ask how much commission is charged.

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

Big News - 'Britain in the Fifties' exhibition
7th July 2016. A nostalgic exhibition is on its way to the West Midlands this weekend at Warwickshire's Compton Verney Art Gallery.
'Britain in the Fifties: Design and Aspiration' turns back the clock to an era where Britain was recovering from the shock of the Second World War. It follows the lives of an average British middle-class couple showing how design would have influenced things when it came to marriage, buying a house and going on holiday.
From the child-sized Royal Caravan played in by Prince Charles and Princess Anne - to paintings, posters and textiles by Enid Marx, the exhibition features more than 150 objects. Roshni Patel reports.
