NOTE: The Red Funnel ferry sails from Southampton, not Portsmouth, as mentioned in the video.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Isle of Wight. It's somewhere we'll be back to.
There are lots of activities to do on the island. The family surfing lesson was one of my favourites, even though I didn't manage to stand up on the board!
There are lots of walks and cycle routes across the island too. If you are planning on going walking there, then google the Isle of Wight Walking Festival. Even if you don't make the festival, I understand they publish different routes to walk.

Whistle stop tour of the Isle of Wight with the kids. We stayed at the amazing Albert Cottage Hotel in Cowes. We also visited West Wight Alpacas in Yarmouth and spent some time in the Botanical gardens of Ventnor, and travelled explored some of the south coastline.

You find a dark tunnel and steps leading down & down, and then stumble across a party of people being shown around who proceed to blind you with torches!
Thanks to the Guided tour chap who's patience I constantly tested, and the good team of volunteers who are slowly uncovering and cleaning out this fort bit by bit.

Isle of Wight: Fossil Hunting for British Dinosaurs & others
I went to the Isle of Wight for a week to go fossil hunting in different locations. While I went to many locations representing different geological ages, the aim was to find British dinosaur fossils!
P.s. The early Oligocene is 33 million years, not 40 million. My bad!
