1. HMS Warrior 1860 Portsmouth
HMS Warrior is a 40-gun steam-powered armoured frigate built for the Royal Navy in 1859–1861. She was the name ship of the Warrior-class ironclads. Warrior and her sister ship HMS Black Prince were the first armour-plated, iron-hulled warships, and were built in response to France's launching in 1859 of the first ocean-going ironclad warship, the wooden-hulled Gloire. Warrior conducted a publicity tour of Great Britain in 1863 and spent her active career with the Channel Squadron. Obsolescent following the 1871 launching of the mastless and more capable HMS Devastation, she was placed in reserve in 1875, and was paid off – decommissioned – in 1883. Portsdown Hill is a long chalk ridge in Hampshire, England. The highest point of the hill lies within Fort Southwick at 131m above sea level. The ridge offers good views to the south over Portsmouth, the Solent, Hayling Island and Gosport, with the Isle of Wight beyond. Portsmouth is a port city in Hampshire, England, mainly on Portsea Island, 70 miles (110 km) south-west of London and 19 miles (31 km) south-east of Southampton. The city of Portsmouth forms part of the South Hampshire built-up area, which also covers Southampton and the towns of Havant, Waterlooville, Eastleigh, Fareham, and Gosport.

The port is the second busiest in the United Kingdom after Dover, handling around three million passengers a year. The city formerly had its own airport, Portsmouth Airport, until its closure in 1973. The University of Portsmouth enrols 23,000 students and is ranked among the world's best modern universities. Best Places to Visit in PORTSMOUTH | New Hampshire (2018)

Day 1 of my road trip in New Hampshire started off with exploring the best places to visit in Portsmouth NH and the nearby Atlantic coast.

The day started off with a trip to the Strawbery Banke Museum (see video) and after I took a bit of time to explore the colonial town and it's famous brick urban buildings.

A huge rainstorm did no stop me from heading off to nearby New Castle Island to see the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. Did not quite make it up close but I witnessed the most epic rainbow ever.

Finally, the sky cleared up and the sun came back out. Perfect time to hit the road along the Atlantic coast. A stop at Periwinkle Cove is a must to admire Rock Sculpture point.

And I finished off the day with a dip in the ocean at Wallis Sands State Beach.
