Scenery includes: lovely field, hillside, woodland and coastal views around the eastern corner of Anglesey; Aberlleiniog Castle surrounded by beautiful woodland; Aberlleiniog Castle, St Cawrdaf Llangoe church plus the tiny medieval church of St Michael nestled on the eastern slope below Bwrdd Arthur hill fort; ; lovely coutryside villages, dwellings and farm buildings; a lovely coastline view with a shingle beack, sloping rocky cliffs and Puffin Island offshore; panoramic view from the summit of Bwrdd Arthur to the coast and across to mainland Wales and the Snowdonian mountains. Llangoed, Fedw Fawr, Bwrdd Arthur Walk was about 7.75 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination of field, hillside and woodland paths; plus some tracks and lanes. The walking was easy on level ground or gentle slopes. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Beating the Bounds Beaumaris Part 3 of 3: getting wet around Llangoed

Unusual community walk that takes place only once every 7 years, to assert the boundaries of the town of Beaumaris (Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, UK). Involves a number of traditions and ceremonies involving the Mayor and others. This film is presented as the Mayor's story, but the cast involves over 400 people. Many thanks to the organisers of the day and the cooperation and support of the Mayor and Town Council.

Bwrdd Arthur Country & Coast Walk - Nature Pictures with Relaxing Music, Anglesey, Wales, UK
Enjoy some relaxing music with 30 scenic photographs taken on a relaxing country and coast walk around Bwrdd Arthur, Anglesey, Wales, UK. On this lovely, varied walk around the eastern corner of Anglesey you start with a path through the local nature reserve of Llangoed to explore Aberlleiniog Castle. This castle was a Norman motte and bailey fortress where the Welsh won a battle In 1094. The route then visits the cliffs of Fedw Fawr, well known for wild flowers and seabirds before rising to the summit of Bwrdd Arthur, an Iron Age hillfort with panoramic views.

Dinas Brân LLANGOLLEN CASTELL.flv
Dinas Brân is in what was once the ancient Kingdom of Powys. The last Prince of Powys Gruffydd Maelor died in 1191 and the kingdom was divided into Powys Fadog in the north and Powys Wenwynwyn in the south. His son, Madog ap Gruffydd Maelor was lord of Powys Fadog and founded the nearby Valle Crucis Abbey. Although no archaeological evidence has been found some records suggest he ruled from Dinas Brân. If a structure did exist it would have been a wooden fortification probably consisting of a wooden palisade surrounding a hall and other buildings. These early records further say it was destroyed by fire and then the new castle was built on the same site, therefore little prospect for finding any archaeological evidence of the early building remains. An even earlier structure has been suggested, belonging to Elisedd ap Gwylog from the 8th century (Ried 1973). It was this Elisedd who was responsible for the Pillar of Eliseg and is one of the founders of the kingdom of Powys, but again no physical evidence for any structure at Dinas Brân has been found.(Kightly, 2003)

In another of my obscure landscape photography locations, I visit White Beach, near Penmon on Anglesey. This time I'm also shooting rocks for the monthly Facebook Group challenge at Landscape Photography on YouTube UK:

A flat grey day is no problem for this sort of thing, and the solitude and calm weather make for a magical day out.

Lenses: Nikkor 18 - 140mm, Tokina 11 - 16mm ATX Pro, Sigma 70 - 300mm.
Filmed on Hawkeye Firefly 8S, with external lavalier mic and DJI Spark drone.
