Abraão é a ´porta de entrada da Ilha Grande, é como se fosse a capital do paraíso.
É o local da ilha com maior estrutura de suporte ao turista. Lojas, restaurantes, operadoras de turismo, passeios de barco, trilhas, guias, eventos, tudo isso você consegue achar com maior facilidade no Abraão. No Abraão também há postinho médico, posto da polícia e Defesa Civil.
De Abraão há opções para diversas trilhas como para Lopes Mendes, Dois Rios, Cachoeira da Feiticeira, Pico do Papagaio e outros.
É possível contratar guias e fazer diversos passeios de barco, como para a Lagoa Azul.
A vila tem aproximadamente 4 mil habitantes e seu acesso é por barco, que saem geralmente de Angra dos Reis, Mangaratiba e Conceição de Jacareí, esta última localidade é o ponto mais próximo do continente e há mais opções de saída de barcos para a ilha. Todos estes locais tem opções de estacionamento para quem vai de carro.
Embora tenha a melhor infraestrutura de toda a Ilha Grande, em Abraão não há bancos. A grande maioria dos estabelecimentos comerciais aceitam cartões de crédito e débito, mas sempre é bom levar dinheiro extra.
Próximo ao Abraão há diversas belas praias como o circuito até Abraãozinho que passa pelas praias da Julia, Biquinha e Crena.
No lado esquerdo fica a praia Preta, que abriga as antigas ruínas do Lazareto e o poção do Aqueduto, que é uma piscina de água doce, lípida, muito convidativa ao banho.
Com certeza vale muito a pena ir passar pelo menos um fim de semana em Abraão, em seus campings ou pousadas para todos os gostos e bolsos.

First Day in Ilha Grande, Brazil - Around Abraão Village and Making a Caipirinha at the Resort
After about a 2 hour drive from Rio and another 45 minute boat ride, we've arrived on the island paradise of Ilha Grande - in English, literally Big Island. This island is paradise defined - secluded, quiet, beautiful beaches with clear, warm water, all backed by amazing mountains with rain forest scenery.
These clips were all taken the first day - we start off in the village of Abraão, or Abraham, and continue toward Black Beach, named for the volcanic ash sand seen on the small, rocky yet beautiful beach. Afterward, we head back to our resort and sit on the balcony taking in this view - en route we picked up supplies to make our own caipirinhas!

We had awesome days in Ilha Grande, Rio de Janeiro Brazil. We rented some surfboards and went surfing, we have been scuba diving and seen thousands of fishes. We dived with corals at the reefs and touched sea turtles. We have been capturing the best shots of wonderful beaches with our DJI Drone, went through the jungle and spotted monkeys. It was the perfect paradise!

The car-free island is full of lush vegetation and surrounded by 86 beautiful beaches. The interior of the island or the surrounding beaches can be explored by boat or small trails. For most of the visitors the starting point is the island capital of Vila do Abraão.
