See what I got up to in Auckland! I had a quick 48 hour trip to Auckland, New Zealand last November, which was my fall to spring escape from my native Northern Hemisphere. I had just two days to walk, eat, and experience all that I could before heading off to Wellington. For this portion of the trip I was solo. If you're new to my channel, I actually travel solo quite a bit!
I did visit Auckland in the heart of spring, where the weather can be a bit temperamental. I experienced extreme wind, rain, hail, and blazing hot sunshine, so some of my tours and plans got cut shot due to the elements. I still had an amazing time trying all of the wonderful restaurants shared in the vlog. On my next visit to AKL, I definitely want to make a day trip to Waiheke Island.

TOUR OF ALBERT PARK | AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND
Today i wanted to give you guys a walking tour of Albert Park, here in downtown Auckland | New Zealand.
Albert Park is a public park in central Auckland, bounded by Wellesley Street East, Princes Street, Bowen Avenue and Kitchener Street. From the entrance at the corner of Bowen Ave and Kitchener St, sealed footpaths climb steeply through native trees to the large flat area at the summit, where a formal layout of paths and flower gardens encircle a fountain.
Albert Park occupies much of the site of the Albert Barracks, one of Auckland's early European military fortifications, which in turn was built on the previous site of Te Horotiu pa. The barracks consisted of a number of wooden and masonry structures standing in an enclosed area surrounded by a rock fortification built of the local volcanic stone. A portion of this wall remains visible in the adjacent University of Auckland grounds, and is registered by Heritage New Zealand as a Category I historic place.
After wandering around Albert Park and down Queen Street i headed back to my friend Tims place to try a new Indian restaurant around the corner in Mt Eden then we discussed our top five countries we want to visit but haven't been to yet.
Hope you guys are loving the Auckland videos I'm having an absolute blast here! More Auckland adventures to come! :)

More information about Albert Park from Wikipedia:
The Park was laid out in the 1880s and originally had commanding views over the city and harbour. The view now is of modern office blocks, except where mature trees have hidden the buildings. The Park contains a number of interesting specimen trees dating from the 1880s to the first World War.
A caretaker's residence was provided which still stands on the eastern side of the part adjacent to Princes Street. After 1906 this Gothic-styled cottage was occupied by the City Park Superintendent Thomas Pearson, who died here in 1931. It is currently occupied by a Clock Museum.
The design of the park was the result of a public competition and follows a formal layout with a main north-south axis. To the north of the axis is the bronze statue of Queen Victoria (1897); to the south is a bandstand (James Slator 1901). Between them is a large cast iron fountain imported from Great Britain in 1881 which forms the centre piece of the park.
The fountain is distinguished by statues of dolphins ridden by cherubs blowing horns which spout water. The fountain is surmounted by a generic female figure which also has a horn spouting water.
The statue of Queen Victoria was one of several similar sculptures installed by municipal authorities throughout the British Empire following the monarch Diamond Jubilee in 1897. This sculpture was cast in London and unveiled with considerable ceremony here as part of the Jubilee celebrations.
The red granite pedestal is intact but the ensemble originally included a massive cast iron ornamental fence which has been removed.

Touring HOBBITON & Tauranga, NZ - CRUISE Part 4 // Ovation of the Seas
Going to tour Hobbiton during our port visit in Tauranga, New Zealand!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Hey guys! It's Abbey!
In this video, we go on our only excursion we booked with the ship - to go see Hobbiton! If you don’t know, Hobbiton is where parts of The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed! Our visit was just as magical as seeing it in the movies, and to my surprise, it was an absolute oasis out in the middle of some farmland. The forces perspective tricks used in creating the set were really interesting. Larger hobbit holes were used in scenes with the hobbits in order to make them look smaller, while the small hobbit holes were used in scenes with Gandalf in order to make him look like the towering wizard he is! After our tour, we visited The Green Dragon Inn to cool down before heading to the gift shop. After that, we headed back to our ship and had an impromptu tour of Tauranga’s beach from our lovely bus driver. Such an awesome visit!
Enjoy!

New Zealand volcano – Rescue helicopter lands on White Island after huge eruption hits tourist area
A DEADLY volcanic eruption in New Zealand is expected to claim the lives of up to a further 30 victims.
The majority of the wounded suffer horrific burns to over 70 per cent of their bodies, while many also suffered life-threatening ash inhalation.
The disaster yesterday has so far claimed the lives of six people.
A further eight people are still missing and feared dead as officials warn there are no signs of life left on the island.
And those who did manage to escape suffered horrific burns.
Dr Peter Watson, clinical director at Counties Manukau District Health Board, said of the 31 people injured, 27 were left with burns on more than 71 per cent of their bodies – when survival rates plummet.
New Zealander Geoff Hopkins, 50, was on the tour boat with his 22-year-old daughter, Lillani when they witnessed the horrific scene.
There were 23 people that had their lives in our hands
Lillani HopkinsWitness
Having returned to the boat early, he watched and helped the victims who were brought back along with his daughter.
The pair had been standing at the edge of the crater just 30 minutes before the eruption - and were luckily both trained in first aid.
At first they thought they were lucky to see the eruption up close, but say things took a sinister turn as visitors began running into the sea, desperately trying to escape and soothe their burns.
Lillani told Stuff: There were 23 people that had their lives in our hands.
Geoff added: One of the crew came [below deck] and said 'is anyone a doctor, is anyone a first aider, we need help'. The crew were in shock. They said 'we've got multiple burn victims and we need help'.
I've never seen burns like it. It was horrific. The people just kept coming and coming.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said reconnaissance flights showed no signs of life on White Island, as eyewitnesses detailed the horrific burns suffered by some survivors.
The scale of this tragedy is devastating, Ardern said.
Ardern said tourists from Australia, the United States, Britain, China and Malaysia were among the dead, missing and injured, along with New Zealanders. She has said there would be a government inquiry into the incident.

New Zealand Movie South Island Trip 2017
Thank you for watching!
This is my first video on YouTube capturing our journey to New Zealand-South Island in 9 days with AAT Kings. By creating this video, I would like to share the beauty and spectacular view of NZ. All videos are recorded by my Samsung S7 smartphone.
Most of Soundtracks come from Moana Disney Movie, since Māori are the indigenous people of New Zealand, and part of Polynesian descendant. Having the same root as Polynesian, I felt Moana soundtracks would be appropriate for this New Zealand trip movie as Māori make up 14% of NZ population and their history, language and traditions are central to New Zealand’s identity.
