Paddington Great British Spring Clean 2018
Paddington’s first ever Great British Spring Clean took place on Friday 23 March with an incredible turnout from over 200 local employees, representatives of community groups and residents, who between them filled 120 bags with litter from the towpath and canal.
The Paddington Partnership worked in collaboration with the Canal & River Trust to organise the day of community action, as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s nationwide Great British Spring Clean campaign. Supported by GoBoat London and Active360, volunteers spent time on board boats and in canoes; picking up litter from the canal and canal bed. Between them the volunteers travelled over 35 miles along the Grand Union Canal between Paddington Basin and Little Venice.
In addition to the hundreds of plastic bottles, wrappers and bags removed from the waterway, were some more unusual items. A string of raw, rotting sausages, a rather expensive looking lady's handbag, several pairs of shoes, a plastic garden table and a 'work in progress' building sign being amongst some of the more surprising finds.
With thanks to all the companies, charities and residents who supported Paddington’s first Great British Spring Clean: Active 360, Canal & River Trust, Defra, Dhruv Boruah, GoBoat London, Heathrow Express, Keep Britain Tidy, Laing O’Rourke, Local residents, Lockhouse London, Lord Mayor of Westminster, Marks & Spencer, Merchant Square, Mitsubishi, Paddington Central, Pursuing Independent Paths, Visa and Willmott Dixon.

Miss Carli Jay - Stand Up Paddle-boarding just outside of London (Drone footage)
You can take the girl out of Australia but you can't take the Australian out of the girl!!
I live just half an hour outside of London and I hear so many Brits always complaining about the weather and what there is to do in the summer here... But when you think outside the box anything is possible.
People always ask me as an Aussie how can I stand living in a climate like England's, but you know what I love it!
Im all about the healthy lifestyle and this doesn't just mean hitting the gym everyday, I always embrace my surroundings and what places have to offer - so stand up paddle boarding was a must for me, on The River Thames in Walton, Surrey.
It is so much fun, not as hard as one might think, and the most relaxing sport I've ever done! This is my peace and serenity!
Thanks for watching, please do give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it!!

Stand Up Paddle - The Great Stour River In Kent - Fordwich to Ramsgate
My brother Alex Chater and I dreamed up a crazy idea to paddleboard the Great Stour River in Kent. We planned the route, worked out what we thought would be the best tides and looked for a weather window. When we saw an opportunity we went for it.
We had no idea how it would be but we planned on it taking around seven hours and for us to be paddling against the tide for a couple of hours. As it turned out we were spot on, paddling against a flooding tide from Grove Ferry and beyond Plucks Gutter for two hours and completing the paddle in 6hrs and 50mins.
We didn't bank on aggressive swans, evil horse flies that drew blood and just how long almost seven hours of paddling would be!
Getting ready for the next mission now! Thanks to F-One for the paddleboards!

EIGO Levanter Black Windproof Thermal Lined Cycling Jacket
Levanter windproof cycling jacket offers excellent wind-chill defence and insulation for cold wintery rides. Windproof outer shell blocks wind, full length storm zip seals drafts, brushed lining provides warmth and Roubaix panel inserts give a great fit. Brushed polyester lining, or Roubaix as it's also known, acts just like animal fur and traps heat inside the jacket to keep warmth in. There are also pure Roubaix panels on the body sides and under arm panels; these non-windproof panels provide stretch to give you a great fit, and also breathable panels for temperature regulation. Three large rear cargo pockets provide plenty of storage for supplies and spares, and there is a fourth zipped rear pocket ideal for keys, change or credit cards. There is also a zipped chest Napoleon pocket for keeping phones etc handy.
