Cape Town City tour by African Eagle
To get a taste of the thriving centre of the Mother City, a Cape Town city tour is not to be missed. Situated in the middle of Cape Town, the city lies in the shelter of Table Mountain. Here you will find a number of the Cape's top attractions, from the imposing Castle of Good Hope to the colourful cottages of the Bo Kaap, the bustling Green Market Square, South African Museum and beautiful Company Gardens and plenty more besides. With an experienced and knowledgeable guide, and from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, you will be able to learn more about the Cape Town CBD and its surrounds, in a city tour that is sure to leave you with plenty of memories and photographs of this part of the Cape. Some interesting facts about the city can be learned on this Cape Town tour, including the following:
• The Castle of Good Hope, which stands proudly on the outskirts of the CBD, was built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The Castle was developed as a maritime replenishment station, and from 1678 it was the centre of civilian, administrative and military life at the Cape until the area grew and operations expanded elsewhere. Today, the Castle is the seat of the military in the Cape, and is open for visitors to explore and learn more about its history.
• Tucked under the slopes of Signal Hill, the Bo Kaap is a fascinating and vibrant area that was somehow bypassed in the forced removals of the Apartheid. Also called the Malay Quarter, this area is characterised by its multi-coloured cottages and steep cobbled streets, as well as its exotic Malay culture. No tours in Cape Town would be complete without a visit to the Bo Kaap!
• For those who enjoy a sense of history, the South African Museum offers a look at life throughout the ages in South Africa. Many exhibits can be found here, and there is also a Planetarium situated within the building. The museum is situated in the Company Gardens, which holds the Seat of Parliament. Pristine lawns, shady paths, ornate fish ponds, statues of past leaders and plenty of curious squirrels are just part of the Company Gardens' charm.
Other highlights that you can enjoy on a Cape city tour include a stop past the famous Blue Flag beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. These beaches lie along the Atlantic Seaboard, which stretches from the Waterfront all the way through to Hout Bay along the Atlantic coast. Situated just a few minutes away from the CBD, the beaches are ideal for sunbathing and water sports (even if the water is somewhat chilly). All of this and so much more can be enjoyed on these memorable Cape Town city tours.

South Africa - Capetown Township Langa
Projects are in progress to improve the lives of inhabitants of South African townships, but many people are still living in very basic conditions and desperately wait for housing improvement.
We visited Langa, a township of Cape Town. We saw the houses that were built for harbor laborers where three families now live in one small room, sheds, a shabeen with self-brewed beer, but also a school, new built and refurbished housing, the small museum and the community center that runs projects to help young artisans to develop their skills.
Cape Town was visited at the end of our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa.
WELCOME to CAPE TOWN - CITY CENTRE TOUR ???????? - 2019 vlog
You've seen the views of Table Mountain and the beaches, but what about Cape Town's City Centre? In this vlog, we are traveling to Cape Town's City Centre to uncover the highlights of the city.
We travel to the oldest building, the Castle of Good Hope, built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company. We also visit the High Court Civil Annex, which has benches which are remnants of the apartheid.
We also visit the colorful Malay region of Bo Kaap where the houses come in every single color imaginable.
Lastly we cross the peninsula 30 minutes away to Muizenberg, a beach-side suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. The beach is famous for its colorful beach huts.

Cape Town Victoria and Alfred Waterfront
In this video we take you around Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, one of the more scenic and lively areas of Cape Town. Unfortunately, given our lack of time in the city, we didn't have a chance to visit Table Mountain or other main attractions nearby. However, we did have the opportunity to stroll around the waterfront area people watching, eating at restaurants and listening to live music music and other forms of entertainment (including pirates fighting on a pirate ship). Overall, it was a nice way for us to end our adventures in South Africa.

Cape Town Victoria and Alfred Waterfront Travel Video Transcript:
So Hello, from Cape Town. We have finally arrived in the city and this is the final stop of our three week adventure here in South Africa. This is actually our first day exploring the city and thankfully we have blue skies so we're trying to see as much as we can. And yeah, we're just going to take you on a little tour.
So now that we're near the end of the trip I'm kind of reflecting on what I might have done differently. And definitely something that I'm a little bit disappointed is that we didn't spend more time in Cape Town. I know we just got here but I'm absolutely loving it. It is so gorgeous. The scenery is amazing. And I wish we had a few more days to explore.
This is part of our Travel in South Africa series. We're making a series of videos showcasing South African culture, South African arts, South African foods, South African religion, South African cuisine and South African people.

West Coast Flower Tour - Cape Town to Graafwater - Day One
On Friday, August 18, Ceres Rail Company departed Unity yard in Cape Town for their first annual West Coast Flower Tour. For two months every year, the South African west coast erupts with wild daisies an occurrence that attracts visitors from far and wide.
The train consisted of South African Class 19D, number 3322 with one X-17 auxiliary water tanker and seven restored coaches.
Day one saw the train travelling from Cape Town to Graafwater. Graafwater is a tiny town in the Sandveld situated 300 km North of Cape Town. Initially established by the railways as a servicing and goods facility the town later saw further development at the hands of the local Dutch Reformed Church. In recent decades the withdrawal of the railways and decline in the local economy has led to a serious decline in the region.
On Day two the train traveled from Graafwater to Klawer where the locomotive and coaches were turned on the wye in the Transnet Depot while passengers got transported by bus to see the flowers.
They returned to Graafwater later the same day. Day three saw the train returning to Cape Town with a water and fuel stop at Moorreesburg. I did not film day two, but returned on day three, picking up the chase on the outskirts of Eendekuil.
Ceres Rail Company can be contacted at or via their Facebook account.

Day one of the Duke and Duchess's tour of Cape Town
(23 Sep 2019) Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, began their first official tour as a family Monday with their infant son, Archie, in South Africa, with Meghan declaring to cheers that I am here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of color and as your sister.
The first day of their 10-day, multi-country tour started in Cape Town with visits to girls' empowerment projects that teach rights and self-defense. Harry danced a bit as a musical welcome greeted them in the township of Nyanga, whose location was not made public in advance because of security concerns.
The couple had travelled to the area a few miles (kilometres) out of the city centre to learn about the work the Justice Desk, a human rights organisation, is doing to support the development of Nyanga township children.
The organisation is supported by the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, which has Harry as its president and Meghan as vice-president.
Violent crime is so deadly in parts of Cape Town that South Africa's military has been deployed in the city, and its stay was extended last week. Frustration over high unemployment and lack of services also has exploded into protests and attacks on foreigners elsewhere in South Africa in recent weeks.
As someone who has visited this amazing country many times, and as someone who regards Cape Town as a uniquely special place in Africa, I wanted to ensure that our first visit as a family - with my wife by my side - focused on the significant challenges facing millions of South Africans, while acknowledging the hope that we feel so strongly here, the prince said.
The royal couple also was meeting Monday with former residents of District Six, a vibrant mixed-race community that was relocated from the inner city during South Africa's harsh period of apartheid, or white minority rule, that ended in 1994.
Their visit also will focus on wildlife protection, entrepreneurship, mental health and mine clearance - a topic given global attention by Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, when she walked through an active mine field during an Africa visit years ago.
Harry later this week will break away for visits to Botswana, Angola and Malawi.
While the royal visit wasn't causing the kind of excitement seen at times in other parts of the Commonwealth, some in South Africa said they were happy to see the arrival of Meghan, who has been vocal about women's rights.
Prince Harry said he wanted the trip to highlight the challenges many South Africans face.
We are so incredibly grateful to be able to listen and learn from you about the issues that define your daily lives in these communities, he told the audience at Nyanga.

Cape Peninsula Tour by Sidecar | South Africa Travel Vlog
Come join us as we explore the Cape Peninsula by sidecar tour with Cape Sidecar Adventures ( as a day trip from Cape Town, South Africa in our latest travel vlog. Our guide Bradley was awesome and our first order of business was to put on leather jackets, a helmet with cool goggles and a bandana. We took turns riding in the sidecar and on the back of the motorcycle as we visited Muizenberg, Simon's Town, Shark Spotters, Boulders Beach (to visit a penguin colony), Cape Point, The Cape of Good Hope, Chapman's Peak and Camps Bay just to name a few. Overall, it was an awesome outing and something we highly recommend for anybody visiting Cape Town or Stellenbosch.

Cape Peninsula Tour by Sidecar | South Africa Travel Vlog video transcript:
Well good morning good morning. It is a beautiful day here in Cape Town. And today we're going on an excursion. We're going to be traveling down to the Cape Peninsula. But this just isn't any regular tour. We are going in sidecars. Yeah. Sidecars.
So confession time. We actually did a sidecar tour when we were in Stellenbosch last week but it was a taster. It was a very short tour. This time around it is a full day thing. All day.
Yeah, I'd say this is a better fit. So we're just suiting up here. So I'm putting it on the leather jacket and next up is the bandana.
That fits good doesn't it Audrey? Double jackets. Looking good. It is winter here in Cape Town so biker gal.
And the coolest thing I have to say about this helmet is just the sunglasses. They are kind of like sunglass goggles.
So for now you can take this down but if you need it when you're on the bike if you're behind another car or fumes or a lot of wind in your face just pop it up.
I'm going to make bikers out of you today. Bradley is going to make a biker out of us.
Okay, first stop on the tour. First stop of the day. So we're basically overlooking Muizenberg here. Yeah. And we've got some incredible views. Like way off in the distance you can see some mist and we've just got like yeah such a nice day. This time of year it should be like cold and rainy but we've really lucked out.
So our next stop here is at the Shark Spotters and this guy is actually looking for sharks down in the water because there is a whole bunch of surfers down there.
So we made it to the Cape of Good Hope so we're paying our fee. It is a 135 Rand per person.
Sammy boy. You've been riding in the sidecar all along. How are you enjoying it? It has been so cool.
So we made it to the Cape of Good Hope and this is the South-Western most point on the African continent. There is this big sign where you can have your photo taken.
We're egging Sam on to see how close he can get to the ostrich.
So we grabbed a snack. Spicy beef biltong and we've also ordered pizzas. And we love our biltong. Let's start with biltong.
And for those who have never tried Biltong it is basically like the South African style of jerky.
I've seen signs here for baboons. Apparently they roam around and they like to steal your food.
Alright, time for the big unveil. We ordered pizza. The Napolitan.
This one has avocado, bacon and feta.
The update is we are out of breath but enjoying the views from the top. Oh, come on. It wasn't that hard of a climb. If we come here a 3rd time I'm taking the funicular.
Next up we have made it to Boulders Beach where the main attraction is penguins, penguins and more penguins. There is a colony of penguins here and we're going to go check it out.
So time for an update. We are currently driving Chapman's Peak and I think this is probably the most beautiful part of the drive so far today. The scenery is just stunning and the color of the water it is like turquoise and blue and green. I know. And the sun is out. And it is just incredible and that is saying a lot because most of the scenery on this drive today has been really incredible but this just takes the cake and then the icing on top with the cherry. Oh, it has got everything.
This is part of our Travel in South Africa video series showcasing South African food, South African culture and South African cuisine.

Cape Town | Part 1 | Penguins, Lions Head And Squirrels | South African Travel Diaries
So we took a little bit of a trip on the other side of the country to the beautiful Cape Town. I'm honest and vlogging isn't one of my greatest skills, BUT! I do think that I got some decent footage for you guys from out first 3 days in Cape Town. We went all over the place doing some real touristy things but we loved every second if it. From penguins to squirrels we experienced only just a small taste of what the city has to offer.
Let me know what you think about the edits (I'm actually proud of the one on lions head)
