Raul Manzano discovers the wonders of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat | EIC On The Move Season 2
Raul wraps up the season in Siem Reap, where ruins of the old Khmer capital in Angkor Wat still stand. He’s hosted by the Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor which has been operating since 1932.
Thanks to the hotel’s curated tours, Raul gets to explore the thriving contemporary art and design scene in Siem Reap as well as take some traditional Khmer cooking classes. He ends the season on a high note, with a hike and a meal atop Kulen Mountain, one of Cambodia’s most venerated spaces.

Artisans D'Angkor Tour and Phare Cambodian Circus in Siem Reap Cambodia with Club Adventures
Our visit to Artisans DAngkor was a pleasant surprise. Not on our itinerary, we asked to be taken somewhere to do a bit of shopping. Instead of taking us to a generic souvenir spot, our guide brought us here. Authentic, local, and inexpensive. Highly recommended. We also got a chance to check out the Phare Cambodia Circus which was an experience to remember.
Club Adventures is a small group travel company powered by AAA. They believe in creating unscripted travel moments and utilize local guides to give each tour a local perspective. Here is the tour that I did if you want to check it out!:

Visit Marigold Flower Plantation in Siem Reap province - Agri Tourism in Cambodia
We heard about Marigold flower plantation from friends and from facebook at Siem Reap province. We really wanted to see how beautiful it is as we already visited Marigold flower field at Pailin province which is so beautiful. The location they told is that this plantation is at Pouk district behind Norodom Ranarith primary school. We asked people around and found this flower plantation. We really sorry when we got there as it's not a big plantation like in Pailin province. The plantation at Siem Reap is just a small place, preparing marigold flower in the pots and put them on the trellis. There's also sunflower but not a lot. Some people who visited this place said that there're more people than the flower. How's that. Let's enjoy the video and you know what i'm saying. It's called agri-tourism as they grow these flowers for sale but open for public to visit and take 1000riel each. It's a good business.

Why Angkor Wat (Siem Reap) is a must see | CAMBODIA
Another one of our life bucket list stops the Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Needless to say we had an absolutely incredible time visiting the Khmer Hindu and Buddhist temple ruins.
Things started off in Phnom Penh where we caught the Cambodia Post VIP Van for $11 USD each to get to Siem Reap. This is the site we booked our Cambodia Post VIP Van tickets from:
They have a variety of routes and departure times. We found Cambodia Post VIP Van to be a pretty cheap and convenient way getting from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, then using a tuk tuk for the remainder of our journey to get to our accommodation.
The ride from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap via Cambodia Post VIP Van took about 3 hours in total including a quick lunch stop and there were tuk tuks waiting around for us to get to our final destination (our Airbnb accommodation in Siem Reap) that ended up being just a few minutes drive away.
Our accommodation in Siem Reap was an urban studio located in the peaceful Kandal Village. The place was clean, stylish and comfortable. It's situated above Khmer 652 - a Cambodian restaurant that serves very delicious Khmer cuisine with super lovely staff. There are a handful of other cafes and restaurants nearby as well as local craft shops too.
Khmer 652 is owned by the Airbnb hosts so you also get a 10% discount for dining there. Our favourite meals during our time in Siem Reap were at Khmer 652 as well as Crane just at the back of their alley. We loved the location of our accommodation in Siem Reap because it's also in close walking distance to a supermarket, the river bank and the very lively Pub Street.
After a quick haircut and a browse around Kandal Village we got some rest before heading over to the Angkor Wat temple complex the next day. We opted to get a personal tour guide which turned out to be one of the best decisions ever.
Sarak was our tuk tuk driver and Angkor Wat travel guide, recommended to us from a fellow YouTuber friend. Sarak took us all around the amazing temples in the Angkor Wat temple complex, visiting the lesser-known and secret quiet areas (as well as the main temples too). He even took it upon himself to help us take some beautiful photos with our phone during our entire time together too. He was a driver, travel guide and photographer all in one!
Get in touch with Sarak:
meamsarak@gmail.com
+855 92 394 994
If you're wondering how to get to Angkor Wat, we definitely recommend going via tuk tuk with Sarak to enjoy the open air ride and if you want to go to the quieter spots like we did, simply let him know.
We bought a 3-day multi-pass to visit the Angkor Wat temple complex. First day we had Sarak and on our subsequent visits we had Mr Bean (Sarak's business partner) take us when we filmed Peter's Part 2 for his how to retire early series and on the final visit we went via Grab tuk tuk ourselves just to Angkor Wat. We were in Siem Reap visiting Angkor Wat during November. Btw, make sure to keep your Angkor Wat tickets with you as this gets checked at various entry points into the temple complex.
We visited the following temples:
- West Gate
- Angkor Thom
- Preah Khan
- Ta Prohm (also known as the Tomb Raider temple)
- Bayon (and then finally...)
- Angkor Wat
We also enjoyed a breath taking sunset away from the crowds at Srah Sang.

Sunrise At Angkor Wat Temple | Tourist Attraction in Siem Reap Cambodia
It's my first time to see sunrise at Angkor wat temple in Siem Reap province in Cambodia. We have to get up at 4am traveling to the temple. The road is not quiet as there are people, especially tourists going to see the Sunrise every morning. We got there at around 4:30am, the sky is still dark and not so many tourists yet. There are more and more tourists come and crowded at around 5:45am. I was there in front of Angkor Wat temple at a small pond on the right of the temple walk way. I thought that only these amount of people at the right pond but i walked to the left pond after that. OMG!!! tourists are crowded on the left pond. The sun was not rising well that morning as it's overcast but it was great to see lots of tourists coming. Bravo Cambodia!!! Bravo Angkor Wat temple!!

Travel to Siem Reap for Agri Tourism Festival - Road trip in Cambodia
We traveled from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap province back in January 2017 to see the Agri Tourism Festival which celebrated at Kontrork village, Sangkat Sambour, Krong Siem Reap, Siem Reap province. This location is about 6km from Siem Reap downtown which we can get there on a small dusty path (red road) along Chork pagoda. We felt disappointed to see the location which is not appropriate to the name of festival and the banner name written very bad on a pile of hay. The parking place is $4 for one Van is very expensive. We all are disappointed about the festival and poor organizing. We hope that the next year festival will be improving.

Siem Reap Floating Village - Should You Visit? ????????
This video is about the insane adventure we had experienced while exploring the Khmer life in the Cambodian countryside and floating village around Siem Reap. We roamed around the rural communities in Cambodia which are settled on the shores of Tonle Sap Lake.
Kampong Phluk is a commune and village in Siem Reap Province in northern-central Cambodia. It is a village built on stilts on the Tonle Sap. The community largely depends on fishing for survival
Siem Reap, a resort town in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. Giant, mysterious faces are carved into the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom.
