Alaska Highway (Mile 0 - Dawson Creek)
We start our Alaska Highway (Alcan Highway) from Dawson Creek and the official Mile 0, we visit the Alcan Highway House (or museum) which is well worth a stop.
Dawson Creek has everything a full-time RVer needs to stock up for the Alaska Adventure. We had a parcel coming from the USA that didn't arrive on time and the Canada Post folk in Dawson Creek were fantastic and helped get the parcel to Whitehorse in time for us.
We had a great time looking around, visiting the Historical Centre and getting a few odd jobs done.
Meet a lovely couple and followed them to the next stop and said hi again.
Start of Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek & Replaced Windshield
It's the start of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek BC, but as many of you had mentioned and recommended, I replaced my windshield after the second blow to the windshield with a large rock from an oncoming semi. That rock busted the window pretty hard and sent glass flying towards me. This Alaska road trip so far has had its challenges as I begin the Alcan Highway, but we're getting through it pushing on for this drive to Alaska in my Hymer Aktiv which is a Ram Promaster 2500 van. I did some van mods prior to going on the trip.
This is the first time I've been on an Alaska RV road trip, but I know it won't be my last. I'm learning a lot on this journey as I drive to Alaska through British Columbia and Alberta Canada.

RVing North to Alaska: Dawson Creek British Columbia at the Start of the Alaska Highway (the Alcan)
Day 5 of our journey North to Alaska we find ourselves in Dawson Creek, British Columbia after staying the night in Jasper National Park. We park at the Mile 0 Campground and book 2 nights to explore the area.
While in Dawson Creek we drive a little ways out of town to see the Historic Kishatinaw Curved Bridge, the only original wooden bridge from the original Alaska Highway still in use today, built 75 years ago. After touring the Kiskatinaw Provincial Campground next to the bridge we then head up to the Bear Mountain Wind Park, the first of its kind in British Columbia, to check our the wind turbines and the vistas off to the west and the Northern Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Finally we end the video with some still shots of the Northern Lights Stacey caught in her lens at 2am in the morning when she got up to use the restroom. This was our last chance to see the aurora borealis as its getting too light at night to see them again until Fall. What a treat for only our 5th day. (Season 2 Episode 8)

Dollar Tree in Dawson Creek on the Alaska Highway #VanLife
Shopping at the Dollar Tree in Dawson Creek on the Alaska Highway. No dollar items here! Everything is $1.25. I know. Dollar Tree haul videos aren't usually my thing. But hey, we may be on the Alaska Highway living the van life dream temporarily but a Dollar Tree is too good to pass by. You just know that Tomlin needed that dog toy as much as I needed a souvenir from Canada.

Leave everything and wander” is the result of Sara Bertagnolli’s and Luca Sguazzini’s desire to join their own skills and realize a dream: that of traveling, leaving the certainties and securities of everyday life behind.
After university Sara achieved high-level professional goals in the field of management and became the personal assistant to the fashion designer Philipp Plein.
Luca has been traveling a lot since he was a child and the last year he gained notoriety for his participation in the Italian version of “Dancing with the stars”; he has more than 138k followers on Instagram and 50k on Facebook.
They have decided to join forces and to tell a life out of the ordinary on social networks. The plan is to travel through Canada, Alaska and, in a second moment, United States, Messico and South America and to share the trip’s photos and videos on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram, giving to everyone the possibility to experience the “wander-spirit”.
Traveling without temporal or spatial limits will give Sara and Luca the possibility to entangle their story with that of people they will meet on the road and to discover new cultures, visiting also the places which are not famous, the ones which often have the biggest surprises in store.
The start-up budget will be limited in order to demonstrate that – also without great economical resources – everything is possible if you put the work in and involve as many people as possible.

Boondocking the Old Alaska Highway |North to Alaska| Winnebago Revel
Today we head to Dawson's Creek, the official start for the Alaska Highway. We run into Danika and Ian and decide to go wild camping about 15 miles down a portion of the Old Alaska Highway. We take the van offroad and try to get as far back as we can get. We saw a huge black bear and a couple of deer along the way. there is something about overlanding in this little house on the road. Another wonderful experience in the Winnebago Revel!

Day 7 since we started traveling on the Alaska Highway (or Alcan Highway).
After crossing the border between Canada and Alaska. We made a few quick stops:
The first one at the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
The second one ate the Tok Mainstreet Alaska Visitors Center or Civic Center. The beautiful log building houses also the Tok Chamber of Commerce and the Tok Library.
The third on at Delta Junction Visitor Center and at the End of the Alaska Highway monument.
Delta Junction is the official end of the Alaska Highway. When the pioneer road was built in 1942, it extended approximately 1,480 miles from the railhead at Dawson Creek, in British Columbia, to a junction with the Richardson Highway, 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks. The Richardson Highway --Alaska's first road-- was built by the Alaska Road Commission in 1910; it connected Valdez to Fairbanks. The Richardson Highway between Delta Junction and Fairbanks became an extension of the Alaska Highway in 1942, as construction crews worked south to Tok and the Alaska border, using Fairbanks as the railhead to supply men and equipment.
The fourth one at Santa Claus House, home of the Original Letter from Santa. Authentic North Pole postmark.
And the last stop, at 10:30 pm, at Fairbanks, and there is still light coming from me sky!
