Powys Arts Month Xtra - award winning filmmaker
Nonprofit; 1-10 employees; Fine Art industry
January 2008 -- February 2012 (4 years 2 months) Newbridge on Wye and on location in Mid Wales
Blue MacAskill and her husband artist and co-director of MOCA Cymru - the contemporary live arts organisation based in Mid Wales won a grant to make films in and around Newbridge on Wye on location, turning the village into Wales's mini-Hollywood for the month of October for Powys Arts Month. This project follows their hugely successful GLASU funded Live Art Performance WALKS in 2010 around Mid Wales, celebrating Art in the landscape. Called Walking With Artist: INTERACTIVE WALKING & MAKING - The walk fed live back to the website and gallery through Twitter. Walkers were encourage to update any images and works to Facebook, and my space on The Walks experimented with film documentation and live recording that recalled and re-developed for the end show on the 25th-27th June 2010. This is contemporary public art for the 21st century.
