Our Patrons were given three choices: Pictured Rocks, Boundary Waters, or here - Algonquin Provincial Park. Algonquin won, and we went up to film our first episode across international boundaries. Join us as we paddle through the lakes and rediscover the fundamentals of life, and how important they are for the body and spirit.

10 Day Wilderness Canoe Trip exploring Algonquin Park from Access Point #2 at the Tim River to Access Point #6 at Canoe Lake.

Every year I try to get out and do a larger back country canoe trip. This year I decided to spend a little extra time in Algonquin Park. I wanted to take advantage of the high water levels and paddle the Tim River which is an area that normally becomes difficult later in the season due to low water levels and beaver dams.
This wilderness canoe trip would challenge us through long days of paddling, portages, weather and wildlife encounters.
This is the second Wilderness Canoe Trip in my A Place to Paddle series.

Moose hunting adventure in Algonquin Provincial Park Canada vlog #35
Ride up to Algonquin Provincial Park
I went camping in Algonquin Park for a weekend, and used part of a GPX route I found on the internet to get there.
Some logging roads, some snowmobile trails, some gear lost along the way....
Algonquin Park Bicycle Tours
Algonquin Adventure Tours (AAT) was proud to introduce guided bicycle tours to Algonquin Provincial Park in 2014. AAT founder and bicycle aficionado, Stuart Lorne Letovsky, has biked thousands of km/miles while exploring the globe and competing in amateur MTB racing. So, it was a natural fit for us to start sharing this beautiful place by bicycle. We have a great 3.5 hour guided program that is suitable for all levels of ability. If you like bikes and nature, you will have a great day!
On our second ride we were fortunate enough to cross paths with moose, fox, bald eagle, muskrat, squirrel, rabbit, chipmunk, turtle and countless birds. I'm sure we will rarely be that fortunate, but it looks like we've chosen a great place for our biking tour!
As with all wilderness tours, animal encounters are a rather random occurrence. Some bike trips we only observed chipmunks and birds. But a skilled guides increases the chances of a memorable and safe educational adventure. On six occasions in 2014, we dined on wild berries in proximity of black bears doing the same.
