Ride To Glenridding & Beyond!-Pt 2
Welcome to Part Two of our day out in the Lake District. On this part we take a look around Glenridding and see for ourselves the amount of damaged caused by Storm Desmond last December. The resilience of the people of this village is incredible but typical of British people. I just hope the government do the right thing and actually help Cumbria with substantial money and resources needed. We hope you enjoy this walkabout. Thanks for watching. Biker Paul & Lynn!
Edit 18-1-17. This video shows Ullswater and the Hotel from above.

Settle and Carlisle Driver's eye view preview
video125.co.uk The Settle and Carlisle railway has a unique place in Britain's railway history. It was built by the Midland Railway to provide that company with it's own route to Scotland. It was never intended to make money by serving the sparsely inhabited towns en route. It was built with no expense spared therefore, not as a rural branch line but as a double track main line suitable for express running throughout. This necessitated the building of vast viaducts, tunnels, rock cuttings and embankments. The result is a spectacular route bereft of overhead wires and still much as it was at the time of construction at the end of the 19th century. Here is your chance to view this spectacular line not only from the train cab but from the air too. The iconic symbol of the S&C is the Ribblehead viaduct and we see it from the ground as well as from the air and of course from the train.

Westmorland Hotel at Tebay Services on Cumbrian Kitchen
Cumbrian Kitchen chef Jon Fell took a trip on the M6 to visit our guests on the show today - Head Chef Kristian and Food and Beverage Manager Gemma of the Westmorland Hotel. The Hotel is part of the Tebay Services and Rheged and is run with the same ethos - local produce and local suppliers. From Farm to Fork is their motto and with their own farm stock right on the doorstep Head Chef Kristian has the pick of the bunch everyday. Kristian creates two wonderful dishes and Gemma introduces us to the local beers they match with the them - Ennerdales Darkest, Tirril's Acadamy Ale, and Hawkshead's Brodies Prime. Filmed in the Coachman's Quarters at Muncaster Castle.
