View of beach obstacles which were used to block Allied landing forces on the beaches of France. United States 705th Ordnance soldiers use welding torches to cut up beach obstacles for use as hedgerow cutters. Welders attach hedgerow cutters on M5A1 light tanks. Tank is about to be tested. The hedgerow cutter design came from Sergeant Curtis G. Culin, of the 102nd Reconnaissance Squadron. Location: Balleroy France. Date: July 19, 1944.
