The beautiful Yemen
The Yemenis consider themselves the original Arabs from whom all the other Arabs are descended. Indeed according to ancient scriptures,Quran and some suggestive statements in the Talmud there is evidence of this.
In ancient Yemen, named by the ancient Romans Arabia Felix ;Happy Arabia, there were 6 principal kingdoms: the Sabaean, Awsanian, Minaean, Qatabanian, Hadhramawtian, Himyarite. Sabaean was the oldest and one of the most powerful. Saba in Hebrew is Sheba. Thus the fabled Queen of Sheba came from Sabaean kingdom. Queens in Arabia were common, and both the Bible and Quran refer to the Queen of Sheba whose real name was Bilquis!
Sana'a, the capital, is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Throughout in Yemen, Stone Age people left evidence of their occupation from 400,000BC (Discovered in Tahama on the Red sea of Yemen). Bronze Age people from 2000BC had developed many agricultural settlements throughout the area. Foremost of these was Marib where a huge dam was built to irrigate the terraced fields found here. The Marib Dam is considered the greatest technical structure of antiquity. You may see some of the ruins of this structure which collapsed around 600AD and which is nearby to a new dam serving the same purpose today.
Among Yemens natural and cultural attractions are four World Heritage sites:
1.The Old Walled City of Shibam in Wadi Hadhramaut, inscribed by UNESCO in 1982, is nicknamed Manhattan of the Desert, because of its skyscrapers. Surrounded by a fortified wall, the city is one of the oldest and examples of urban planning based on the principle of vertical construction.
2.The ancient city of Sana'a.
Even the name itself, Sana'a has a great history. It was previously known as the city of Shem, named after Shem the son of Noah, father of all semites, who was the first to order to build the city. It has also carried the name Azal after one of the sons of Yaqtin ibn Aa'z as mentioned in the Old Testament.
While the historical accuracy of such stories might be questioned, what is certain is that history in Yemen dates from the very dawn of humankind.
Sana'a an altitude of more than 7,000 feet has been inhabited for over two and a half millennia. Sanaa has 103 mosques, 14 hammams (traditional bath houses) and more than 6,000 houses that survive all date.
3.Close to the Red Sea Coast, the Historic Town of Zabid, was Yemens capital from the 13th to 15th Century. It played an important role for many centuries, because of its UNIVERSITY , which was a centre of learning for the whole Arab world. Arabic numbers were used there first on the peninsule and Algebra is said to have been invented there in the early 8th century by the little known scholar al-Jaladi.
4.The latest addition to Yemens list of World Heritage Sites is the Socotra Archipelago. Socotra or Eipheba Sakhotora which used to mean The island of Happiness.Mentioned by Marco Polo in the 13th Century, Socotra islands and two rocky islets near the Gulf of Aden has rich biodiversity. 37% of Socotras 825 plants, 90% of its reptiles and 95% of its snails are unique and DO NOT OCCUR anywhere else in the world. It is home to 192 bird species, 253 species of coral, 730 species of costal fish and 300 species of crab and lobster, as well as a range of Aloes and the Dragons Blood Tree (Dracaena cinnabari) or as it's known in Yemen: The tree of Cain and Abel (The name of this tree has always been linked with the name of Socotra due to its fame and importance since ancient times. The island people make cracks on the trees trunk and then a viscous red fluid flows and is left till it is dried up. After that they collect it and pack it for export. It is further used as medicine and many legends have been woven around it. According to one legend the tree grew from the blood of Abel when the first human crime occurred. As the blood flowed, the tree sprang from it. )
Yemen today is still not well known by the west so there could be more of these peculiarities on this beautiful mysterious country.
(If we would have to describe the country of Yemen with one word it would might be architecture
The Quran states Yemen as the place where the wisdom takes place at. The messenger (PBUH) gestured with his hands towards Yemen and said: Wisdom (hikma) is there....)
Yemen ..The gift of God to Arabs
Yemen is Arabia's Undiscovered gem. It is a country where you can find the world's oldest skyscrapers, spectacular mountaintop villages, pristine coral reefs, and stunningly gorgeous trees unseen anywhere else on earth. You can journey through one of the world's largest expanse of sand, or marvel at greenery so lush you'd wonder if you were in Arabia.
This is a country that breaths history through every pore, not only through its ancient ruins and monuments, but also through its traditions and culture which remain a part of everyday life.
Yet so little is known about the Real Yemen, that when visitors travel across the country, it is almost always a beautiful voyage of discovery.
From the breathtaking ancient skyscrapers of Shibam to the traditional Suqs of Sana'a and the unspoiled natural beauty of Socotra, you will learn a lot about what Yemen has to offer.

Sanaa yemen
The most ancient city, yemeni culture is very unique. The Yemeni culture and traditions is the most important aspect of a Yemeni person. Sadly to say, sometimes Yemenis hold on to their traditions more than their faith.

Yemen: Protest demands lifting of air embargo on Sana'a airport
Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe
Protesters gathered outside the gates of Sana'a International Airport on Friday, to demand the lifting of the air embargo and allow passengers and patients in need of medical treatment abroad to travel.
Protesters were also seen holding banners condemning the military aggression of the Saudi led-coalition and requesting intervention from the United Nations and the international community.
The airport's full closure began in March 2015, due to a blockade enforced by Saudi Arabia, after a ballistic missile was reportedly fired from Yemen at an international airport near the Saudi capital.

Souk of Sanaa (Yemen)
Sanaa sometimes spelled Sanaa or Sana'a) is the capital of Yemen and the centre of San'a' Governorate. San'a' is located at 15.354722° N 44.20667° E and has a population of 1,747,627 (2004 census).
San'a' lies in the heart of Yemeni highlands on a plateau at an altitude of 2200m surrounded by several mountains, notably Jabal Nuqum and Aiban. The city is around 320 km north of Aden.
San'a' is one of the ancient Yemeni cities dating back to the Sabaean dynasty of the 6th Century BC. The oldest written reference to its existence is found in inscriptions which date back to the 1st Century AD. It is suggested that San'a' was the capital of the Himyarite kingdom at the onset of the 6th Century AD.
When King Yousef Athar (or Dhu Nuwas), the last of the Himyarite kings, was in power, San'a' was also the capital of the Ethiopian viceroys, then after 570 of the Persians.
As of the dawn of Islam until the detachment of independent sub-states in many parts of Yemen Islamic Caliphate, San'a' persisted as the governing seat, who himself is Caliph's deputy in running the affairs of one of Yemen's Three Makhalifs: Mikhlaf San'a', Mikhlaf al-Janad and Mikhlaf Hadhramawt. The city of San'a' recurrently assumed an important status and all Yemenite States competed to control it.
The Mamelukes arrived in Yemen in AD 1517. Following the collapse of the Mamelukes in Egypt at the hands of the Ottoman Turks, Yemen fell under the Ottoman Rule and during the first Ottoman rule of Yemen between 1538-1635, San'a' became the capital of the Ottoman Vilayet and also during the Ottoman second rule 1872-1918. In 1918, San'a' was the capital of Imam Yahya, who ruled North Yemen. At the onset of the 1962 revolution which deposed the imamate rule, it became the capital of the Arab Republic of Yemen. It was then the capital of unified Yemen in 1990 where it is dubbed as the historical capital of Yemen.
The old, fortified city has been inhabited for more than 2500 years and contains a wealth of intact architectural gems. It was declared a World Heritage City by the United Nations in 1984. Efforts are underway to preserve some of the oldest buildings, some of which are over 400 years old. Surrounded by ancient clay walls which stand six to nine metres (20-30ft) high, the old city boasts over 100 mosques, 12 hammams (baths) and 6500 houses. Many of the houses look rather like ancient skyscrapers -- reaching several storeys high and topped with flat roofs, they are decorated with elaborate friezes and intricately carved windows.
One of the most popular attractions is Suq al-Milh (Salt Market), where it is possible to buy not only salt but also bread, spices, raisins, cotton, copper, pottery, silverware, antiques, and a host of other goods. The majestic seventh century al-Jami'a l-Kabir (The Great Mosque) is one of the oldest in the Muslim world. BÄb al-Yaman Yemen Gate is an iconized entry point through the city walls and is over 700 years old. (wikipedia)

The Yemen Youth Declaration
On behalf of the youths of the Yemeni revolution
We are, the Yemeni youths, writing this declaration to explain the situation in Yemen from the sight of the Yemeni youths and clarify our aims and requests. Millions of people are protesting in a civilized peaceful manner to request the change of the Yemeni President (Ali Abdullah Saleh) and ruling party
This Channel was created in order to be a witness of the peaceful revolution In Yemen and how the government is killing its people with cold blood.
This is an archive for all the events happened in our Revolution, so that everyone in the world can reach the hidden truth.
Innocent people are dying every day. They have even used snipers to shoot people deliberately on head. In Sana'a more than 56 people killed in one night on 15th March and more than 1000 injured, similar case happened in Taiz 17 people killed on 8th of April by the security force, which is ruled by the son Of Ali Abdullah Saleh. In Aden only, more than 14 people have been killed and tens are injured on 25th of February only and the number is exceeding 42 martyrs in Aden since the beginning of the revolution. Some statistics from human rights organizations till 28 of April, shows the number of martyrs in the whole country has exceeded 419 since the beginning of the revolution, while more than 12,000 people were injured.. Killing and injuring the peaceful nations is not the only way used by the cruel regime, but kidnapping the active youth from the streets and threatening their families is another useless way used to abort our peaceful revolution aiming the change to the better future. This massacre that has occurred and is still occurring in Yemen is a terrifying fact hidden from the whole world.
Currently, people all around Yemen have united and are protesting loudly in all cities to seek the same aim, the fall of the system.
Here, we ask the entire world, all global organizations, The United Nations, the Golf countries, the Human Rights Watch to witness what is happening in the Republic of Yemen. The government is trying to hide the truth by forcing the journalists of International TV channels to leave the country and threatened them by death in case they have tried to show any of what is happening in the country to the whole world. We request the whole world to stand beside us. We want change to occur. We want civilization. We want a developed country. We only want a chance to have a better respectful life. Finally, we want peace to take place. Ali Abdullah Saleh have been cheating the whole world for 33 Years by the lie of Al-Qaidah, ask anyone in Yemen and you will know the truth that he was the one supplying them from the beginning to terrify the whole world and ask for huge amount of support to fight Al-Qaidah, while the whole money is transferred to his account outside and the weapons are used against the peaceful nation.
He is using the lie of Al-Qaidah every time he is in need of getting attention from the whole world and get its support, while those, which he called them Al- Qaidah are just members of his military units. No need for us to prove this, as all the government are really aware of this fact, but try to close their eyes for well-known reasons. The whole world will see the truth soon.
We ask you as a nation under attack of cruel regime, to come and see the truth on the land and witness the methods used by the government to abort our peaceful revolution violently. We seek your help.
We do not want to give him any guarantees after the huge number of people killed for no reason, we do not want him to escape from justice, We do not agree on agreements giving him any immunity against standing in the law court taking his punishment for what he has done to his own people and to the whole country for 33 Years!
We are giving him the last chance to stop killing the people and leave the country peacefully, You as human believe in Human Rights and see all of these crimes happening in Yemen everyday , you have to stand with us and give us all your support wherever you are.
We will continue our peaceful revolution till we reach our goals: freedom, Democracy, development, justice and change for the better future.

On s’eleve.
I will rise even though people want me to fall.
Will climb even if I have to risk it all.
Until I’m standing strong.

SUMMARY
=======
The history of international trade chronicles notable events that have affected the trade between various countries.
In the era before the rise of the nation state, the term 'international' trade cannot be literally applied, but simply means trade over long distances; the sort of movement in goods which would represent international trade in the modern world.
In the 21st century, China, the European Union and the United States are the three largest trading markets in the world.
