One of the many great passes in the South Island of New Zealand. Amazing scenery as you drive along this road. Waterfalls, wildlife, snowy capped mountains, rivers, bouldering, hiking, and plenty of places to pull over and take some photos! Arthurs Pass really is much more than a road from A to B. Make sure you allocate a couple of days to travel through the Pass. You can stay overnight at Lake Pearson on the way. Hiking Avalanche Peak - Arthur's Pass National Park
I went hiking up Avalanche Peak with a group of friends. The weather was perfect and the view from up there just amazing.
I shot this video using a Canon 70D with a 18-135mm lens on a Beholder EC1 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer.
The aerial footage were shot with a Phantom 3 with a PolarPro ND32 filter.
Some shots are a bit shaky as I haven't owned the stabilizer for very long and I still need to practice. And also the ground was very uneven and it was hard to look at both what I was filming and where I was walking :)

Arthur's Pass -Temple Basin New Zealand May 2017
On this day I travel from Greymouth on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island to the Arthur's Pass National Park along the Great Alpine Highway followed by a walk up the Temple Basin - Page Shelter Trail.

At the very heart of the South Island, between the West Coast and Canterbury, is Arthur's Pass National Park. Covering over 1,000 square kilometres, it's a park of two halves, with heavy rainforest and formidable gorges to the west, and more accessible valleys, tracks and broad river beds to the east.

This weekend our hiker is going on a trek in the Arthur's Pass national park, on the incredible south island of New Zealand. Walking through stunning mountain ranges, crossing freezing cold rivers and getting up close to Carrington Peak and the surrounding mountain passes.

This is an easy track, don't let the ruff tree root path fool you, once you have completed that it is mainly a nice boardwalk.
New Zealand's AVALANCHE PEAK / ARTHUR'S PASS
Hiking up and down Scotts Track to Avalanche Peak Arthur's Pass. The track takes between 6-8 Hours to go up and down, but it took me 9 hours. The hike is in New Zealand's South Island.

New Zealand Arthur's Pass National Park Trekking
Arthur’s Pass National Park is in the heart of the Southern Alps. Its high mountains with large scree slopes, steep gorges and wide braided rivers straddle the main divide, and are the ‘back bone’ of the South Island.
Together with my brother, we submitted Arthur's Pass. This is the best walking track for new climbers.

In this video we drive the Arthur's Pass, from the West Coast of the South Island to the East Coast. On the East Coast you will find the biggest city on the South Island: Christchurch. We make some awesome stops. Devil's Punchbowl Waterfall, Castle Hill and we climbed to the top of Castle Rock. This video really shows the beauty of the Canterbury Region.

This route is a remote wilderness 3 day hike, covering 50km of mountainous country. Starting at Klondyke corner, and finishing at Lake Kaniere on the West Coast.
Edwards Hut Arthur's Pass New Zealand
The 16-bunk, well appointed Edwards Hut in Arthur’s Pass is a gentle 4-5hr hike. Most of the walking is on flatish ground, with the occasional short uphill section. The track is clearly marked in most places and the change of scenery from river beds to beech trees is nice. At the hut there are several spaces where you can pitch your tent among the tussock, or you can relax and sleep in the hut and enjoy the comforts of a warm fire on a cold night. Be sure to venture briefly beyond the hut as the boardwalk and small tarns are very picturesque. Remember to take your camera with you, as you'll be provided with plenty of photo-worthy opportunities.
Harman Pass Hike - Arthurs Pass New Zealand
A three day hike in Arthurs Pass National Park, New Zealand.
Day 1 Klondyke Corner to Carrington Hut via the Waimak River.
Day 2 Carrington Hut to Harman Pass via Taipoiti Gorge. Then from Harman Pass we traveled down Mary Creek to the Julia Hut, and then from there we followed the Taipo River to The Mid-Taipo Hut.
Day 3 Mid-Taipo Hut to Highway 73 following the Taipo River.
