Atatürk House and Atatürk Museum | Antalya Homes ®
Atatürk was in Izmir where the weather was very cold at the beginning of March 1930, so he decided to take a break in Antalya's warmer weather. He passed through Isparta and Burdur before arring to Antalya on 6 March.
The streets from Kepez all the way to the city centre were lined with people excited to catch a glimpse of their great leader. He was presented with a Villa by the people of Antalya and from the balcony he gave a speech to offer his thanks.
He stayed in the villa for one week until the 12 March, visiting various museums, historical ruins and farm lands before returning to Ankara after his rest.

Atatürk Museum Antalya
At the beginning of March 1930, Ataturk was in Izmir. The weather was becoming very cold. Ataturk thought of taking a rest for a week in Antalya's warm weather. On 5 March 1930, he departed from Izmir to Antalya. Passing through Isparta and Burdur, he arrived in Antalya in the afternoon on 6 March 1930. From the village of Kepez to the city, the people had filled out both sides of the road to see and cheer for the great leader. At 16:00 hours, Ataturk arrived at Tophane square. The villa where he was going to stay was presented to him as a gift by the people of Antalya. The ground in front of the villa was crowded with people. After resting for a short time in the villa, Ataturk came out to the balcony, made a short speech and thanked to the people of Antalya. The same night, he went to the Turkish Nationalist Club and discussed with the youth on the country's problems. Towards midnight he went back to the villa for rest.
Ataturk had stayed a whole week in Antalya until 12 March 1930 morning. During this time, he went about to various places. He visited museums, historical ruins, citrus gardens and talked with producers. After a week's rest, on 12 March at 10:00 hours in the morning, he returned to Ankara.
The next year, Ataturk, again, arrived in Antalya on 10 February 1931 at noon with the Ege steamboat, while passing through the shores of Aegean and Mediterranean seas, and went to Silifke without staying there. The third and the last time of Ataturk's arrival in Antalya occurred in February 1935. Ataturk had departed from Izmir on 16 February 1935, with the Ege steamboat and arrived at the Antalya pier on Monday at 13:30 hours, 18 February 1935. His sister Makbule Atadan, Ms. Nebile, Professor Afet Inan, Fahrettin Altay, Nuri Conker, Cevat Abbas Gurer, his aides and others were accompanying him. Arriving at his villa directly from the pier with a barouche, he rested until the evening. After spending the night in the villa, the next evening at 22:30 hours, he departed for Tasucu town with the Ege steamboat.
The Ataturk villa that the people of Antalya had presented to him, is a two-storey stone building with clay tile roof. There is a long hall at the entrance. At the right side of the hall, there is a living room, a room, a bathroom and a kitchen situated. At the left side, there are two rooms and stairs going up to the first floor. On the first floor, apart from the hall, there are seven rooms, one of which had a balcony. Ataturk had slept in the room across the stairs.
After the death of Ataturk, the Antalya Ataturk Villa was transferred to the Private Administration and used as Night School of Crafts for Girls and The Institute for Girls in 1939. In 1952, the villa was handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture and used as the office of the Directorate of Technical Agriculture until 1980. After 1980, it was transferred to the Ministry of Culture, restored and opened to the public as the Ataturk Museum.

IZMIR (TURKEY), EXPLORING the MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK MUSEUM ????️
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the Atatürk Museum which is a museum in İzmir, Turkey. Founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a Turkish army officer, revolutionary, and the first President of Turkey, the Izmir Atatürk Museum opened to the public on 11 September 1941, on the 19th anniversary of Atatürk’s arrival in Izmir. On 13 May 1988 it was officially named the Izmir Atatürk Museum, which it is called today.
The building is on Atatürk Boulevard and it was built in between 1875-1880 by a carpet merchant, Takfor, as a resident. It was nationalized after being 'abandoned' by its Greek owner on 9 September 1922. After entering Izmir, the Turkish Army used the building as its headquarters.
Izmir is a city on Turkey’s Aegean coast. Known as Smyrna in antiquity, it was founded by the Greeks, taken over by the Romans and rebuilt by Alexander the Great before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. Today, its expansive archaeological sites include the Roman Agora of Smyrna, now an open-air museum. The hilltop Kadifekale, or Velvet Castle, built during Alexander’s reign, overlooks the city.
Turkey is a nation straddling eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.

Turkish president Erdogan unveils his new palace of a thousand rooms
The Turkish president has unveiled his new presidential palace on Wednesday amidst huge controversy.
Opposition politicians have mocked the extravagance of the palace - which has 1,000 rooms and is understood to have cost more than 270 million euros - and say it is evidence of the president's autocratic tendencies.
Environmentalists are angry that the complex has been built on one of the city's best preserved green spaces and that hundreds of trees were cut down.
It was originally planned as…

Antalya Travel Guide - Turkey Unique Experience
Antalya Travel Guide - Turkey Unique Experience
Antalya is the largest city on the Turkish Mediterranean coast, and is one of the hubs of the Turkish Riviera. Having entered the scene in 150 BC as Attalia, named after its founder, Attalos II, king of Pergamon, Antalya has ever attracted a wide array of travellers, including Paul the Apostle, and Ibn Battuta among others. Antalya had replaced Phaselis—beautiful ruins of which now lie to south of the city, between Kemer and Olympos—as the main harbour of the surrounding region during the reign of Seljuks, in early 1200s, but the lack of a large hinterland (or, rather, lack of good connections with its mountainous hinterland) meant for much of its history eversince that it was a provincial coastal town, albeit with a multicultural community of Muslims, Christians, and Jews. As the centre of a region with beautiful beaches, verdant mountains, and a mindblowing number of ancient ruins.
The tourism investments started in 1970s, which changed the fate of the city considerably. However, as most of the visitors (make no mistake—they are in the range of millions annually) to the region are actually on all-inclusive vacation packages nowadays, they are immediately taken from the airport to the huge resorts lining the coastline of hundreds of kilometres, where they stay until the end of their holidays except perhaps a raid or two to the nearest and the most popular attractions, so Antalya itself, especially the old town (Kaleiçi), is more of an independent traveller destination, where you will meet the other travellers of a similar mind, and the locals.
Around April, when you can perfectly get a suntan and the weather is much more bearable than summer months, is one of the best times to visit the city. Antalya offers a variety of public transportation, such as public buses, trams, mini-buses, taxicabs and dolmus. There is a system to the letters that precede the route numbers on the signs posted in the front fo the buses:
A - Aksu, which is a town to the east
C - Çarşı
D - Döşemealtı
F - Tıp Fakültesi
K - Konyaaltı Beach, to the west of the town centre
L - Lara Beach, to the southeast of the town centre
M - Masadağı
T - Terminal
U - Uncalı
V - Varsak
In Antalya, buses pass from anywhere to any destination in the city. Fares are low and most buses offer air-conditioning and TV even for short routes. Dolmus literally means filled up. Dolmus is a large cab, a station wagon, a regular taxi or a minibus that travels a certain route. The new tram system (AntRay) currently (04/2011) consists of one line, serving the route Fatih-Otogar-Muratpaşa-Ismetpaşa-Meydan every 7min during the day.
Most of Antalya's historic buildings can be found along the narrow, winding streets of Kaleiçi, the old quarter. Historical, architectural and archaeological sites of note include: Yivli Minaret, Karatay Medresesi, Hıdırlık Tower, Ahi Yusuf Mescidi, Iskele Mosque, Murat Paşa Mosque, Tekeli Mehmet Paşa Mosque, Balibey Mosque, Musellim Mosque, Seyh Sinan Efendi Mosque, Hadrian Arch, and the Clock Tower. Many structures date back to the Hellenistic era. Also The Antalya Museum has a notable archaeology collection.

Konyaaltı Beach

Yivliminare Mosque
Kurşunlu Waterfall
Karaalioglu Park
Hıdırlık Tower

You can divide Antalya into two main areas (as far as tourists are concerned). The Old Town (Kaleiçi), as its name implies, is full of character and has beautifully restored buildings with small guest houses and more evidently luxury boutique hotels. Lara to the east of the city has many 4/5 star beach hotels that cater for the all inclusive holiday market. Both are good options, depending on what you are looking for. Of course, there are very good hotels outside of these areas, but not in the density that Old Town/Lara have.
