A Quick Glimpse Of Beale Street & The Peabody Hotel In Memphis - B.B. King Blues Club, Peabody Ducks
Please Subscribe To Our Channel If You Haven't Already Done So - Thank you!
On a trip to Memphis, we wanted to check out the world-famous Beale Street and The Peabody Hotel in the downtown area. We had been there before on a weekend, and Beale Street was crazy! There were hundreds of people jamming the streets, and Blues music was coming out of every bar, club, and alley. This time, we went on a Thursday night, and it wasn't near as busy, but there were still quite a few people, and fortunately, the Blues music was going strong! B.B. King's Blues Club was loud and busy, and so were a lot of others. We sat on the upstairs balcony of Alfred's for a while, looking down on Beale Street, and it was great hearing all the music coming from all the open doorways! The Peabody Hotel is close-by, so we walked over there to take in it's classic charm. We went up to the rooftop Skyway area to find the Duck Palace and see the resting Peabody Ducks. After that, we called it a night, and said goodbye to Beale Street until our next trip to Memphis!

JZ Club Shanghai - A Tribute to B.B. King - Justin Chu
“The blues has lost its king, and America has lost a legend. B.B. King was born a sharecropper’s son in Mississippi, came of age in Memphis, Tennessee, and became the ambassador who brought his all-American music to his country and the world. No one worked harder than B.B. No one inspired more up-and-coming artists. No one did more to spread the gospel of the blues.” (President Obama)
B.B. inspired musicians all over the world. From the West of the United States, where B.B. was born, to the East of China. On June 2nd, 2015, a tribute to B.B. was performed in JZ Club. A concert in memory of the King of Blues. Mario Trane and Smokey Buronelli (Guitar/Vocals), Pettis Thomas and Denise Mininfield (Vocals), Sean Higgins and E.J. Parker (Piano), E.J. Parker (Bass), Nicholas McBride (Drums), Kyle Gemberling (Trumpet) and – last but not least – first time on stage in JZ, Justin Chu (Harpers).
In his post on Facebook, Eric Clapton said: “there are not many left of play in the pure way that B.B. did.” Well, at JZ they came really close. What a great tribute to the King of Blues. Priceless.

Rum Boogie Cafe, Beale street, Memphis, Tennessee
Rum Boogie cafe, Beale street, Memphis, Tennessee, United States 2002 - Memphis nightlife
Of all the clubs and bars on Beale Street, Rum Boogie Cafe is the one not to miss. If their superfine rum selection and beer aren’t enough to entice you, the Cajun and barbecue menu should–ribs, fried catfish, gumbo and red beans and rice served by fast and friendly servers. Nighttime is all about hot music with the house-favorite James Govan and the Boogie Blues Band.
