Bearfort Paranormal Investigation of Bearfort Lodge New Jersey
Bearfort Lodge Investigation Undisclosed Location NJ October 2014
Have you ever seen a structure or setting that speaks to you...practically calls your name? One you know you are destined to become a part of if only for a brief moment in time?
Claims-
As soon as you enter this beautiful home, you feel the magic. As I looked around, I could imagine the great room full of people engaged in various activities. So alive with the energy of both the past and the present.
It’s no wonder a few spirits may wish to remain here. Bits of conversations and voices have been heard. The current homeowner has also heard his name called on more then one occasion. Heavy footsteps have been perceived in the loft and on the stairs. There has been some object manipulation; namely the unexplained movements of a tribal face mask on the wall.
History
Nestled in the heart of the New Jersey Highlands stands a beautiful rustic cabin known to many as the Bearfort Lodge.
This historic cabin has functioned as a hunting lodge, speakeasy, bar and restaurant, as well as a private home.
The structure itself is an extraordinary example of an early 1900s chestnut log home, which is being lovingly restored by its current owner.
Investigation
Our initial walkthrough indicated there were no inherent EMF levels within the structure or on the grounds. We planned on walking throughout the entire home and investigating from room to room, but for some reason we were drawn to the large enclosed porch off the great room.
We decided to gather around one of the tables so we could introduce ourselves and make our intentions known.
It wasn’t long before we started to experience hits on the various REM Pods we had in place, though we did debunk the activity we captured with the Vibe Pod in the loft. We eventually decided to turn the device off as a result.
We were also experimenting with the Laser-EVP Mic in the loft. This device allows you to extract Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) from one reflective surface to another.
Many of us also felt goose bumps as well as a “rolling” chill that seemed to move from person to person as the REM Pod on the table was going off. This particular pod will only go off if the electro magnetic field, which radiates from the device is broken.
It should also be noted that there was an inherent draft…with temperatures fluctuating between 66- 68 degrees.
As the energy began to build Bob got up and grabbed the SLS camera*. What happened next floored us. We captured an anomaly at the table that coincided with the REM Pod going off as well! We were floored. We honestly could not contain our excitement, and took a break to review this evidence.
Once we settled down, we turned our attention to some of the ITC devices we had brought along; namely, the P-SB7, P-SB11, and the Ovilus.
We had quite a bit of interaction, which was both intelligent and direct in many cases. Our cameras also picked up a stomping sound we had all heard in the main part of the cabin.
Chuck and Will headed outside to take a walk around the grounds while the rest of the group dispersed for a bit. Tony and John decided to relax in the great room while Bob monitored the equipment.
At this point the girls decided to play a mock game of blackjack, which garnered some interesting results.
The amount of EVPS we captured seemed to escalate as the evening wore on.
One EVP from the loft area was rather chilling…it occurred while Sandra was in the upstairs restroom. It was a male voice, which said “Just the two of us”- gives me chills to this day!
Please note; all alternate cameras that were placed throughout the cabin were checked in an effort to debunk them.
Conclusion
We’d love to go back in the near future to explore this amazing location in greater detail. We are also eager to address the young child who tried reaching out to us. Sadly, we could not make out exactly what she had said to us at the time. Her voice has haunted us ever since.
*We have tried to debunk the evidence we captured with the camera that evening, and have poured over the visuals countless times! Chuck is sitting in the background just behind where the anomaly was captured, but he was extremely still. The anomaly was not. The interesting part is that this was also happening at the same time the REM Pod was going crazy and we all felt the deep chill go through us one at a time.
*The SLS Camera is a ‘Structured Light Sensor’ Camera System. It is a portable camera with a variety of sensors. Some of the features include ultrasonic distance detection, thermal temperature sensing and light frequency sensing.

Episode 10: Bayfield County Wild Talks with Kevin Schram about Backpacking Wisconsin's Portion...
On this episode of Bayfield County Wild Co-hosts Nancy Christopher and Mary Motiff, director of Bayfield County Tourism, speak with Kevin Schram, president of the Chequamegon Chapter of the North Country Trail Association. They discuss how Kevin’s subchapter handles the maintenance and promotion of their portion of the trail running through Bayfield and Ashland counties, as well as other upcoming area events throughout June.
Waterfalls and Hiking Trails in Bayfield County
Bayfield County is rich in natural wonders, so we invite everyone to get out and enjoy nature to its fullest this summer!
Houghton Falls – A popular location for visitors for its beauty and natural resources, Houghton Falls’ eco system is delicate. Visitors are encouraged to adhere to the signage and stay on the designated trails to avoid additional damage to the area. As part of the Bayfield Regional Conservancy, helps the Town of Bayview to manage and preserve the falls and surrounding land for the future.
At Lost Creek Falls near Cornucopia, the Forestry and Parks Department has made some improvements to the trail, including the addition of a boardwalk. It's approximately 1.5 miles to the falls, Stay tuned for more developments at Lost Creek Falls later this year, with the addition of a bridge that leads to a picnic area and steps to get down to the falls.
Hiking Trails – Bayfield County has over 35 different hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels. From three-quarters-of-a-mile on the Gil Larson Nature Trail around the Old Iron Bridge in Bayfield, to a much longer hike on the North Country Trail, hikes are noted as easy to moderate for both rookie and experienced hikers.
Interactive Map – Did you know Bayfield County Tourism offers an online interactive map – usable on mobile devices or computers – that can assist you in planning your next hike? Click our link, then click on “Play,” followed by “Non-Motorized Trails.” You can then zoom in and see trail details throughout Bayfield County! If you’d prefer a printed brochure, please contact our office and we’ll be happy to send one your way.
North Country Trail
America’s longest among 14 national scenic trails, the North Country Trail runs through seven states, from the plains to the east coast. The North Country Trail Association (NCTA) is a national organization based in Michigan. Its various subchapters in each state are responsible for maintaining and promoting its particular section of the trail. Kevin Schram and the volunteer members of the NCTA’s Chequamegon Chapter handle the section of the trail that runs through both Bayfield and Ashland counties. The Wisconsin portion of the North Country Trail offers continuous wilderness hiking for over 130 miles.
To get a sense of the depth of the 4,600-mile-long North Country Trail, if you headed west from Bayfield County you could hike about halfway into North Dakota. Heading east, the trail stretches as far as New York. Kevin hopes that in the future, the trail will link up with the Appalachian Trail in Vermont. Only a dozen people have hiked the entire trail, with half accomplishing this journey over different periods of time. These individuals are referred to as section hikers. The other six are considered through-hikers, who start at one end and walk continuously to the other. There are plenty of day hikes on the North Country Trail in Bayfield County for those who want to do a more casual hike, though.
The work Kevin and his team accomplish includes re-routes around wet areas, removal of fallen trees on the trail and maintenance on bridges and other structures to ensure safety for all hikers. He speaks highly of the Wisconsin portion of the trail for backpacking, as two different wilderness areas allow camping anywhere you desire, if the location is at least 200 feet from a fresh water source.
Currently, the Chequamegon Chapter of the NCTA is working with the National Forest Service to construct some back country campsites, which will help to make the North Country Trail in Wisconsin a premiere backpacking destination. Kevin hopes to have a campsite every seven miles, but it will be a slow process. The National Forest Service will hopefully approve at least two sites in 2018, and Kevin’s group could have them built by fall. He says that ideally, all campsites would be listed on maps so visitors can better...

Mud Trucks Gone Wild - Michigan Mud Jam
Riding around Michigan Mud Jam was difficult at times with all the traffic, sometimes it was better to go on a walking adventure. It was dry for the First half of the day, then the Rain came through and got things a little wet and slippery. Rain makes more mud, and More mud means more fun. There was a Boat that someone made into a Mud truck along with a lot of other custom off road vehicles. We saw several Mustangs and go Carts and Lawn Tractors and All terrain vehicles.

Interviews, Rare intimates sets with Legendary Blues Artists all in a beautiful Listening Room. Outstanding!
IF you are a PLAYER bring your Instrument as often and Informal Jam will Follow off stage the session will end by 10pm.. Audience members welcome to stay!
LARRY McCRAY's heart and soul are in the blues. Of that, there's no question. It's been 25 years -- award-winning ones at that -- of scalding-hot and tasteful blues from the Arkansas-born, Michigan-based singer, guitarist, bandleader, songwriter and heir apparent to a lineage that includes personal influences and heroes such as B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert King, all of whom he's had the chance to meet and play with. McCray's eight albums have blended reverence for that tradition with his own soulful spin on the form, and those achievements have been noted with an Orville H. Gibson Male Blues Guitarist of the Year award as well as the Top Guitarist prize in International Blues Matters' 2014 writer's poll. But there's a part of McCray here that has a rock 'n' roll beat too, and he's following that on his latest release,
THE GIBSON SESSIONS, a 12-song set featuring some of his personal favorites by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, the Doobie Brothers, the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival and others, with help from six-string brethren such as Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts, Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Eric Clapton), Los Lobos' David Hidalgo and Jimmy Herring (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead, Phil Lesh & Friends). The blues is my favorite, for sure. I get more out of it, feeling-wise, but I've always been a rock 'n' roll fan and I've always tried to write music that was rock 'n' roll friendly, McCray explains. He adds, THE GIBSON SESSIONS is as much a Larry McCray album as the 1990 or 91 debut AMBITION or any of the others that followed in its wake. I always try to move forward and remember where I came from, McCray says. This album is a way to do these songs I love and maybe get them heard by people who like that music already, but do it in my own way so I can have some of my personality and self-identity within the music.
