DIRT CHEAP Ubud Bali Shopping ( With Prices $$ ) - Explore Indonesia Market ????????
Shopping in Bali Indonesia is shocking experience we had of course from bargaining, Balinese vendor reaction and how cheap it is - This is the Ultimate Guide On shopping in Bali (with prices !! of course ) We spent one day exploring the Ubud Market in Bali, together with Sukawati market which is not far from Ubud art market at all. This is our first time shopping in Bali and It was a great shopping experience I hope you enjoy it!
SHOPPING IN UBUD :
The Ubud Art Market, locally referred to as 'Pasar Seni Ubud' is located opposite the Puri Saren Royal Ubud Palace and is open daily. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats; statues, kites, and many other hand-crafted goods. Most of the goods found at the Ubud Market are made in the neighboring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan, and Peliatan. The location of the Ubud Art Market which is centered among the art producing villages, and being just opposite the royal palace which is a center point to Ubud itself, make it a strategic shopping place for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs. The Ubud market also serves as a setting for the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love, which shows a scene where actress Julia Roberts opposite a male character strolling through the stalls which are frequently visited by foreign and domestic visitors in real life. Naturally, bargaining is essential.

YOGA BARN UBUD - THE BEST UBUD RETREAT & YOGA CENTER | Bali, Indonesia Travel Vlog 136, 2018
Yoga Barn Ubud is known as the best Yoga center in Ubud - visiting Indonesia and Bali everyone said to check out this retreat house ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Yoga is incredibly popular in Ubud - it seems like most people we met around Bali, or more so Ubud, were there to visit a yoga centre or yoga house themselves.
Finding a yoga house in Indonesia doesn't seem hard, but if you visit Bali most people head to Ubud not just for the yoga but for the retreat as well. Seems like theres a studio on every other street, or more, but Yogabarn just kept coming up as the most popular place so we figured it was time to check it out!
We're not the biggest yogis, but from what we can see if you're heading to Indonesia you need to head to Ubud and check out Yoga Barn.

UBUD ART MARKET - PASAR SENI UBUD,BALI
Ubud Traditional Art Market – Location, Things To Buy & Shopping Tips.
Even though you can find many shopping malls in Bali especially in the southern part of Bali island, the traditional market remains available in Bali. The existence of traditional market stays in touch in Bali. Due to most local area prefer to buy their daily need to a traditional market. Bali traditional art market has its unique value. Also, you can visit it as one of the exciting places to visit while on holiday in Bali. There is two traditional art market that so famous among tourists in Bali and their area: Ubud Traditional Art Market & Sukawati art market.
The uniqueness of the traditional art market in Bali is different from other countries and other regions in Indonesia. These create many foreign tourists and domestic tourists interested in visiting the traditional art market while on holiday in Bali.
Almost all the traditional art market in Bali sells merchandise that is no much difference from one another. Merchandise available in the traditional art market such as T-shirts with Balinese barong, Balinese silver rings and silver necklaces, beach clothes, Balinese snacks, paintings and sculptures with Balinese carvings. Therefore, if you are looking for cheap clothes shopping in Ubud, the best place to buy is at Ubud central market.
One of the famous attractions in Bali which has a traditional art market in Ubud. The traditional art market in Ubud known as Pasar Seni Tradisional Ubud, the English language means Traditional Art Market Ubud. Due to the uniqueness of the traditional art market in Ubud, one of the Hollywood movies, called Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts, takes the shooting set in the Ubud traditional art market.
Ubud Traditional Art Market Location
To find Ubud art market location is effortless because the position is in the center of Ubud. The address of Ubud art market located at Jalan Raya Ubud No.35 – Ubud, Bali. The location of the traditional art market in Ubud Ubud is very strategic. Located in front of the Ubud Royal Palace (Puri Saren Ubud). Also, Ubud’s traditional art market is also adjacent to Ubud’s famous tourist attractions such as:
Monkey Forest Ubud.
Saraswati Temple.
Goa Gajah Temple.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace Ubud.
If you depart from Kuta Bali heading to Ubud art market, then you will require travel time approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with a distance of 32 kilometers.
The Best Way To Visit Ubud Art Market
Due to the limitation of the parking lot in the Ubud art market especially during the day. Therefore, if you stay in one of the hotels in the Ubud area, you should use a taxi meter when visiting the traditional art market. If you do not stay at in Ubud area, driving your car without taking a private driver, will make you have to find a parking lot located far away with the Ubud traditional art market location. Therefore, we suggest you get a car rental service with driver in Bali.
By using the services of a driver, then you can immediately get off the car in front of the art market. Then, your driver will find a car park for you. By the time you have finished shopping at the Ubud art market, you can ask the driver to pick up in front of the art market.
Opening Hours & Attractiveness
Ubud art market opening hours from 04:00 am – 6:00 pm. Also, no entry fee required to enter the art market area. The best time to visit the traditional art market in Ubud is in the morning, because there is a belief of the Balinese, if they succeed in sales in the morning, mean as a sign as a successful sale for the whole day. This Balinese belief is known as “Pegarus Dagangan.”
Therefore, if you want to shop at Ubud traditional art market and want to get the opportunity to bargain for a lower price, then you should visit the market in the morning, around 09:00 am. Also, by coming to the market early in the morning, the Ubud art market is not too crowded, compared when you visit the market in the afternoon.
The goods sold in Ubud traditional art market is in good quality with a relatively economical price. However, to get a reasonable cost, you need to be an expert in bargaining. While I am not good at negotiation, so I tend to get a higher price compare if my wife makes the negotiation with the same item. For your information, most merchants get the merchandise directly from home artisans, which makes the price of becoming cheaper. Of course, you still need to bargain.

Ubud Bali what is it really like?
People ask me what is there to do and see in and around Ubud Bali since I go there often. This video tries to address those questions. Directions to each location are at the end of this text.
Sitting upstairs at the Havana Cafe's Castro's Table enjoying that nut loaf with mashed potatoes thing again for a second time in a week, my friends and I were overtaken by the music. One by one as we finished our plates we hurried downstairs to to the bar to enjoy the music of D'STRINGS, Bali's only home grown Salsa Band as far as I know. I still had my video camera with me from the days shooting so I started shooting hand held clips of the band while my friends joined the dancing. Unfortunately the bar was very dark hence the dark video shot in the bar. When the band took a break they told me they didn't have a video of them. They are so good and different I told them if they could put up with me I would come back with a tripod and get a stationary track with audio of entire songs then splice in the other shots and video from all over Bali and post it on YouTube. The video was shot entirely with a Sony HDR-CX550 and edited with Sony Vegas. Enjoy!
Directions to the locations in this video.
1. Morning offerings at the temple in the main market on Jalan Raya at the intersection of Monkey Forest road. The temple is across Jalan Raya from the Ubud Palace.
2. Traffic on Jalan Raya in front of the main market early in the morning.
3. Vendors in the main market.
4. Street scene on the alley off Jalan Raya between Ary's and Casa Luna.
5. The old man is walking on Jalan Raya across from Casa Luna heading towards the main market.
6. The ocean shot is from Nusa Ceningan near Nusa Lembongan only a few hours away, yet another world from Ubud.
7. The lake and volcano cones were shot from the rim of Mount Batur an easy 1 hour drive north of Ubud.
8. The shot of the rice field in the sun is on the left just a few km's north of Ubud on Jalan Suweta, turn off Jalan Raya by the Ubud Palace.
9. The shot of the steep rice terraces in the early morning light is on the right side of the road to Mount Batur about 15 minutes or so ? drive from Ubud. Go very early before the vendors and bus loads of tourist show up. The buildings have flat roofs for viewing the rice fields and drinking coffee.
10. The rice being harvested was shot all around Ubud in March and April.
11. The Cafe Havana is on Jalan Dewi Sita off Monkey Forest road next to the ball field.

In the hills of beautiful and peaceful Ubud | Bali, Indonesia (Ep 12)
Ubud is one of the spiritual hearts of Bali, made famous in the Julia Roberts movie 'Eat, Pray, Love', and we were keen to explore this unique spot. First we had to get there of course, and it was quite the journey from Gili-T, involving a local ferry, slow ferry, and two shuttles.
We spent our first few days exploring ourselves, and then were joined by our friends from NZ Warwick and Lisa. We visited the Sayan Night Market, checked out the amazing shopping Ubud has to offer, and hopped on scooters to start exploring the surrounds of Bali, including the stunning Tagallalang Rice Fields.
There was so much going in Ubud we ended up making a two part vlog. Don't forget to check out Part 2 as we explore more of the area around Ubud including the Water Temple, a waterfall, Gianyar night market and Mt Batur.

White Water Rafting Bali - CHEAP Ubud Day Trip Vlog
From Gili Air, we're heading back to Ubud on our return ticket we had purchased. Gili Air was an awesome tropical get away but we were ready to explore Bali more and get a little more adventurous, taking a River Rafting trip.
Once we arrived at the Bali docks we were briefly warned about taxi scam guys that will be pushy and to not give them your bus transfer ticket. Then as we arrived and they opened the doors, boom like 10 taxi guys literally boarded the boat and stood in the walk ways trying to get people to hand over their tickets for the free ride, yet you are supposed to take your ticket to the parking lot and meet the uniformed employees. We pushed our way through them eventually and got our luggage while being constantly asked if we needed a taxi. (No one does, everyone gets transfers) We started heading to the parking lot with one scammer thinking he could trick us into not waiting 3 hours for the van pick up. Left and right we saw other tourists giving over their passes to non uniformed random guys so the poor souls would have had to end up booking a taxi through the scammers now instead anyway. Once we arrived at the uniformed employees we started to load a van and the other random guy was still trying to convince us to go with him but we got in and were set. I even clarified with the driver that it was indeed official, and that I wouldn't have to pay more, and that I won't pay anymore at the end regardless if he asks then haha. Quite the ordeal but from there it was a van ride and settling into our next hotel in upper Ubud!
Our Ubud hotel was located on the northern end of Ubud a good distance from town so we got to still enjoy a bit more of a rural setting. We ended up getting a bigger room than we planned and the hotel itself also had a restaurant attached so we kicked back and settled in. We enjoyed taking walks around the little local community and had lunch at a nice little local warung. Luke ended up getting pretty sick that night, the day before our rafting trip of course but ended up waking up feeling able to do the rafting.
The water rafting trip was a scenic drive through Bali and up the hillside to get to the start of the long river. We always find an enjoyment in long rides getting to see so much of the countryside at least compared to walking everywhere a lot. We stopped at a quick scenic viewpoint for an amazing view of Bali and then it was back up the mountain to the rafts. The rafting company was one of many companies that all share the start of the river and have different pull over stops down the river but ours was a good one thankfully.
Being from BC, Canada we have white water rafting around us but neither of us have actually ever tried it here so will need to add that to the to do list, after enjoying this. The 'rapids' still gave you a good amount of speed and there was plenty of pumps and cliffs and amazing views to take in. We really enjoyed taking in all the surroundings and senses, the air smelt like what you would imagine a Bali Rainforest scent to smell, with the humidity all around as well it was quite neat. To anyone considering rafting we would definitely recommend it if you need something to do in Bali besides always being in the busy areas. It really is a good little thrill and the views and experience of floating 18 kilometers down a mountain river is pretty awesome.
Coming up in the next Bali Vlog series, we're out of Ubud for good this time and off to Jimbaran, near Kuta and the airport. We check out the MASSIVE Garuda statue and enjoy a fun area.
Cheers friends and until next time,
Luke and Alysha

TEGALLALANG RICE TERRACE, BALI | BALI VLOG #002
Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Bali. Bali Vlog #002
Places we went: Cafe Dewi -
In this vlog, we had an early start to the day in order to visit the absolutely beautiful Tegallalang Rice Terraces at sunrise. We suggest going as early as possible to avoid the crowds of people, as we've heard that the rice terraces can get very full of tourists.
It took us 40 minutes to drive to the terraces from our Airbnb in Ubud, but it was well worth it! There are no entrance fees but donations are highly suggested. It takes a lot of work to keep the walking trails maintained so please do your part and give donations! We donated 30 Rupiah. Apart from the donations, we only spent money on our lunch at Cafe Dewi (prices were inflated but that's understandable).

Ubud is the cultural center of Bali, and is surrounded by terraced rice fields, white water rivers, and mountains. Of course I had to check out some of the rice fields near the city during my run. Located just blocks from the city center and you're out in the middle of these beautiful rice fields on a small, mostly dirt path.

With the end of our Vietnam adventures we're back to our scheduled Bali travel programming! In today's episode we get to find out what Justis and Kenzo were up to when we were away. It turns out that they had an awesome time travelling all over Bali.
In today's episode with the dynamic duo, follow them as the find their way to Bali's newest photo spot, a hidden waterfall known as the Tukad Cepung waterfall. It's an incredible place that you've got to trek to and get some truly epic photos. With god-level rays peeking through the falls and the mist, you're sure to get photos and videos that are going to pop off on Instagram.
In addition to the Tukad Cepung falls, we found ourself in some rice fields and experienced a truly stressful situation with Kenzo's drone. You might have previously seen Kenzo's drone problems, and today we see his drone's issues reach new heights (pun intended).
Such a huge thanks to @rachelsawden for being our guide for this trip!

We recommend you book directly through Ketut's website to save a bit of money. Our awesome driver Ari from gave us this great tip. If you do cooking classes through your hotels, the cost is often double the price.
The cooking class for us was therefore $35 NZD or 35000 IDR each. It included everything from the morning market tour, food, pick up and drop off and of course the cooking lesson itself.
With an awesome morning behind us we headed over to our luxury villa destination! The beautiful Komaneka at Bisma. Komaneka resorts have three destinations in Bali, however the Bisma location has the nicest pools and is a short drive away from the Ubud city centre. This was certainly the biggest luxury villa for two that Yen and I have ever stayed at and the private infinity pool was massive. It overlooks the beautiful Ubud rainforest. We had a really great relaxing stay here and spent lots of time making use of the huge pool with the weather being so humid.
Details about this resort and all the accommodations we stayed at while in Bali can be found through Yen's informative blog post:

Nasi Goreng in Ubud, Bali ● Temple Ceremony Experience
Hey guys! I filmed dozens of travel vlogs during my Asia trip. Today we're shining attention on Indonesia's island famed for its lush, green paradise: Bali. We start off in Ubud, try Nasi Goreng Campur (fried rice with side dishes), befriend a fellow traveler who you'll see again in future videos, experience a local temple ceremony where I stand out as the lone tourist, make coconut leaf boxes and more. Watch the travel vlog to see the action unfold :)
