Lake Minnewanka Cruise - Banff, Alberta, Canada
Lake Minnewanka is actually a mostly man-made lake with a dam at one end to retain the water for the use of the communities in the national park. A pipeline supplies water for an electrical generating plant a few kilometres away, and they likely use the water for other reasons too. (maybe they could use it to improve the bathroom situation at the venue) But they do offer boat cruises with very entertaining guides that will describe a lot of features of the region.

Okay so day 2 in Banff! Seeing as we didn't get to canoe the first day we decided to go back and do it because it really is a once in a lifetime type thing I mean the lake is absolutely incredible and I wanted to get the full experience. Guys and gals...it was SO worth it. The weather was even better the 2nd day, not a cloud in the sky, bright sunshine and the lake was so turquoise I couldn't believe my eyes! I hope you enjoy this vlog and add this activity to your bucket list. Id say it is an absolute must :)

LAKE MINNEWANKA, Banff National Park
Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake located in the eastern area of Banff National Park in Canada, about five kilometres northeast of the Banff townsite.
Lake Minnewanka is a short 4.5km drive north east from the Town of Banff. The trailhead is located along the west shore of the lake north of the picnic area and continues along the entire length of the lake (20km).
Large boat tours are offered by the Parks service that provide excellent views of the Lakes shore line and surrounding Mountains. Banff Lake Cruise provides a unique sightseeing tour experience on one of two 43 passenger Lake Cruisers or the 65 passenger Alberta Explorer operating several times daily from mid-May to mid-October. This magnificent interpretive lake cruise of Minnewanka and the scenic Canadian Rockies is 1 hour and provides unique photo opportunities unavailable elsewhere.

Best lakes of Banff National Park in one day? Mission: Possible!
Thanks to the amazing advice of one of my subscribers we got to see Lake Louise, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake and maybe even Moraine Lake (watch the video to find out if we made it) in one day.
We hiked with our two toddlers and had the best time. Lakes of Alberta is something from National Geographic. And you can see them in just one day!

- Arrived at Lake Minnewanka and did the one hour boat cruise
- Set off for the Banff Gondola and looked at the viewpoints
- Got the bus home and enjoyed our last night in Banff
