HOW TO TRAVEL IN NICARAGUA
An unforgettable two week backpacking trip to Nicaragua in 2014. Locations visited included; Managua, Big Corn Island, Little Corn Island, Granada, San Jorge, Las Islatas, Isla de Ometepe, Volcan Concepcion, Playa Santo Domingo, San Juan Del Sur, Playa Remanso, Rivas, Playa Gigante, Guacalito, Playa Santana, Popoyo, and Magnific Rock.
Highlights of the trip were hanging out with @bloggeries from stophavingaboringlife.com while on Little Corn, scuba diving with wild dolphins and night diving, climbing the 5,280 ft active volcano Concepcion in Lake Nicaragua. Other highlights included surfing in San Juan Del Sur and the other amazing northern pacific beaches including Playa Gigante, Popoyo, and the breaks at Magnific Rock. If you are lucky enough to be in San Juan Del Sur on a Sunday, you must attend the famous all day pool crawl which was epic. I missed my flight out and had to spend an extra day down here...shucks.

Surfing is fast becoming Nicaragua's main sport, with many tourists now making Nicaragua their holiday destination for the perfect mix of solitude, culture, activity and fiesta.
Our surf lessons start off by arriving to the beach and getting set up. You will then spend 20 – 30 minutes learning surfing techniques in the sand. Once you are ready, you spend the next 30 minutes, learning how to get up on the board, and catching larger waves. Depending on your current skill level, our surf instructors will teach you anything you need to know

And so my second attempt ever at learning to surf begins.... The bonus is that I'm going to some kind of paradise in the Rivas region: empty beaches, dirt roads, and plenty of fresh fish. Popoyo is the big town in the Surf Zone, which is nearby.
