Beaconsfield Mine
My visit to the Beaconsfield Mine Museum.
A lot to see and a few things to play with.
If you're Australian and over 20 you'll most likely remember the Beaconsfield mine disaster that aired all over the country in 2006.
If you aren't Australian or just don't know about this mine it's still an interesting place to visit.

TWISTS & TURNS - Beaconsfield Primary A TAMAR RIVER STORY
The WEST TAMAR ARTS GROUP (WTAG) would particularly like to thank the wonderful students at Beaconsfield Primary School, Tasmania. We hope you enjoy their Video.
The Twists and Turns 2015 Project produced a unique visual and performing arts, literacy and environmental documentation of the river seen through the eyes of its future custodians.
'TWISTS AND TURNS’ explored the emotional, artistic and ecological importance of the river. Through consultations and workshops with visiting academics the student’s were encouraged to build knowledge, share ideas and collaborate within a friendly environment ensuring rigorous learning.
The students were confronted with new experiences aimed at promoting engagement and appreciation of the Tamar River. Four artists/writers/performers advised and supported the creation of the student’s stories, under the supervision and support of teaching staff and artists from WTAG. Schools in Riverside, Exeter and Beaconsfield all participated in the Project.
Organised (& Funded) by the West Tamar Arts Group; and Beaconsfield Primary School with support from Tasmanian Regional Arts.

Beaconsfield is a small Gold Mining town 40 Klms north of Launceston in Tasmania. Population 1,200 people.
