Beijing Capital Museum / 首都博物馆
The Capital Museum / 首都博物馆 is an art museum in Beijing, China. It opened in 1981 and moved into its present building in 2006, which houses a large collection of ancient porcelain, bronze, calligraphy, painting, jade, sculpture, and Buddhist statues from imperial China as well as other Asian cultures
Part of the museum's collections were formerly housed in the Confucius Temple on Guozijian Road in Beijing.
The Capital Museum was established in 1981 with a collection of some 83,000 objects. Although the museum pales in comparison to the visitors received in other major art museums in Beijing, such as the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China, and the National Art Museum of China; it has since then became one of the leading cultural institutions in the city, with the first five months of 2007 receiving more than 166,000 visitors.
The Beijing Capital Museum today contains over 200,000 cultural relics in its collection. Only a small fraction of the collection is exhibited, and a significant percentage of the museum's art collection comprises artifacts unearthed in Beijing.

Beijing capital city of China in 2019 | JAKKA TUBE
Beijing, China’s sprawling capital, has history stretching back 3 millennia. Yet it’s known as much for modern architecture as its ancient sites such as the grand Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nearby, the massive Tiananmen Square pedestrian plaza is the site of Mao Zedong’s mausoleum and the National Museum of China, displaying a vast collection of cultural relics.
Other major attractions include the Summer Palace, the retreat of emperors with pavilions and gardens along Kunming Lake. Temple of Heaven is a park that's home to the colorful, circular Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Beijing Olympic Park, built for the 2008 games, encompasses a long promenade and Beijing National Stadium, dubbed the “Bird’s Nest” for its interlocking steel grids. The Back Lakes district offers narrow old streets (hutongs) lined with boutiques and cafes. The 798 Art District hosts cutting-edge galleries. A popular side trip is an excursion to a nearby section of
the Great Wall of China.

Flying to Beijing & Visiting the Beijing Capital Museum | 首都博物馆 | 中国/China Vlogs
Some of you have been very excited to see my Beijing vlogs, so here is the first one!
We got up super early to fly to Beijing, so we were able to see the sunrise. The sunrise was an amazing and surreal sight to see. The Chinese McCafe was super amazing as well. I was thoroughly impressed. Also, I finally got a window seat! However, I remember the plane smelling like vomit, so I had my first plane-sickness LOL #worth in the end though~
After arriving, we went to meet up with our tour guide who was super funny and down-to-earth. I love him. If I ever go back to China, I will definitely go to him. He made the entire trip that much more enjoyable. After meeting up, he took us to a cafeteria to eat, and then we went directly to the Beijing Capital Museum. To be honest, I am not too big of a museum person, but maybe it's because I'm in another country that I actually enjoyed my time.
I separated this day into two vlogs because it would be super long if I didn't. Stay tuned for part 2!
