Adventures with Belize Caving Expeditions. The Belizing.com team went on an awesome cave tubing trip with Belize Caving Expeditions. We set off to Jaguar Paw Outpost for a memorable cave tubing experience. Getting to the location took us a while. We had to hike for about twenty minutes and cross the river before reaching the entrance of the cave. Once we entered the cave, we were welcomed by the bright blue waters. We spent an hour inside the cave, slowly drifting down with the current.

Barton Creek Cave with Belize Caving Expeditions
We went to Barton Creek Cave tour with Belize Caving Expedition! It was a thirty-minute drive to get there from San Ignacio. As soon as we got there, our guides equipped us with our gears and canoes. Soon enough, we were paddling through the river of the cave and inside the heart of the towering mountain. This cave was striking! I was surprised to see human remains and pottery inside the cave, high above from water. I became impressed by how the ancient Mayas traveled inside caves like this without proper equipment.
Our guide shared with us some interesting theories and techniques that may have helped the Maya people to perform successful sacrifices deep inside the dark caves.
The tour of the cave was quite intriguing, especially the history and composition of it. We highly encourage you to book this trip with Belize Caving Expedition the next time you're in Belize.

Watch in HD! Our expectations on this cave were low... it was on the way to Caracol. Wow! What a thrill going into this cave. The massive mouth of the Rio Frio cave is its signature. On the far end of the cave was another huge opening. Being inside the dome of the cave was like being in a sports arena. Belize potentially has the largest cave system in Central America, with the dome of Rio Frio the largest in the country. Belize has an abundance of limestone rock, hence an abundance of caves.

Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM cave) Belize 2010
Actun Tunichil Muknal is a cave in Belize, near San Ignacio Cayo, notable as a Maya archaeological site that includes skeletons, ceramics, and stoneware. The most famous of the human remains is known as The Crystal Maiden, the skeleton of a teenage girl, probably a sacrifice victim, whose bones which have been completely calcified by the natural processes of the cave, leaving them with a sparkling crystallized appearance. There are several areas of skeletal remains in the main chamber.

Belize Cave Tubing - Awesome experience - Must see
We booked a Cave Tubing Excursion with Lunch from Port of Belize while on our cruise ship Carnival Glory. We met at the office next to the port. Once there we got on a bus ride that took 50 minutes to the tubing location. They gave us helmets, life vests, flashlights, and big tubes to have fun. The tube can be heavy as you have to carry it approximately half mile to the launching area. My wife got tired from carrying it. The tubing is slow and fun. There is a guide that wades through out the hole trip as he pulls and guide the tubes. I freed myself from the group as to enjoy the river, but you have to know how to float down the river. They provide lunch after tubing. Local food and fruit punch as excellent. You can buy other food and drinks too.
