Wrexham
Wrexham is a town in north Wales. It is the administrative centre of the wider Wrexham County Borough, located in the east of the region. It is situated between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley alongside the border with Cheshire, England. As the largest town in the north of Wales, it is a major centre of the region's administrative, commercial, retail and educational infrastructure.
At the time of the United Kingdom Census 2011, the Wrexham locality had a population of 61,603 as defined by the Office for National Statistics; the larger urban area had a population of 65,692, the fourth-largest in Wales.

Starburst Lizzie - 6201 'The Christmas Thames-Dee'
On reflection perhaps it was a bad idea to go to Darlaston and shoot straight into the sun as steam loco 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' passed with the Christmas Thames - Dee charter train.....
The special was bang on time and preceded by a down northbound Wrexham train.
Darlaston is about two miles north of Bescot, which is where the steamer backed onto the train.

Wrexham Mines Rescue Station - - The Blue Plaques
The blue plaques refelcted the light from a miners' lamp so they could find their way more easily. As the vide explains they were also attached to their homes so that in the event of the Rescue Team being needed at night the police could find the houses easily in the dark.
