A Day at Redondo Beach Dog Park-February, 2014
A former co-worker found this little guy running around in the street near his home back in mid July, 2011. He couldn't keep him because he & his wife had cats. He boarded him at a veterinarian's place of business. My former co-worker called me up one day & asked if I was interested in adopting this stray dog. I went & visited the dog at the vet. He was a very playful dog but I wasn't interested in adopting a dog this soon because I had just lost my last dog of 15 1/2 years who passed away March, 29th, 2011 after a lengthy illness, so I wasn't ready to have another dog just yet. Anyway to make a long story short my former co-worker convinced me to be a foster owner for a week until he could find a permanent owner. I took the dog home August 1, 2011 & ended up being the permanent owner. My wife & I decided to name him Stinker (Mischievous, trouble maker). He turned out to be a GREAT little guy!!!

This is the official Huntington Dog Beach YouTube Channel. Huntington Dog Beach (HDB) is a non-profit organization founded in 1997; our mission is to protect and preserve access to the beach for dogs and their people, as well as to promote responsible dog ownership in order to make our canine companions welcome members of society.
This video gives you the day (well a few days) in the life of a dog at Dog Beach. Zimba is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (13 months old) when we shot this video.
Zimba loves Huntington Dog Beach and so will your dog. It's a find safe place to let your dogs run free and enjoy being dogs. This video gives you an idea about how much fun Zimba has at Dog Beach. You'll see her down there most weekends.
If you love Dog Beach as much as we do, please donate using the many donation options on the website. We pay all expenses for Dog Beach and to keep it available for everyone we need your help.
Thanks from the
Dog Beach Team (& Zimba)

Coyote Attack - Graphic - Coyotes attack dog in Fountain Valley California
(YOU MAY LINK - DO NOT COPY THIS VIDEO)
*** comments with profanity will be blocked for the sake of our youth ***
On driveway, less than 10 ft from door, coyotes attack small dog. What you dont see is the other coyotes and action going on off the video camera and the screaming. But you do see the ferocity at which the coyote shakes this little dog. 4 coyotes involved. 2 large boys, one father and a girl friend, along with the little dog.
More information,
CoyotesInOrangeCounty.com
A community effort to keep children, families and pets safe.
-------------update, more detail -----------------
Had there not been a second coyote who wanted the dog, the original coyote would have dragged the little dog off and not dropped him. They were screaming at the coyotes and running from the side gate and chasing them off. The two coyotes outside of the camera range and the two on the driveway. The coyotes did not leave with all 3 men were running around making noise chasing the coyotes.
The dog when it ran away was caught again out of camera view from the side, as it ran towards its owner who was in the street chasing them off,. The young man who comes back looking at his hands is because he hurt himself after having to get the dog from the coyotes jaws. In all, two of those young guys had their hands on the coyotes to save the dog.
Everyone is okay, thankfully.
This pack of coyotes is travelling from Fountain Valley to Huntington Beach. There have been reports of 4 coyotes in both areas.
