Vegan Food Haul in Chile | Without Shopping At The Grocery Store | Concepcion
How we go shoppping for our fresh fruits and vegetables in the bio-bio region of Chile.
This is an open air market typical to Chile that happens once or twice a week. They are usually spread out in residential communities all over Chile, in order to provide food for the people, without the need to drive or take a bus. This once is less then a 5 minute walk from our apartment.

Today while standing on the balcony looking down over Plaza de Armas in Santiago de Chile city, I felt inspired to go see beautiful things. Had my sights set on the Pablo Neruda museum which turned out to be closed for the day. Wasn't an art museum anyway, just one of his former homes in the Chilean capital. Ended up doing some sightseeing in Santiago city centre which turned out to be beautiful in itself. Great day walking around Santiago Chile in the sun meeting all sorts of people finding more than a few interesting places. The small, intimate park Cerro Santa Lucia with the all round view of the city impressed me the most. Has the tomb of Benjamin Vicuna Mackena at the top. Something very South American about it which has a literary tradition in magical realism. Nice day spent sightseeing and walking around the capital of Chile. A Lot going on on the streets and there is always something to see when traveling in Santiago, go visit this Chilean city!

Tour Santiago, Chile Like a Local: Visit Lively Markets
Santiago is filled with markets and we visited four different ones with guide Christian in just one day. If you exit the Metro at Patronato and walk to the right out of the station, you'll be right in the center of the Textile Market; this is where to go for cheap anything. Walk to the left and you'll see the Mercado Vega Centrale with five different food and flower markets.
If all that isn't enough, visit the weekend Bio Bio Flea Market in Barrio Franklin but watch your belongings and take care. A salesman warned Christian in Spanish that someone was following us. Over 20 blocks of stuff along sidewalks and inside buildings is available including stolen and pirated merchandise. Still lots more to do in Santiago? You bet!

FOUND my NEW apartment to stay in Las Condes - Santiago!!! (299 | Chile Travel VLOG)
28 September 2019 - Day 37 - Persa Bio Bio
VLOG 299
My plan for Santiago is it enrol in a Spanish school and live in the city for a month or so. Hostels are not really a long term solution so today we head out to the suburbs on our first apartment inspection! ????????
With the help of mi amiga, we get some contacts and find an available room in the classy suburb of Las Condes. Located in the higher end of town, here we meet our potential house mates and have a look at the place. Place was perfect and exactly what I was looking for, plus awesome housemates que puede hablar ingles y español!
I tag along with their plans this afternoon and head out to Persa Bio Bio Markets. We are certainly in deep into the local markets of Santiago as we have lunch and try some of Chile’s finest foods like mote con huesillo y sopaipillas! ????????????
So fortunate to have landed this place straight away and safe to say I’ll be moving in here not too long from now. All I have to do is enrol into this escuela Español! ????

MOVING TO VIÑA DEL MAR CHILE - ep20
MUSIC BY:
After a week in Valparaiso it is time to move to Vina del Mar! Going to stay with a friend whom I met in Santiago before. Did some great riding on the slopes of Valparaiso and still grab some nice corners on the way out. Then it is the coastal road to Vina del Mar which has some crazy long potholes in the road. I do love living by the sea, always do. Rather live like that then being landlocked. Watch the sunset on the beach in Viña. Going to stick around in this Chilean city for a bit.

First couple of days in Santiago, Chile. Taking care of a few errands like a power adapter and money. Excessive atm fees for foreign cards seems to be the norm here. Get my first impressions of Santiago de Chile walking around the Plaza de Armas. Sleep off a night out and a minor jetlag in one go. See someone get arrested by the police, carabineros, for reasons unknown but there is a good chance he was a homeless person. There are more than a few spread around the square. My first Santiago visit.

Almost three weeks in Santiago and now it is time to ride to the next city in Chile, Valparaiso! Absolutely great to be back on the motorcycle again in a mad part of the world. Before we could head out to Valparaiso we had to go to the shipping agent and get a new bill of landing for the guys and their motorcycle which has arrived at the port of Valparaiso. After they take the bus and I ride to the Santiago airport to have a talk with customs about having some items sent over. Not before I get pulled over by the cops in no time for what turned out to be a friendly chat. At the airport I meet William Gloege from the United States who has been riding around the world the last two years on his Africa Twin. William was spent after intercontinental flying and we'll have to ride some other time. In the evening me and Alp head out in direction of Valparaiso during the sunset. Once there had a tough time finding the airbnb place but got pretty close until I spotted the guys. Whole place for ourselves on the coast. Great to be riding the motorcycle again and the first stint in South America.

The little GERMAN TOWN in Chile - PUERTO VARAS!! | 334
15 November 2019 - Day 85 - Puerto Varas | 334
If there’s one place in the world Chile and Germany meet it would be Puerto Varas! German colonisation in 1845-1850 is very evident through the architecture of the entire town. If it wasn’t for seeing Chileans speaking Spanish everywhere you’d think you were in Germany! Certainly a nice little vibrant town where the 2 cultures mix and intertwine. ????????????????
A rainy morning in Puerto Varas, we spend it in the hostel and get cracking on something that I’ve been prolonging for more than a month - my Universal Traveller Dream Job Application! ✈️????
You wouldn’t believe how long it takes to make a good 1 min video. I literally spent 5 hours in the morning putting the base of the video together (what script, what song, what clips, and what the whole video was going to look like). In the evening was another 3 hours adding transition effects, sound effects, and rendering the video and uploading!! 8hours for a 1 min video!!!! ????????????
We finally head out and explore town at 4:30pm and go for a stroll through the city centre. Another adventure town similar to Pucon, there’s plenty of activities here for the adventure seeker - volcano hikes, white water rafting, kayaking, and plenty of national park hikes all around lago llanquihue! ????????????♂️????????

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CHILE & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!
Feliz Navidad from me, Alp and Rui! Better late than never and here we are: Merry Christmas from Chile Viña del Mar and a happy new year. Have an awesome and productive 2018, go do the things you want to do! I was sick as a dock for a couple of days after Christmas and then I had a friend over so this Christmas video came a bit late. Also wanted to do it on a beautiful spot somewhere but the fuel tap is leaking and someone stole my bag of tools! So very strange post Christmas days to say the least but I'm ready for the new year now. Summer is only starting this Christmas here in Vina del Mar chile!
Thanks for joining me on this ride, it has been a busy year and your support has helped me out a lot. Have a fantastic year, start your own project and see it through until the end! Have a great new years eve and enjoy the fireworks wherever you are. Happy 2018!

NOTE: This took place a week and a half before the last Chilean election video.
MERRY CHRISTMAS/FELIZ NAVIDAD!
A Chilean took my motorcycle! Jorge flew over from New Zealand to Chile for a family affair and needed a motorcycle for the week. Alp volunteered for the ride down south and is actually going to see that part of Chile before me. That leaves me without a ride but we are going down south also to Concepcion Chile in the Bio Bio region for a few days. There the family shows me around the region of Conception like Las Tetas del Bio Bio, which literally means the tits of Bio Bio. And the little fishermans town Caleta Tumbes. Beautiful little bay with many colorful fishing boats floating around. So many stands with delicious seafood like crabs and mussels on the side of the road. We take the last boat tour of the day and follow the Tumbes coastal line for a bit and learn about the 2010 Tsunami that followed the earthquake back then. Caleta Tumbes is well worth a visit when in Conception. Check it out! A week later Jorge comes back with my motorcycle and he went back to New Zealand. It was great to see him again, especially in his native country Chile.
