Bluebell Railway - Driver's Eye View - Sheffield Park to East Grinstead
See the Bluebell Railway as the driver sees it, thanks to the locomotive crew and the Bluebell Railway kindly granting permission to attach a camera to Locomotive No.263. Travel through glorious Sussex countryside to the sound of this delightful (SECR) H Class locomotive over the entire route from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead. Locomotive No.263 was designed by Harry Wainwright in 1904 and built at Ashford Works to haul suburban passenger trains for the South Eastern and Chatham Railway.
A signal was passed at danger at 30:20 – The operations director at the Bluebell Railway asked for an explanation for this action to be included in the forward to this video - The signal was passed at danger under the authority of the signalman, because the signal had failed due to an electrical fault and the driver was in possession of the Electric Token for the section.
Filmed - 01.06.18 - Track gauge - 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in).

Bachmann, Sheffield Park, Review, Part 1.wmv
A small review on the latest Bachmann Scenecraft buildings, which replicate the buildings at Sheffield park station.
This review also shows the first building they produced for the 50th Anniversary, this was a little disappointing as there were cracks and didn't seem to of been painted well enough as the paint seems very thin and could of done with a few more coats.
The latest buildings are stunning, and well worth the money if you can afford them. With the canopy already sold out at hattons, other buildings seem to be selling very well. Best to shop around to get the best price.
Only downside to the sheffield park main building, is the gaps between the buildings, the Waiting room and toilet have a nice system where theres not much gap... sadly this wasnt replicated for the storeroom and waiting room to connect to the Booking office building.
The whole building cost £180.73
The canopy and the storeroom were brought from ebay. totalling £66 (£33 each)
Booking office, signal cabin, waiting room + toilet, were all purchased from the signal box, which were the cheapest I found.
sheffield park to east grinstead part 1
[Gr Pro camera on the side of the train] join us as we leave Sheffield Park on a glorious bank holiday on an unedited ride on probably the best preserved railway in southern England. Calling at Horstead Keynes [2 mins] through Sharpethorne tunnel, the longest tunnel on a preserved railway and on to Kingscote station, through the newly opened cutting, over the Imberhorne viaduct and into East Grinstead station.

Lot of nice steam effects from the Black 5 , cant think if this has happened before a steam loco on each end . Great to see though hope they do it more often.

Sheffield Park Garden East Sussex
This has to be one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever visited. I made this film on 11th June 2010. Sheffield Park is owned by The National Trust and is an internationally renowned landscape garden laid out in the 18th century by Capability Brown and further developed in the 20th century by Arthur G Soames.

The Bluebell Railway 2018
The volunteer-run Bluebell Line was the UK's first preserved standard gauge passenger railway, re-opening part of the Lewes to East Grinstead line of the old London Brighton & South Coast Railway in 1960. Since then it has developed into one of the largest tourist attractions in Sussex, yet it still remains true to its objectives of the preservation for posterity of a country branch line, its steam locomotives, coaches and goods stock, signalling systems, stations and operating practices.
A steam train ride on the Bluebell is one of the top things to do with kids on holiday for a day out in Sussex (the line crosses the border between East Sussex and West Sussex, and is not far from Surrey). This heritage railway is close to Haywards Heath, Gatwick Airport, Uckfield, Brighton and Lewes, in the Ashdown Forest/Mid Sussex area of England. Your children will love to take our vintage steam rail trip during your vacation.

Photo Walk Around Sheffield Park & Gardens in East Sussex
In this video I visit Sheffield Park and Gardens in East Sussex and go on a photo walk around the grounds capturing the beautiful scenes within the grounds. It was a very hot day, and was a challenging video to make as was very busy, and at sometimes I was so warm I felt like my batteries were dying.
