Cheltenham to Bourton on the Water Cotswolds England By Bus 2018
COTSWOLDS ENGLAND July, 2018. This bus trip from Cheltenham to Bourton on the Water shows off the magnificent Cotswold countryside.
Lets All Go To .. The Cotswolds
Harline just had her Canon 80D delivered, so we thought we would head out to put it through its paces in the Cotswolds.
The Cotswolds is part of south central England covering 6 counties, mainly Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Its rolling hills and villages built of the distinctive local yellow limestone make it a popular place with local and foreign tourists.
Our first port of call was the Broadway Tower, which is the highest Castle in the Cotswolds. Built in the 18th Century and designed by Capability Brown and James Wyatt, it gave a dramatic outlook on a pre-medieval trading route and beacon hill. It was completed in 1798.
The Royal Observer Corps used the unique vantage point to track enemy planes over England during World War 2 and later constructed a nuclear bunker to report nuclear attacks during the “Cold War”.
However, we visited on the coldest day of the year so far, but with the cold winds blowing on top of the tower, it didn't stop us taking in the awesome panoramic views of the local countryside.
So then it was off to Bourton-on-the-Water, a picturesque village which has been described as the Little Venice: of the Cotswolds. It has a number of small bridges straddling the small river that runs through the center of the village.
We had lunch at the Kingsbridge Inn, which is right beside the river, but because it was still too cold, we ate inside.
Afterwards, we walked the length of the river hopping across the mini bridges and watching as other visitors fed the hungry ducks.
A cold but very pleasant day out.

Visiting A Quaint Little Village - Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds, England (Day #07)
Visiting A Quaint Little Village - Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds, England (Day #07)
#corkboardtv #cotswolds #bourtononthewater
Hello my peeps!
To day we took a little trip to a quaint little village of Bourton-on-theWater in Cotswolds, England. The building and shops there are all made from the quarry causing the buildings to look the same over a period of time. The river runs through the centre of town and has many shops. I have provided more details from Wikipedia below.
I am getting to as many comments and videos as time permits. I am on vacation and internet is sketchy at best. I will like all comments but to reply may be a stretch until I get a more solid connection. I haven't forgotten about you all. ???? Thanks for your patience!
Like, comment, and share!
Until I see you again...
Cheers,
Scott
Wikipedia Info:
The Cotswolds is an area in south central and south west England comprising the Cotswold Hills, a range of rolling hills that rise from the meadows of the upper Thames to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn Valley and Evesham Vale. The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden-coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens.
Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1966, the Cotswolds covers 787 square miles (2,040 km2) and is the second largest protected landscape in England (second to the Lake District) and the largest AONB. Its boundaries are roughly 25 miles (40 km) across and 90 miles (140 km) long, stretching south-west from just south of Stratford-upon-Avon to just south of Bath. It lies across the boundaries of several English counties; mainly Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, and parts of Wiltshire, Somerset, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. The highest point of the region is Cleeve Hill at 1,083 ft (330 m), just east of Cheltenham.
The hills give their name to the Cotswold local-government district, formed on 1 April 1974, which administers over half of the area. Most of the District is in the county of Gloucestershire; some 80% of it is within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The main town is Cirencester and the Cotswold District Council offices are located in that community. The population of the 450-square-mile (1,200 km2) District was about 83,000 in 2011. The much larger area referred to as the Cotswolds encompasses nearly 800 square miles (2,100 km2), over five counties: Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire. The population of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was 139,000 in 2016.

????STOW-ON-THE-WOLD & MORETON-IN-MARSH | COTSWOLDS ENGLAND VANLIFE!!????
It's day 3 of our van trip to the Cotswolds in England and we are going to the famous Stow-on-the-Wold!
I think that similarly to Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold is a picturesque village/town in the heart of the Cotswolds and is one of the must see places.
To be honest we walked around in an hour and yes it is lovely and there were plenty of cafes and shops to look around if that's your thing, but at the end of the day it's just a small town, not much else to see lol. We decided to have lunch in the van and then go up the road to a place called Moreton-in-Marsh.
Again, not much going on there either but there is a place called Batsford Arboretum which we believe is a garden centre/garden display or something. It was nearly £20 for us to go in so we decided against going but there was a walk from Moreton-in-Marsh across the fields which was 1.5 miles so we thought that would be nice.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did then don't forget to hit the thumbs up button and subscribe to our channel for more great videos every weekend and quite often during the week too, it's mostly the weekends though just the odd extra thrown in! :)
