Pogues Tribute Live at Boyle's of Slane
A rainy night in Soho with aerial footage of The Hill Of Slane
The Hill of Slane, standing about half a kilometre north-west of the village of Slane is an important complex of prehistoric, early historic and medieval monuments. The hilltop rises to 158m OD and boasts spectacular views of the landscape of Co. Meath.
Best known for its association with St Patrick, our national patron saint, the Hill of Slane is traditionally regarded as the location where
St Patrick lit the first Pascal Fire in 433 AD in defiance of pagan King Laoighre, the King of Tara. The site later became an important monastery, similar to that at Monasterboice, which was founded by St Erc, and had its own high crosses and round tower. Later again, the first Slane Castle was constructed on the top of the Hill. With commanding views over the surrounding landscape this was an earthen motte castle rather than a stone castle.
Jaméire boyles of slane
Jameire jamming in Boyles, Slane, Co. Meath (Jan '14)...Dorian rapping over Damien Marleys 'Jamrock'.
Jaméire are a six piece reggae band hailing from Louth, Meath, Dublin and Mozambique. Expect to hear all the Bob Marley favourites and some of the lesser known gems when Jaméire take a trip through the early days of ska with the likes of Simmer Down all the way to the later hits such as Buffalo Soldier and Iron Lion Zion. The show is mainly a tribute to the legend himself but don't be surprised to hear a few classics by the likes of Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Manu Chao, The Specials, or a set of Skatellite style instrumentals.
The members have all played in various different bands throughout the country and have now been brought together by a mutual love for the original Jamaican style of reggae. Fronting a reggae band was a natural progression for the lead singer/rhythm guitarist Dorian Bordalo with his background in Samba percussion and world music. Arriving in Navan from Mozambique via Portugal he decided to form the band after years of hearing Hey Bob! on the streets of Ireland.
Drums, Bass/lead guitars/keyboards and trombone are provided by David Quail, Alun Smyth, Derek Murphy, Fintan Crehan and Jim Clarke respectively. True to the original Jamaican reggae style, Jaméire are bringing Bob Marley's message of love, freedom and hope to these uncertain times.

CAS Cold Dark Sky MUSIC VIDEO HD
COLD DARK SKY
My oh my how time flies I turned around and you were gone
If we knew then what we know now would we do things differently
And I don't know why I didnt try or maybe even turn around
But I did this all for you and all that we went through
But yes I would go back in time
Cos I would trade all the stars in my cold dark sky
Just to go back again
And Lord I tried I really cried
When I thought of all the times we had
But nothing lasts forever everything must pass
But I know we will dance again
Cos I would trade all the stars in my cold dark sky
Just to go back again
Cos I would trade everything my life, my soul, my sins,
Just to go back again.

Baum bio: Artist Bio
Hooray! I just recorded my latest studio album at The Cutting Room/NYC with producers Patrick Ermlich and Eshy Gazit. They're fantastic guys: Patrick is Paul at Starbucks, and Eshy's the owner of the Eshy Move.
I've been on tour with Van Morrison, The John Butler Trio, Gavin DeGraw, and Teitur. They brought me to Germany, Austria, and bigger venues in Switzerland. Peter Gabriel's music platform We7 listened to Live at Kongresshaus Zurich and presented me as an up-and-coming artist. Well, that's pretty cool for a Swiss. Neil Young picked my song One Day You Will Return for his Living With War Today campaign. I don't want to toot my own horn, but Neil Young is pretty cool too, honestly.
After having released three albums with my former band Outland - and having gotten awarded as Best European Breakthrough Artist at London Music Week, I've now been at the Cutting Room Studios New York, with wonderful people like Adam Levy (he used to play for Norah Jones and I'd take him as my brother any time - or my uncle, my grandfather, my son - he's unique and also a bloody gifted guitarist), Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley's drummer, which is not so important because he's the best drummer I've ever worked with), Annekei (Miss Denmark who lives in New York and is big in Japan; everything she does is perfect), Misty Boyce (a New Mexico-native and New York-based singer-songwriter; we wrote Couldn't hurt you more in 4 hours), Yoed Nir (the cellist - I truly adore his abilities), Dara Hirsch (a lovely and great singer; a heart on two legs) and very huggable people like Matt Craig (my younger brother), Jeff Schram, Alex and all the others. Plus I've already mentioned Patrick and Eshy. They know how to do it. And that's good.
