NEW Airguns: British Shooting Show 2018 - Pellet Pushers Report
New Airguns: British Shooting Show 2018 - Pellet Pushers Report. I visited the British Shooting Show 2018 at the NEC in Birmingham. This is a public show, for everyone to get the chance to look, hold and shoot some of the newest arrivals to the market. I visited Daystate, Brocock, MTC Optics, FX ( ASI ) Weihrauch, Umarex, Rowan Engineering, Air Arms, Highland Outdoors for Webley and Sig Sauer, Braces Of Bristol also had a stand for the first time showcasing the Javelin Bipod. Filmed over 3 days and put together in no particular order, so you will see shirts change in random, this was a thoroughly enjoyable day. The end of the third day was ruined by a small man in a yellow high vis jacket, who clearly felt if you have a walkie talkie you can be rude and aggressive to clear the halls.....great advert for the NEC, NOT.
These are all the things I saw and think we shall see in the shops in the next few months ( if not already )
2018 is going to be a great year for us air gunners.....so so much to choose from, which is best, my top tip, go hold them, if it feels right its for you.
Please visit all the people who got involved in my video.

Fieldsports Britain - Big Squirrel Hunt
With spring underway and songbirds starting the long struggle to raise their broods, it's a good time of year to go out and shoot grey squirrels. Gamekeeper Paul Childerley and his buddy Scott are doing just that, with Remington semi-auto and pump, in woodlands around their Bedfordshire shoot. Jamie Chandler is on pest control duty, too. He is out on the farm in Hampshire looking for pigeons and, of course, squirrels. Plus he has the new BSA Defiant bullpup air rifle to try. There's Hunting YouTube and David is on the News Stump in this week's #FieldsportsBritain

Fieldsports Britain - Crunch Week for Pigeonshooting
The UK government may or may not restrict pigeonshooting and other pest control this week. It all depends what we, the shooters, tell them. There are three ways to get your message across to the bureaucrats:

Despite what the British government is trying to do to shooting, we are out learning new skills. Browning asks up to the long-range facility at WMS Firearms in Wales in order to show off their rifles, with expert tuition from Andrew Venables. Fieldsports Britain - Marauding Stags
Summertime for Scottish deerstalkers is a time to make plans. Which deer must be shot - and which will go on to be the fathers and mothers of future herds. In part two of our series A Year in the Life of Highland Sport, Niall Rowantree from Ardnamurchan is looking at what he has got on his ground - and dealing with stags that are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Plus Charlie's in London to watch Natural England get hauled in front of a UK parliamentary committee to explain itself over the general licences chaos. Hunting filmmaker Alberto Rizzini is just back from Kazakhstan and gives us a behind-the-scenes look at his beautiful new film. And you can win a catapult worth £50 - and practically weighing 50lb :). News and Hunting YouTube round off this week's bumper #FieldsportsBritain.

Fieldsports Britain - Hare Hunting in the Heat
Tim Pilbeam is off to sample farm pest control jobs in Argentina - stalking axis deer and lamping hares. When you run a farm in the tropics, there's a huge weight of wildlife that wants to munch your pasture and your crops - and the heat doesn't make it any easier. Accompanied by Carlos, Tim has his work cut out. Meanwhile, Andy Crow tries a sim clay day in Shropshire. It's the fastest-growing fun clay shoot of its kind - and it needs plenty of technique, as he and competition shot Brody Woollard find out. Fieldsports Britain - Wallaby Control
Scottish deerstalker Niall Rowantree is in New Zealand to deal with a local pest problem. Wallabies and possums, imported from Australia and released, are wreaking havoc on the islands. He shows what a problem agricultural pests can be. Plus we find out the latest on the general licences debacle: Natural England has banned the shooting of pigeons and crows. What are BASC and the Countryside Alliance doing about it? And Charlie is off to meet a shoot tailor. Fieldsports Britain - How the Dutch cope with general licences
As the UK general licences chaos continues, we go to the Netherlands to see how they shoot pest birds there. We join shooters Igor Timmermans and Bastian Maris on a morning after Canada, Egyptian, greylag and barnacle geese. It's just across the water from the UK but completely different rules. Meanwhile, top shot Ben Husthwaite looks at gun mount and how to glue that stock to your shoulder, Charlie heads off with Andy Crow to Northern Ireland for a country show, there's News and Hunting YouTube rounds off this week's #FieldsportsBritain.

UNLIMITED AIR: Airgun Recharging - Air Venturi Home Compressor
UNLIMITED AIR: PCP Airgun Recharging - Air Venturi Home Compressor - GREAT NEWS - UK buyers can now get a compressor from the USA, 240V, and even better news mentioning this review and having a delivery address in the UK gets you another $100 off. This is to go against the import duty when buying the compressor. When purchasing email and use the code Giles Barry Review or Airgun Gear Discount, or mention in the comments section on the order.
** Discount only for UK buyers with UK delivery address.
All PCP airgun shooters need air, and in the UK, maybe due to our climate we don't have a vast array of dive shops, and if you don't live just down the road from your local RFD, then you need to keep that rifle topped up at home. This compressor could be the answer for you.
3L bottle top up from 200-300 bar in 15 mins, and a 480cc bottle in 4 minutes. Costing on my home tariff less that 30p per hour to run.

Fieldsports Britain - Tim's crackers about carbon rifles
New materials are revolutionising rifles. The same carbon technology that's creating amazing new bicycles, tennis rackets and fishing rods has come to guns. Tim gathers together seven examples, from Browning, Blaser, Sako, Sauer, Mauser and Dane & Co, gives them all the once-over and looks at increasing his carbon footprint. We are also reporting form the Isle of Wight, where birds kill 200 lambs this season on a single farm - and now Natural England wants to release 60 sea eagles there. In his Smokin' Targets series, Ben Husthwaite has a simple tip for clay shooters: use your core not your hands when trying to get on to the target. Plus there's News and Hunting YouTube in this week's #FieldsportsBritain.

Fieldsports Britain - Paul goes intercontinental calling
We know Paul can call in bucks to his clients in his native Bedfordshire (and we give that a go just to make sure he is on song) - but can he do the same with a duiker ram in South Africa? Paul takes guest Claes Björksten from Sako rifles out after muntjac - then Nico Els in the Eastern Cape takes Paul out after antelope. Nico has never seen anyone call in an animal like this. That's not all. It's World Environment Day and to celebrate, we look at hunting clothing with strong green credentials - and it's rather old-fashioned. We have a Fieldsports Nation exclusive offer - 30% off a pair of ear defenders (link below). And there's News and there's Hunting YouTube in this week's #FieldsportsBritain.

Fieldsports Britain - Scottish Deer on the Line
What's the deer's biggest enemy in the Highlands of Scotland? Man? Wolves? No - it's the steam engine. In the first in his new series, A Year in the Life of Highland Sport, deer manager Niall Rowantree explains why the 'Jacobite' steam train is driving out deer from the Highlands and what can be done about it. Plus, meet Dr Cathy Mayne, ecologist and deerstalker, who helps with the science at Ardnamurchan. Back in the South of England, Roy Lupton tears himself away from his birds of prey to deal with foxes taking lambs. He is using thermal and lamp. There's Hunting YouTube and David is on the News Stump in this week's #FieldsportsBritain

Fieldsports Britain - Monster Close-Range Wild Boar Hunting
Incredible close-up wild boar hunting action as a follow-up team takes to the marshes on an island off Sweden that's being ravaged by the animals. They shoot one large boar at a range of just a few inches. Roy Lupton and Jason Doyle are there with Aimpoint on one of the most testing wild boar outings they have had. Meanwhile, Andy Crow is on a major pigeon day in Oxfordshire with some of the best-known people in the sport, roost shooting in woodland. There's Hunting YouTube, David is on the News Stump, and we have the link for our FREE rifle range days: the Fieldsports Skills Days in Salisbury, Bristol, Skipton, and in Fife throughout summer 2019. All this and more, in this week's #FieldsportsBritain

Fieldsports Britain - General Licences Havoc
Crow's out after jackdaws just before the government withdraws the general licences. He has a good day - but he explains what the havoc caused by Chris Packham means for farmers. Cai Ap Bryn is cooking pigeon and rabbit, and showing how to do it to a group of people who didn't realise wild meat is so accessible. Charlie meets a knifemaker who reveals what to look for when you are buying a knife. And David has news of sea eagles taking lambs and, of course, more on Chris Packham on the News Stump. EXTREME BENCHREST 2017 - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly + Doris The Unicorn
Finally, I have finished the edit for my trip to The Extreme Benchrest 2017. Possibly the biggest video I have ever uploaded. I could not decide if I should split it into parts of just go for the full upload in one......I chose the later.
Traveling to the United States with Andrew, Ben, Ross and later Terence I had an amazing time. The people we met along the way were simply the best. Even though while I travelled I was quite poorly with a throat infection, the events fun made me push through to have a simply awesome time.

WE NEED more British teams to go across next year. To give you an idea, the trip cost me this year around £1800. But if you can get a few of you to go that can be reduced. It is without a once in a lifetime trip, and if your into airguns it will blow your mind. Everyone is so friendly and the days don't stop when the sun goes down. It would be good to have more Brits go across, and I think a better shooter from the UK than me could win.........
Always shoot safely and show consideration to others around you, this review is designed entirely as an independent review.

Fieldsports Britain - Paul's holiday hunt
What do gamekeepers do in March? They go on holiday. For Paul, it's a safari in the Eastern Cape, shooting plains game including a lovely bushbuck. He is in the hands of expert guide Nico Els. It is the latest in his Barrels & Brass series with Sako of Finland. He is using a Sako 85 Carbon Wolf and Powerhead II rounds. Meanwhile, Wayne Martin is back in the UK, showing what makes a great mooch with a catapult around woodland. You can have the same amount of fun whichever end of hunting you enjoy.
