Brough Castle Britains Greatest Ice Cream in the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria
The Cafe is situated in the grounds of Brough Castle or Verterae (Roman Name) which dates back to 1100 a.d and was built primarily to stop the Scots using the Eden Valley and the Stainmore Pass across the Pennines as an invasion route to the Vale of York
A warm welcome awaits you at Brough Castle Ice Cream Parlour.
We invite you to sample our wonderful range of delicious Luxury Ice Creams made from milk from the farm cows. Choose from any of the 16 flavours which change daily, something for everyone.
The extensive menu includes Sorbets, traditional flavours as well as some Innovative flavours designed by our daughters Rachel, Sarah and Hannah who run the business.
We pasteurise our own milk which is produced twice daily on the farm to manufacture the Ice Cream. The batch freezer can make up to 15litres of Artisan Ice Cream per mix. We vary the different flavours each week and make a seasonal specials using local produce wherever possible. To date we have made over 300 different varieties of Ice Cream and Sorbet.
