Buller Court on Parlmerston motel is a 3-minute drive from both NBS Theatre and Coaltown Museum. It is a 12-minute drive from Cape Foulwind Seal Colony.
All rooms and apartments feature a satellite flat-screen TV and a DVD player. Most have a patio with garden views and a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator. Some have a dining area.
A Guide to Westport, New Zealand
I spent a few days in Westport, New Zealand during my travels. While in this rainy West Coast town that I witnessed many people passing over. I really enjoyed it and wanted to share it with you.
There is the beach and all the water sports and activities that you would expect. Westport is know for being a good surf spot in New Zealand so take to the waves if you're up to it.
There are also paths and bushwalks if you prefer to stay on land like the Millennium Walkway and the Cape Foulwind Walkway. And of course, there is the seal colony to see near Cape Foulwind.

Today we are in the West Coast town of Westport in the South Island! Nearby is the popular New Zealand short walk, the Cape Foulwind Walkway!
We drive just about 10km out of Westport to find the one-way Cape Foulwind Walkway. You can either begin at Tauranga Beach or at the opposite end near the lighthouse. We begin at the Cape Foulwind Lighthouse.
The Cape Foulwind walk takes us through low-lying coastal vegetation toward the Cape Foulwind Lighthouse. Information panels tell us stories of the history and geology of Cape Foulwind. The Cape Foulwind Walk is super well-maintained with tar-sealed and wide walking track making it extremely accessible. We follow the Cape Foulwind track which gives amazing views of the rugged West Coast and its coastal cliffs along the way.
As we reach Tauranga Beach, we see a huge viewing platform for a seal colony. Down on the rocks below we get an awesome view of the Cape Foulwind seals.
As Cape Foulwind is a one-way track, we return the way we came making it about 2-hours long.

56 Blackball to Blackball: Pike River Tribute Ride Part 02
On the afternoon of 19 November 2010, an explosion ripped through the remote Pike River mine on the West Coast of the South Island, killing 29 men. Their bodies have not been recovered, and they remain in the mine.
The Tribute 29 Pike River Memorial Run begins and ends at the Formerly the Blackball Hilton country hotel. Leaving Blackball riders head to the coast toward Greymouth to follow the coast road up to Punakaiki for the first stop of the day. Then it is onto Westport, stopping just outside of Westport to gather and ride as a group into town.
After lunch, riders enjoy the twisty Buller Gorge Road stopping at Berlins Café, before continuing onto Reefton. From Reefton there is a short stop at the Ikamatua Hotel before stopping in at the Pike River Memorial, to pay tribute to those who lost their lives. In 2017 around 200 riders participated in the event.
Video footage from Westport back to the Blackball Hilton was too shaky to use, due to the patchy and uneven road surface, so we have improvised with still shots and short video footage.

Welcome to my ADDICTION.....FISHING!
A quick 24hour mission over to my dads place on the West Coast of the South Island.
Target species was a few snapper to keep the freezer stocked over winter.
The ocean was absolutely teaming with kahawai and they were bubbling on the surface for hundreds of meters all around us! This made it quite difficult to try and get the baits,lures to the bottom!
In the end it was a successfull mission overall!

GoPro Studio isn't running well on my computer so spending the time I have already on editing this to this stage is all I can be bothered with...
AB 608 Centennial S.I Tour Day 13: Greymouth to Westport 31/10/2015
On Saturday 31 October 2015, Day 13 of the AB 608 Centennial South Island Rail Tour, AB 608 Passchendaele ran her Tour Train Numbered X017 along the line from Greymouth to Westport. Firstly, I captured AB 608 Passchendaele sitting in Greymouth's Elmer Lane yard and then departing Elmer Lane yard. Then I walked around Greymouth getting shots of a few 2 foot wagons, the clock tower, the old Greymouth wharf, a P class locomotive mural on a Greymouth building and the Greymouth signal box. AB 608 started her trip from Greymouth to Westport with a false start (Station departure) photo runby at Greymouth station and is seen departing Greymouth station, coming to a stop after the photo runby, and then leaving Greymouth continuing the journey to Westport. I captured AB 608 going alongside the highway entering Stillwater, going through Kamaka, going over the Camptown Rd crossing in the Arnold Valley, going over the Ahaura River bridge and going over a few small bridges in Ikamatua. I got a shot of a 2 foot wagon, the Mawheraiti station and AB 608 Storming past the Mawheraiti Station. At Reefton I got some shots of the Reefton station, the station sign, AB 608 arriving into Reefton station, sitting at Reefton station, propelling the tour train back a short distance so AB 608 Passchendaele could be topped up with water and after AB 608 had been topped up with water she came back into the station so the passengers could get back on board the tour train. AB 608 is then captured departing Reefton, propelling the tour train for a photo runby at Larry's Creek, going over the Larry's Creek river bridge, going over the Inangahua Landing river bridge and AB 608 preforming another false start (station arrival) photo runby at Inangahua Station. I then captured AB 608 entering the Buller Gorge as she goes over the first bridge of the Buller river, going across the Fern Arch bridge in the lower Buller Gorge, going through Charleston further along in the lower Buller Gorge, AB 608 Passchendaele arriving into Westport with her tour train, sitting in Westport yard, beginning to run around the tour train, sitting next to a pair of flax trees for a few photos and finally continuing to run around the tour train.
