The high season officially begins the second week of October, although this year it was a few days ahead with the arrival of three cruise ships at the same time with six thousand passengers.
What does it mean to be the high season?
That is the perfect time to visit and live in Los Cabos!
The rains begin to move away, although the hurricane season ends in November, the heat drops but the water temperature is perfect for activities such as snorkeling and scuba diving on beaches such as Santa Maria, included in the Blue Flag list, as Chileno, Acapulquito, Corsario, Palmilla, Las widows, and El médano, among others.
When you see that blue flag it means that that beach is clean, has excellent water quality, its habitat is protected and there are lifeguards and other safety measures.
The high season also means that the whale shark season starts, from October to April, and whale watching, from December to April. The possibility of watching these beautiful animals has made Los Cabos one of the favorite destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.
In a recent interview, the general director of the Fideicomiso de Turismo de Los Cabos, Rodrigo Esponda, said that the area is the fastest-growing tourist destination in the country, with 3 million visitors in 2018, a figure that will grow this year between 6 and 7 percent in international visitors.
Also on October 22 the Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournaments takes place and makes Los Cabos the center of the sport fishing.
And what can we expect? The opening of luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons, which began operations on October 1.

Garza Blanca Los Cabos has officially opened in the golden zone in the middle of Los Cabos corridor. This is yet another luxury resort with a family-friendly all-inclusive option. Each large suite has ocean views and hammocks on the balconies. Junior suites start at $370 per night. Their large three bedroom oceanfront suite is 4,200 sq and starts at $1400 per night.
Montage Los Cabos
The location of the new Montage is on Santa Maria Bay and may have no equal. This half moon bay is one of the best snorkeling beaches in all of the Baja, an oasis in the heart of the Los Cabos corridor. The combination of their sumptuous suites, extravagant spa, wonderful pools, an ideal beach location makes this one of the top resorts in the world. Deluxe suites start at $700 per night. “Every act of creation,” noted artist Pablo Picasso, “is first an act of destruction.” That adage certainly seems true in regards to one of the most remarkable chapters in recent Los Cabos history, as the widespread destruction of Hurricane Odile in 2014 kicked off an unprecedented building boom that three years later continues to transform the coastlines of cape cities Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.
Not only did existing hotels and resorts in the area take advantage of the forced downtime following the Category-4 storm to organize upgrades and renovations, but larger hospitality brands took advantage of the new growth friendly economic climate to launch their own luxury projects. Between 2014 and 2018 it is estimated that 4000 new hotel rooms will have come online in Los Cabos, pushing capacity from 14,000 to 18,000. That’s a whopping 28% percent increase, but sheer numbers only tell part of the story.
Big-name brands are moving in with a vengeance. Ritz-Carlton and Four seasons are scheduled to open properties in the region within the next year, the former at Puerto Los Cabos, the latter at La Ribera on the Los Cabos municipality’s spectacular East Cape. Le Blanc and parent company Palace Resorts also plan to open a Los Cabos based resort later this year, following the success of their flagship Mexican property in Cancún. Hard Rock and Nobu are slated to open resorts at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas in 2018.
Not all the high-profile properties, however, are still under construction. Some of the most spectacular ones have already opened.

The best time o buy in Cabo is any time, any month and any season of the year!
Some buyers think that summer is the best season to buy their dream home, but if you’re a buyer going into the Cabo market in the summer thinking that you’re going to get this screaming deal, don’t be with your expectations so high.
Be realistic, maybe you will find that one or two sellers that are looking to unload, they’re not getting the traffic that they’re hoping because it’s the summer months and you might be able to get it for 3 to 5 percent lower than what we’re typically selling our properties for.

Cabo San Lucas (known as Cabo for short) is a city at the far southern end of Baja California Sur, Mexico. Cabo is a varied destination that captures the essence of Baja Peninsula in its many resorts, championship golf courses, world-class dining and amazing outdoor activities.
The Cabo area is now considered the second fastest growing resort destination in all of Mexico. It is particularly busy with visitors during the winter high season, November to February. With some of the best all-around sport fishing in the world and every water sport imaginable, Cabo is the ultimate destination for travelers looking for outdoor adventure.
There are three major areas in Cabo:
San Jose del Cabo, the Old Town, which is nearest to the airport. San Jose has old Mexico charm and some shining new resorts.
Cabo San Lucas, the Main Town, which is 20-some miles southwest from the airport at the end of Baja, and the entertainment hub of Cabo. The famous arch, El Arco, is in Cabo San Lucas.
The Corridor, the highway which connects San Jose and Cabo San Lucas, which is now lined with golf courses, condos and resorts that hug the stunning coastline.
By night, Cabo San Lucas is one of the hottest party towns in North America with a glittering nightlife and a plethora of dining options that make energetic Cabo San Lucas an all-time favorite. Also called Cabo San “Loco” or just plain “Cabo”, the town’s reputation as the wild party center of the Baja Peninsula has brought fame and infamy to its many bars and nightclubs.
There is lot of public bus to go around. the easiest one is a bus between Cabo San Lucas and the airport in San Jose del Cabo (Ruta del Desierto). running every 20min from 5AM to 11PM the fare is 80 Pesos (as of December 2016). Pickup and drop-off points are Terminal 1, Puerto Paraiso Plaza respectively.
Filled with natural landmarks and a number of prominent monuments, the city of Cabo San Lucas has plenty of character, particularly around its coastline. From January to March, a must see is the whales, they come to Cabo during this period of time and many boats can take you out to sea to watch them. In early March, they are particularly abundant.
