Band take positive message to schools

Fly Chix performed at Eldomain High School on a tour with protex bath soap. The national Protex Fly Chix School Tour started recently. The idea behind it is to help pupils understand that cleanliness is not just about a bar of soap, but about loving yourself and therefore caring about others and your environment. The soap brand chose the four babes from the up-and-coming pop group to spread that message in the campaign among schools. The first school area they chose in the nationwide tour was Eldorado Park, a formerly coloured area in greater Joburg. The idea was simple. Set up a sound system, perform their track Loving Myself, give a little talk on positivity, hand out bars of soap and then leave the pupils to continue with their day.

Groote Schuur Hospital Innovation Programme - Showcase & Selection Day
Groote Schuur Hospital (GSH) Management, the UCT Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship based at UCT’s Graduate School of Business and the UCT Faculty of Health Sciences held the GSH Innovation Programme’s Innovation Showcase and Selection Day on Wednesday 18th February 2015.
17 teams presented their solutions/innovations to the hospitals most pressing challenges and eight were selected for further funding and development, in total over R900000 was awarded to these eight projects.
