Cape Tryon Lighthouse
This is the lighthouse currently in operation at Cape Tryon, north of French River, Prince Edward Island. The lighthouse is located at the end of a long dirt lane, which often washed out in places. The structure dates from 1967 and replaced an earlier lighthouse which was relocated and re-purposed as a summer home.
The square, pyramidal tower stands 12.4 metres (40.7 feet) tall, has a focal plane of 33.4 metres (110 feet), and exhibits a two-second flash every six seconds.

The Cascumpec Lighthouse is located on Sandy Island just off the north shore of Prince Edward Island near the town of Alberton.
There is no access to this island. The video was taken from the shore at several points about 1.5 to 1.7 km away.

Over the last week I have gone on a couple winter hikes and figured I would highlight the beauty of PEI in the winter time. The hikes included to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Co., Cape Tryon Lighthouse, French River and New London Lighthouse.

Cape Bear Lighthouse, Prince Edward Island
This is the Cape Bear Lighthouse located on the Shore of the Northumberland Strait in Kings County, Prince Edward Island. The Cape Bear Lighthouse has been in existance since 1881. The lighthouse is a square three story tower, it has gabled windows at each level on three sides of the structure. The light is 23 metres above the water, while the tower itself stands at 12 metres.
POSITION 46 00 10.7 N 62 27 36.4 W. Located on the headland at the southeasternmost point of the Island near Beach Point
The Marconi station located at Cape Bear has the distinction of being the first Canadian land station to hear the SOS of the Titanic as she sank in 1912.

August Light: Cycling from Gaudreau's studio around Rustico Bay, Prince Edward Island
August 20 the sunrise was golden matching the ripening grain swaying in the fields! Perfect for a quick cycle from the studio heading around Grand Pere Point Road, then up the Church Road around to the Buntain Road. In Rustico August is the time of magical light with the angle of the sun highlighting the fields of grain and the golden flowers - golden rod, brown eyed susans, and wild sun flowers. A time of year reminding you it is time to put in the firewood for the winter months as fall is just around the corner.! But of course we have perfect kindling from our woodworking studio! woodmagic.ca

This is the New London, Prince Edward Island, rear range lighthouse. It has been in operation since the lights in the tower were first lit on October 1, 1876.
