I recently visited Qazvin in Iran (February 2019) and I was there for half a day. This video is about my trip from Tehran to Qazvin. I was able to visit the following places:

Caravanserai Sa'd al Saltaneh, Pusat Perdagangan Qazvin Iran
Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh adalah caravanserai besar yang terletak di jantung kota Qazvin di Provinsi Qazvin, Republik Islam Iran dan dibangun di masa dinasti Qajar. Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh merupakan caravanserai terbesar di dunia dan salah satu dari beberapa caravanerai di Iran yang memiliki banyak kamar/ruangan termasuk tempat untuk kamar mandi, tempat peristirahatan, pasar, masjid dan kafe.
Caravanserai ini mulai dibangun di akhir dinasti Nasiruddun Shah Qajar tahun 1310 Hs dan setelah dua tahun berlalu, dua arsitek dari Isfahan dan dua arsitek dari Qazvin berhasil menyelesaikan pembangunan tersebut.
Menyusul hubungan baik di bidang ekonomi antara Iran dengan sejumlah negara sekitarnya, Mohammad Baghir Khan Sa'd al-Saltaneh, gubernur kota Qazvin di masa itu memerintahkan untuk membangun sebuah caravanserai. Bangunan ini didirikan di atas tanah seluas sekitar 2,7 hektar dan memiliki 400 kamar (ruangan/toko).
Sa'd al-Saltaneh yang panggilannya menjadi sebutan bagi caravanserai ini adalah salah satu tokoh di masa Qajar yang berkuasa di kota Qazvin selama 10 tahun dalam dua periode pemerintahan. Selama kekuaasannya ini, dia telah melakukan banyak pembangunan bagi warga kota Qazvin.
Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh merupakan pusat utama perdagangan di kota Qavin. Tempat peristirahatan yang terkenal adalah Qaysariye, Negar al-Saltaneh dan Beheshtian. Caravanserai tidak sekadar tempat istirahat bagi masyarakat yang dalam perjalanan, namun juga tempat perdagangan yang penting. Oleh karena itu, bangunan ini dilengkapi dengan ruang untuk toko, rumah pemandian dan masjid.
Di masa lalu, Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh berfungsi sebagai tempat istirahat dan tempat berdagang bagi para pelancong, itulah sebabnya arsitektur caravanserai ini sangat mirip dengan Bazaar (pasar). Pintu masuk ke Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh adalah melalui pintu gerbang yang terbuka ke arah Jalan Imam Khomeini dengan dekorasi batu bata dan ubin yang megah.
Caravanserai ini memiliki lima halaman membagi area yang luas menjadi bagian yang berbeda. Halaman utama dikelilingi semua sisi dengan satu lantai kamar yang dibuat satu meter di atas tingkat halaman dan dicapai melalui tangga. Pintu-pintu ke kamar terbuat dari kayu dan dihiasi dengan kaca berwarna-warni. Ruangan atau kamar sederhana itu dihiasi langit-langit kubah dan ceruk di dinding yang digunakan untuk menyimpan dan menampilkan barang. Ada lubang di langit-langit yang dipenuhi dengan kaca warna yang digunakan untuk memberikan cahaya yang diperlukan di dalam kamar.
Bagian barat halaman tengah adalah halaman Negar al-Saltaneh. Halaman ini memiliki dua kamar besar dan dua gudang, dan terkait dengan Vazir Rast-e (bagian dari Bazaar). Sebelah timur halaman utama adalah halaman Sa'die; ada dua Iwans di Utara dan Selatan halaman.
Di timur laut halaman, ada lingkaran melengkung dengan atap yang lebih tinggi di tengah dan dua yang lebih kecil di kedua sisi. Kubah besi itu terhubung ke jalan dengan serangkaian tangga. Halaman ini memiliki sekitar 10 kamar dan ada rumah untuk mandi di sisi timur laut.
Bagian selatan halaman utama adalah tempat bagian terpenting dari caravanserai, yaitu Charsough. Charsough berarti empat bazaar, dan mengacu pada tempat di mana empat jalur utama bazaar atau caravanserai saling bertemu. Caravanserai Sa'd al-Saltaneh terdaftar sebagai warisan nasional pada tahun 1937 sebagai bagian dari Qazvin Grand Bazar tetapi kemudian, pada tahun 1998, tempat ini terdaftar secara terpisah. (RA)

«Саадэсальтонэ» является самым большим крытым каравансараем в стране и действующим центром притяжения торговли в городе. В народе каравансарай называют «Дворцом Саадие» или «дворцом счастья». Площадь архитектурного памятника занимает более 6,2 гектар. Некоторые источники утверждают, что причиной строительства каравансарая была развивающаяся торговля между Ираном, Турцией и Россией. Однако, в связи с началом первой мировой войны активность на базаре значительно снизилась. Историческое событие привело к тому, что базар на половину опустел.

The Caravanserai of Sa'd al-Saltaneh (سعد السلطنه) is a large Caravanserai located in the city of Qazvin in Qazvin Province of Iran.
Built during the Qajar قاجار era, the caravanserai is one of Persia's best preserved urban caravanserais. The builder (patron) of this large caravanserai was a person by the name Sa'd al-Saltaneh Isfahani (آقا باقر سعد السلطنه اصفهاني), for whom the caravanserai is named after.
The caravanserai is built on a square plan, has 4 iwans ايوان facing a courtyard. The interiors are decorated with Muqarnas and Rasmi bandi.
The Hujrehs حجره, or the rooms for the travelers, are situated one meter above the courtyard ground level. The Hashti behind the southern iwan has the largest gonbad, with 4 semi-domes adjacent to it.
The eastern-western axis of the Hashti is called Dalan-i Qeisariyeh دالان قيصريه or Caesar's Hall, and the north-south axis of the Caravanserai's Hashti is named Dalan-i Ghahremani دالان قهرماني or Ghahremani Hall. The former is connected to the Bazaar of Vizir of the city.
There are also two smaller courtyards in the east and west of the Caravanserai.

The Qazvin Province (Persian: استان قزوین, Ostān-e Qazvīn ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It is in the north-west of the country, and its center is the city of Qazvin. Qazvin, Caspin, Qazwin, or Ghazvin) is the largest city and capital of the Province of Qazvin in Iran. Qazvin was an ancient capital in the Persian Empire and nowadays is known as the calligraphy capital of Iran. It is famous for its Baghlava, carpet patterns, poets, political newspaper and pahlavi (Middle Persian) influence on its accent. At the 2011 census, its population was 381,598.
The city was a capital of the Persian Empire under Safavids in 1548-1598. It is a provincial capital today that has been an important cultural center throughout history.
Archeological findings in the Qazvin plain reveal urban agricultural settlements for at least nine millennia. Qazvin contains several buildings from the Safavid era, dating to the period in which it was capital of Persia. Perhaps the most famous of the surviving edifices is the Chehel Sotoun palace in central Qazvin. We visit other buildings like the Imamzadeh Hossein (a mausoleum), the Hosseiniyeh Aminiha and bazaars.

Ovan lake (also known as Evan lake) (Persian: اوان) is a small alpine lake in Alamut region of Alburz range, in Qazvin province of Iran.
The centre point of the lake is approximately located at 36°28′58.98″N 50°26′37.39″E. The only tributary that flows into the lake, is a stream with the same name, Ovan, coming down from northern mounts.
The North of the lake is also surrounded by three small villages, namely from east to west: Varbon, Ovan and Zar-abaad زرآباد.

OMG Trip 10: Iran - Qazvin
Yesterday we have moved from Tabriz to Qazvin. Today we wanted to go to Alamut valley which is little bit north from city to see some castles and beautifull nature. Unfortunately the weather is against us. It's supose to rain today and even guide does not recomend us to go... The road there is only about 80 kilometers but even in good weather conditions it takes 3 hours. In rain it is really dangerous try to go there. So we are staying in the city and later today we'll go to Teheran.
We came into the mosque a there is a funeral right now. The crowd of people came carrying a coffin. They bring it inside the mosque for a minute and they a leaving now. Oooh who is this mummy here? Hmmm in every mosque they dress me into chador and It's difficult to walk around in it because it fell down all the time.
Haha. You should turn other side haha. What are you doing here Filip? Simply I admire it.
And this is a persimon it is season now. Filip just ,, stole '' one... Yes I'm a criminal but I did it for you because I love you. And what now? Fast so we don' get to prison.-)
You wouldn't believe but it started to rain so we are going to hide and get a cup of tea, coffe, tea, coffe...? Before this place was a caravan retreat now it is a shopping zone. We came to coffe shop which was recomended to us by our friends Maral and her husband Ruzbeh. It is realy nice coffe shop and we like it very much. Fifo is going to have a coffe after more than two weaks and I'm going to have hot chocolate.
I have lost bottom on my brand new pants. Likely we found a shop where they repaired it and it all cost only like 10 cents. And we came right on time because they are going to close.
Our friends also recomended us a restaurant so we are going to find it. We found it and it looking really nice and fancy We are going to order ,,peimenesar''. Which should be really good and Maral told us to have it here. It is rice with redcurrant a there is a meat on the bottom. It was delicious.
Our 24 hours in Qazvin is going to end. All we have to do is wait for the bus in this line. What do you think how many buses will have to come so we get in? I think that it will be 3rd bus we'll get in. And what do you think? After 1 hour of waiting I'm optimis 2nd bus. Again we had a good experience after a while the first bus came. We didn't get in but one man came and toke us through back doors.
We don't know why he did it but we are in the front seats on the way to Teheran now. The route should take about 2 hours. We trevel for about 2,5 hours now because of trafic. So we'll see how many more time it take.
