Castlefield Manchester
Castlefield is one of Manchester's most historic and sought-after places to live. The area is a composite of waterways, contemporary apartments and Victorian industrialisation, resembling an architectural timeline that dates as far back as the Roman Era.
Castlefield lies at the heart of Manchester's transport network; boasting easy access to the ring-road, the M602, M56 and Manchester International Airport. It also benefits from the Metrolink tram stop and Deansgate train station, connecting you to the entire city and beyond.
The area is synonymous with a vibrant nightlife, offering an extensive choice from Manchester's finest bars and restaurants, as well as daytime and evening pursuits such as the Museum of Science and Industry, leisure centre and gym facilities, renowned boutiques and shops along the Deansgate thoroughfare, and 'HOME'; a centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film. Castlefield also neighbours the business and retail district, Spinningfield.
Modern developments line the canal network, providing leisurely walks into the city centre or leading out toward Old Trafford Stadium, Cricket Grounds and Salford Quays.
Castlefield is the UK's first designated Urban Heritage Park. The area was first established by a Roman fort called Mamucium and a partial reconstruction stands on this site. Castlefield's multi- level environment is a result of Victorian industrialisation, with successive phases of infrastructure forming a tangle of waterways and railway viaducts.
Amid these powerful structures are recent interventions that take advantage of the waterside location, encompassing footbridges and warehouse conversions, whilst the Beetham Tower stands brazen upon the skyline.
Castlefield has been regenerated since the 1980's, hosting a range of modern apartments and careful conversions, such as St George's Church, whilst retaining the character and spirit of this historical area. Pre-eminent schemes to bolster further development are in motion at sites such as Granada Studios.
Steeped in history and ready for the future, Castlefield is one of Manchester's prime locations. If your interested in moving to Castlefield or would like more information, then please get in touch with Julie Twist Properties on 0161 834 8486, or visit our central office at two hundred and thirty seven Deansgate.

Places to see in ( Manchester - UK )
Manchester is a major city in the northwest of England with a rich industrial heritage. The Castlefield conservation area’s 18th-century canal system recalls the city’s days as a textile powerhouse, and visitors can trace this history at the interactive Museum of Science & Industry. The revitalised Salford Quays dockyards now house the Daniel Libeskind-designed Imperial War Museum North and the Lowry cultural centre.
Manchester is fringed by the Cheshire Plain to the south, the Pennines to the north and east and an arc of towns with which it forms a continuous conurbation. The local authority is Manchester City Council. The recorded history of Manchester began with the civilian settlement associated with the Roman fort of Mamucium or Mancunium
Manchester achieved city status in 1853. The Manchester Ship Canal opened in 1894, creating the Port of Manchester and linking the city to sea, 36 miles (58 km) to the west. Manchester fortunes declined after the Second World War, owing to deindustrialisation, but the IRA bombing in 1996 led to extensive investment and regeneration.
In 2014, the Globalization and World Cities Research Network ranked Manchester as a beta world city, the highest-ranked British city apart from London. Manchester is the third-most visited city in the UK. Manchester is notable for its architecture, culture, musical exports, media links, scientific and engineering output, social impact, sports clubs and transport connections. Manchester Liverpool Road railway station was the world's first inter-city passenger railway station and in the city scientists first split the atom and developed the stored-program computer.
Manchester is well known for being a city of sport. Two Premier League football clubs bear the city name – Manchester United and Manchester City. Manchester United play its home games at Old Trafford, in the neighbouring Greater Manchester borough of Trafford, the largest club football ground in the United Kingdom. Manchester City's home ground is the City of Manchester Stadium (also known as the Etihad Stadium for sponsorship purposes); its former ground, Maine Road was demolished in 2003.

Liverpool Road Railway station, Manchester - The world’s oldest railway station
The world’s oldest railway station is the Liverpool Road Railway station located in Manchester, United Kingdom. Built in 1830, it is one of the few surviving mainline stations in the world. The station served as a terminus for the first inter-city passenger railway between Liverpool and Manchester. All transportation services were hauled by steam locomotives following a timetable. On the 4th of May, 1844, the railway station ceased to be a passenger terminus and instead transported goods. The line was extended from the city of Manchester to Leeds.
The railway specialized in carrying first class and second class passengers only, with booking halls and waiting rooms for each class. The railway station was located some distance from the city of Manchester and passengers had to purchase a ticket from an agent in the city, before they could be taken to the station using horse omnibuses.
In 1975, the British rail abandoned the station and warehouses, including the Grape Street Warehouse which was then bought by Granada Television for use in their production. The historic warehouses and the station building became an integral part of the Museum of Science and Industry, located in Castlefield Urban Heritage Park.

Alumni Building Ancoats Manchester M4
CONTEMPORARY LIVING IN HISTORIC SURROUNDINGS
We are pleased to launch this excellent new development, Alumni Buildings Ancoats Manchester M4. The development will provide in total 20 homes from 1 ,2 and 3 bedroom apartments. There will be limited parking spaces, but there will be a subscription car club service operated by Alphabet, part of the BMW Group, which provides access to vehicles on a reservation basis as needed on a pay-as-you-go system.
Situated in the Ancoats area of Manchester, Alumni Buildings is just a short walk away from the Northern Quarter, five minutes from the centre of Manchester, and has excellent transport links in and out of the city via road and public transport, making this development a must buy for both home-owners and buy to let investors alike.
Alumni Building has two distinct sections, a conversion of the existing Victorian buildings fronting George Leigh Street and a wholly modern addition to the corner of the site fronting both George Leigh Street and Cotton Street. The two building elements are arranged around a secure central courtyard garden area for residents.
The conversion section offers a carefully considered approach to the re-use of the buildings, the scale of the original generously proportioned floor-to-ceiling heights is retained as are any key architectural features. Large windows provide plenty of natural light to the generous living spaces, many with views over the City skyline. Ground floor homes have their own front door, either directly off George Leigh Street or from the courtyard.
The new addition to Alumni provides the best of contemporary apartment living in a purpose-built, modern structure. Spacious and well-appointed with generous floor to ceiling windows in most apartments, the building is a direct contrast to the Victorian conversion but suitably compliments its older neighbour.
Internally however both blocks share many similarities, high quality finishes and excellent build quality with German manufactured kitchens and premium bathrooms boasting fittings by Villeroy & Boch. A range of upgrades and bespoke enhancements are offered to make your home at Alumni truly unique.

Manchester Metrolink
Metrolink (also known as Manchester Metrolink) is a tram/light rail system in Greater Manchester, England. The network consists of seven lines which radiate from Manchester city centre to termini at Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, Didsbury, Eccles, Manchester Airport and Rochdale. The system is owned by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and operated and maintained under contract by RATP Group. Metrolink has 92 stops along 57 miles (92 km) of standard-gauge track making it the largest light rail system in the United Kingdom and one of the largest modern tram networks in Europe. In 2013/14, 29.2 million passenger journeys were made on the system.
A light rail system for Greater Manchester was borne of Greater Manchester County Council's obligations to provide an integrated and efficient system of public transport under its structure plan and the Transport Act 1968. Greater Manchester's public transport network suffered from poor north–south connections, exacerbated by the location of Manchester's main railway stations, Piccadilly and Victoria, which were unconnected and lay at opposite edges of central Manchester.

SUMMARY
=======
Manchester () is a city and metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester, England, with a population of 545,500 as of 2017. It lies within the United Kingdom's third-most populous metropolitan area, with a population of 3.2 million. It is fringed by the Cheshire Plain to the south, the Pennines to the north and east, and an arc of towns with which it forms a continuous conurbation. The local authority is Manchester City Council.
The recorded history of Manchester began with the civilian settlement associated with the Roman fort of Mamucium or Mancunium, which was established in about AD 79 on a sandstone bluff near the confluence of the rivers Medlock and Irwell. It was historically a part of Lancashire, although areas of Cheshire south of the River Mersey were incorporated in the 20th century. The first to be included, Wythenshawe, was added to the city in 1931. Throughout the Middle Ages Manchester remained a manorial township, but began to expand at an astonishing rate around the turn of the 19th century. Manchester's unplanned urbanisation was brought on by a boom in textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution, and resulted in it becoming the world's first industrialised city.Manchester achieved city status in 1853. The Manchester Ship Canal opened in 1894, creating the Port of Manchester and directly linking the city to the Irish Sea, 36 miles (58 km) to the west. Its fortune declined after the Second World War, owing to deindustrialisation, but the IRA bombing in 1996 led to extensive investment and regeneration. In 2014, the Globalisation and World Cities Research Network ranked Manchester as a beta world city, the highest-ranked British city apart from London. Manchester is the third-most visited city in the UK, after London and Edinburgh.
It is notable for its architecture, culture, musical exports, media links, scientific and engineering output, social impact, sports clubs and transport connections. Manchester Liverpool Road railway station was the world's first inter-city passenger railway station; scientists first split the atom, developed the stored-program computer and produced graphene in the city.
