The Great Race Across the Midwest: Union Pacific 4014 in Iowa
History was made as newly restored Big Boy 4014 made it's first ever trip away from traditional Big Boy territory as it made it's way across the state of Iowa.. On Monday, July 15, 4014 was in charge of its second public excursion, The Union Pacific Museum Special on its way from Omaha, NE to Boone, IA. Traversing the former Chicago & North Western mainline, 4014 looked and felt right at home. Tuesday, July 16th, the train diverted north on the former Rock Island Spine Line to its overnight stop in Mason City. In Mason City, the Iowa Traction Railway arranged a once in a lifetime photo session as they positioned their electric #51 at their interchange with UP. It was an impressive sight to see the two locomotives pose side-by-side.

For right now, I use an older Panasonic camcorder that I've had since 2011. I do plan on upgrading at some point, but for now, this is all I can use. 18 miles of grain cars on Iowa Northern Railroad tracks: time-lapse
Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 12:05 PM. Well, okay, maybe not a solid 18 miles of grain cars, but it is an awful lot, most of the way from Belmond, Iowa to Garner. The track wanders too far from Highway 69 to see a lot of the time, so I apologize for the spotty nature of the video, but I wanted to share it for the huge number of cars that you can see. The camera won't zoom while it's running in time-lapse mode or I'd have gotten a closer look at some of them. You may need to pause the video occasionally to see the long strings of cars far from the highway, as well as adjust the speed to .5 or .25.

Note from Jerry:
This is an example of why and how I customize my closing tribute song, Come Join Us for amazing organizations such as Opportunity Village. I have customized videos for many groups. And my preferred method for debuting this song is to perform it live in person as the closing number of my concert style Spark Change! keynote. Also included in this performance presentation are the songs Imagination, Spark, Change, I Am, Amazing and the big surprise (shhhh) finale, Come Join Us. Yes, this video is often assembled as a surprise, custom tailored tribute to the very people in attendance.
