Welcome to Peru's best kept secret: Chachapoyas. The town in Northern Peru is located in the cloud forest and is part of the Amazonas region. Home to one of Peru's most notable archeological sites, Kuelap is an ancient fortress that was built on top of a mountain by the Chachapoyas people and it is the largest Pre-Inca archeological site in South America. The Karajia site is the famous anthropomorphic sarcophagi built on a narrow cliff ledge and most of all, Chachapoyas gives you access to Peru's most mesmerizing waterfall: Gocta. Standing at over 700 meters, this is one of the world's highest waterfalls.

Lambayeque consists of tours to Chachapyas, Chiclayo, and Cajamarca of northern Peru.
It was originally the area of the ancient Chimu and Moche peoples.
Chachapoyas-Kuelap was a fortress built by the Chachapoyas Civilization of northern Peru. They existed during the expansion of the Huari Civilization of the northern Andes which were competing with the Inca for territory and subjects. Kuelap is known as the Machu Picchu of the north, being nearly 660 meters long / 2000 feet. That is nearly half a mile. Kuelap is actually larger and older than Machu Picchu, being built around 500 AD, which is nearly 400 years before the Inca civilization began around Lake Titicaca. The ancient Peruvian ruin has over 400 structures and is located at the base of the Amazon Rainforest. Kuelap is one Peru Vacation most ancient ruin which still exists for tours and visitors.
Cajamarca-Tours to northern Peru are categorized as off-beaten paths due to exclusiveness. The last Inca king Atahualpa was held for ransom and killed by Francisco Pizzaro in Cajamarca in 1533. Cajamarca was a cross roads of Andean cultures and a lot of archaeological importance still exist today. A group of travelers / backpackers meet in Pariwana Hostel and travel to the Northern Highlands of Peru. This video shows a map with all details to access this unexplored area. From Lima they first travel to Chiclayo (Pacasmayo), and then to Chachapoyas. From here they visited Kuelap, Gocta Waterfalls, Olan Fortress, Karajia Sarcophagi, Revash, Belen Valley, Quiocta Caves, Lamud, Leimebamba Museum and More.

Flying over the Kuélap archeological site in Chachapoyas, Peru. Drone video of Kuélap which is a walled settlement built by the Chachapoyas culture in the 6th century AD on a ridge overlooking the Utcubamba Valley. It is located in the mountains in the southern part of the region of Amazonas, Peru. It is situated on a limestone ridge at about 9,850 feet (3,000 meters).

Antes de hablar del video, quiero hablar de Amazonas - Chachapoyas. Me pareció un lugar muy limpio, tranquilo lamentablemente solo estuve 2 días pero conocí la Fortaleza de Kuelap y la Catarata Gocta. El Hotel Hacienda Achamaqui que me hospede esta alejado del centro de la ciudad era increíble por lo tranquilo, silencio y paz que se vivía y nada que decir de la atención y comida 10 de 10. No se puede sentir mas peruano cuando se conoce la cultura de los chachas y la catara es increíble sentía que me transmitía el chorro toda su fuerza al caer sobre mi espalda tiene un ruido estruendoso, valió la pena la caminata de 2hrs (solo ida) con buen físico; de vuelta espero que lo hagan el mismo tiempo????. Definitivamente fue lo mejor escaparme de Lima por esos días.
Este es mi primer video y de viaje a modo de practica que hice como mi regalo de cumpleaños en marzo de este año, trate de aplicar lo aprendido de manera empírica y autodidacta en mi autodesarrollo como filmmaker. Cuando empece el montaje quería llorar por las tomas eran pésimas, pero con suerte pude salvar algunas jaja, con un poco de colorización, sonorización y transiciones. Tal vez no significa nada o no sea para tanto igual es un ensayo????.
Cometí muchos errores pero estoy seguro que poco a poco iré mejorando. Aun queda mucho videos por grabar, muchas tomas, look cinematográfico que espero conseguir y el desarrollar el lenguaje audiovisual. Los que estudian audiovisuales o comunicaciones seguro querrán matarme, pero se lo que quiero conseguir se aceptan consejos.
Y el que se pregunta y tu carrera de Sistemas? Pues estoy 100% dedicado a mi profesión. Solo que siempre consigo un espacio para desarrollar otras pasiones.

The wall is 2,000 feet long. I walk its length, amazed and somewhat seasick. It’s rectangular, built on a base of limestone, and covers an area of 15 acres.
Inside the walls, Kuelap is a city of round houses with unusual conical roofs. As we approach the innermost enclaves of the Chachapoyas and their cliffside tombs,
the atmosphere turns otherworldly and supernatural. More than 100 mummies have been found at the sacred mountain cliffs of La Petaca.
How did they bury their dead on these inaccessible cliffs? If they used scaffolding of some kind, there is no sign of it.
Nevertheless, the mummies are perfectly preserved.
The sarcophagi of Karajia contain many Chachapoya mummies. The secrets of these statues that gaze off into space are another mystery that has yet to be explained. They are a real challenge to archaeologists and to me they are inexplicable.
