My Xmas in Stellenbosch, CAPE TOWN 2019 | A visit to the Mooiberge Strawberry farm
This YouTube video is about my holiday in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. We left on Christmas Day and spent 3 amazing days in Stellenbosch.
Staying at Mont Angelis was simply awesome as you never get to see people, the keys were left in a lock box for us and upon check out, we returned them to the same lock box. It's a self-catering unit, which was very spacious and had stunning views of the vineyards. We stayed in Unit 6 - Micah which in my opinion has the best location.
There's lots to do in Stellenbosch like visiting art galleries, the vineyards, museums and tons of cute little cafes. I would definitely spend more than 2 nights here.

Constantia - Eagles Nest - Hidden Gems
Eagles’ Nest is situated on the slopes of the Constantia mountain range, which forms part of the world-famous Table Mountain. The valley and its superior class wines meant that they decided to plant the farm with varieties that best suited this unique farm. Maintenance is done throughout the year on the vineyards by hand. They believe that wine making starts in the vineyard with good root stock and clone selection, thereafter with individual block and vine management and finally with regulated disease control.
Shiraz, Merlot and Viognier are the predominant varietals planted at Eagles Nest to ensure that this was the best grape varieties to plant for these soil types and climatic conditions. The vineyards are situated on steep slopes to capture the correct sunlight conditions throughout the very dry summer seasons. They water the vines by drip-feeding during the hot summer months to reduce stress on the vines. The vines grow exceptionally well here because of the above average rainfall in the area and they can produce as much as 140 tonnes per season. This is also partly due to the fact that they are able to plant vines at a much higher density per hectare that normal. Eagles Nest is one of South Africa’s steepest wine farms that is commercially farmed. It is absolutely a little piece paradise.
Eagles Nest was used from 1836 as a refreshment station between Wynberg in the east, and Hout Bay harbor in the west. The farm was originally planted as a vegetable producer for the local markets and at some stage they also farmed export quality fruit. Constantia Nek was the mountain pass that was used to cross over the mountain between these two towns. The Mylrea family purchased the farm in 1984. Most of the farm was destroyed by fire during 2000 except for some outbuildings.
Eagles Nest serve the most scrumptious platters with a variety of cheeses and cured meats – and to top it of the most delicious home baked breads.

WATCH: Student narrowly escapes attempted kidnapping in Rembrandt Park
Family members and friends of Charmaine Erick are at a loss for words after the 21-year-old was almost kidnapped in Rembrandt Park, north of Johannesburg, on Tuesday afternoon.
We are still in shock, Erick's sister, Pamela Dubazane told News24.
Dubazane said her sister had been walking home from the tertiary institution where she studies, when a car she didn't recognise pulled up next to her. The doors opened and the two male occupants asked Erick to get in.

THRASS UK PHONICS 1005TT Part 1 G7 Mpumalanga South Africa
THRASS UK is licensed to serve customers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America, Central America and the United States of America. For courses and resources, visit and click on a country to be directed to the correct website.
STAGE T9. KEYWORD ANALYSIS Part 1
In May 2010 some of the THRASS UK team visited Klipspruit Combined School in the Kwena Basin, Mpumalanga. The school is one of several local farm schools that have received sponsorship as part of the THRASS Absa TalkTogether Project. Three classes occupy what was previously the school hall and stage, so space is at a premium. We see a lesson with a Grade 7 class, and the children use the THRASS programme to sound out, read and spell words. They also use their THRASS skills to analyse words such as 'transport' and to decide how many sounds (phonemes) are in the words and which letter(s) represent each sound. They are asked to use the correct terminology such as a graph (one-letter spelling choice), digraph, (two-letter spelling choice), trigraph (three-letter spelling choice), and even a quadgraph (four-letter spelling choice). When they analyse the word 'eighteen', they realise that the 'e' 'i' 'g' 'h' is a quadgraph, where four letters make one sound. The 'e' 'i' 'g' 'h' is also a Grapheme Catch-All (one of the spelling choices that does not appear on the THRASS chart) and it is represented on the chart by an asterisk. We see the children completing a worksheet in small groups and they practise their analysis skills on some new words. When they analyse the word 'communicate' they also come across the 'a-e' grapheme, which they identify correctly as a split digraph, as in the keyword 'tape'. The teacher explains that she likes using THRASS because it helps her to teach the children that letters have different jobs to do in different words, such as the 'c' in cat and the 'c' in city. She says that learning about the sounds of English using THRASS has not only helped the children to read English, but it has also helped them with their own language, as some of the sounds are the same.
English is not the first or even second language. The home languages include Sepedi and Setswana. The language of instruction in the school is Zulu.

41 -- Had to be cautious on invites because one had no guarantee of returning.
Cape Town South Africa was my base when I dredged for diamonds for Marine Diamond Corporation (MDC) on the Skeleton Coast of Namibia.
Rotation was two weeks on the diamond barge of shore and one week free back in Cape Town traveling by company plane.
I was responsible for the separation process of ore and diamonds. Recovering diamonds is a screening and cyclonic separation procedure with the help of ferrosilicon that should be kept at a specific density that is recorded on a recording clock that shows everything is on track to the max which means recovering as many diamonds as possible. I was determine in getting as much of a circle on the clock chart as possible that shows also my over all work performance.
Between 1961-1971 MDC mined 1.5 million carats of diamonds of the coast of Namibia. In one of my two week shifts we broke the record of the amount of diamonds dredged and on our return from Cape Town we were offered beers all round which I was not happy with and I let them know it in head office in Cape Town but it meant nothing and told Probably later-it's a little to soon Irishman Soon after I got back on the road to travel and explore the gold mines instead.
Crossing from South Africa into Lesotho over the Sani Pass with the help of the Lesotho Police who picked me up at the foot of the Pass in South Africa and after crossing the Sani Pass with these guys from then on I was taken care of by the Lesotho police who also arranged for me free accommodation and food for four days in Mokhotlong in a government guest house and that is what you call Lesotho hospitality.
Over night stop at the Taj Mahal overland trip from London to Australia. It was overland with the exception of two flights, Calcutta to Bangkok, Dili East Timor to Darwin and island hopping through out Indonesia which was the toughest part of the trip which took a total of five months.
Over one million migrants from all over Europe traveled to Australia as the Ten Pound Pome between 1945 and 1972 and in return must stay two years or else pay the passage.
The day I visited Belfast 1971 the bombing of a furniture store on Shankill Road happen that killed four people.
Since I left Ireland in 1965 I traveled around the world until I returned to Ireland in 1971 and while I was in these foreign parts I was constantly asked about what is the problem in Ireland so I promise to myself to visit Belfast and see for myself and that is the reason I visited Belfast but unfortunately the day I was there a bomb went of that killed four people and many injured as I was walking down the street.
This is when the furniture store was blown up I was one of the first to be on the scene and took these pictures and after awhile I was being call a Fenian Bastard and then told by the police to disappear or else I would be Lynched by the crowd. As I was leaving the scene I was picked up by British detectives and taken to a police station and released after two hours of questioning and told to get back to where I belong.
It was because of my Dublin accent was when they realized I wasn't a local and that is when I began to received abuse being called a Fenian Bastard when I was part of the human chain clearing the rubble from the bombed sight that my accent disqualified me from helping in finding some one buried in the rubble that maybe are still alive. What a disappointed society that we live in where we are judged by our ethnicity and on the other hand placing a bomb like this is an unacceptable cowardly act which is a sign of weakness and ignorance.
One of the most isolated towns in Colombia located in the jungle on the Amazon River that attracted foreign travelers to explore and experience the local culture and more in a town called Leticia.
Leticia is located on the Amazon in Colombia on the borders of Peru
Crossed the Pacific on this Italian migrant ship called Castel Felice from Sydney to Panama City that took 28 days with a stop in Fiji and a over night stop in Tahiti. The Castel Felice was one of the migrant ships from the Sitmar Italian shipping line who had a contract with the Australian government to take Europeans that wanted to migrate to Australia for ten pounds were known as the ''Ten Pound Pome
More then one million migrants from Europe traveled as the Ten Pound Pome from1945 to 1972 in return they had to stay in Australia for two years or else repay the cost of the passage.

Graeme Hosken on firefighting equipment, skills in SA
Since the fire broke in the Johannesburg CBD, the use of adequate extinguishing equipment has been among the many questions raised. Emergency Services in the city have since announced even they would look into the matter. But experts say South Africa has a dire lack of firefighting skills and this is contributing to the increasing death toll, also costing the economy billions. Graeme Hosken is a journalist at Times Live, he's been on top of this research and reporting on fires.
