Walking from Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천) to Gwanghwamun Square (청계광장) in Seoul, South Korea 【4K】????????
Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천) runs through downtown Seoul from the Cheonggye Plaza (청계광장) in Gwanghwamun to Yangnyeong Market, where it connects with a larger stream before merging with the Hangang River. It was originally a natural stream since the Joseon Dynasty, but it was buried under an overpass until 2005 when it was restored as part of an urban renewal project. Today, it serves as a pleasant place for relaxation and enjoyment with plenty of attractions, eateries, and activities nearby. A great number of events are held at the plaza as well as along the stream throughout the year.
Gwanghwamun Square (광화문광장) is located on Sejong-daero, a major business district in Seoul. This large square host various events and ceremonies. Statues of King Sejong the Great, the creator of hangeul (Korean Alphabet), and Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the creator of the Geobukseon (warship also known as the Turtle Ship), stand in this plaza. An underground exhibition hall houses the King Sejong Hangeul Museum and the Admiral Yi Sun-sin Hall.

Beautiful stream flows through the heart of Seoul Korea - Cheonggyecheon (청계천)
#southkorea#seoulkorea#청계천
Welcome to Seoul Duo TV channel !
This episode is about beautiful stream that that flows along Jongno and Euljiro district which is in the center of Seoul Korea, Cheonggyecheon Stream.
Once old and dirty stream had turned into a beautiful walking path for the people in 2005.
Some of the water of this stream has to be filled up from somewhere else, so partially artificial stream.
However, it recreated nature-friendly ecosystem in this huge metropolitan city.
Super close to other tourlist attractions like Myeongdong, Jongno, Gwanghwamun Gate.
Easy to approach from many direction.
My awesome friend Eno joined the show in this episode, so I was so excited.
Less lonely, grateful ! Thanks bro!
(Hope he joins the show every weekend)

청계천 - Walking along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, Seoul, Korea
Cheonggyecheon (Hangul: 청계천, Korean pronunciation: [t͡ʃʰʌŋ.gje.t͡ʃʰʌn]) is a 10.9-kilometre-long (6.8 mi), modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul, South Korea. The massive urban renewal project is on the site of a stream that flowed before the rapid post-war economic development caused it to be covered by transportation infrastructure. The $900 million project initially attracted much public criticism but, since opening in 2005, has become popular among residents and tourists.

Walking along the Cheonggye stream (Cheonggyecheon - 청계천 - 淸溪川) in Seoul, South Korea
In this travel video we visit the Cheonggye stream (Cheonggyecheon - 청계천 - 淸溪川) in downtown Seoul to take a stroll down one of the most scenic and pedestrian friendly areas of the city. Located in the heart of Seoul, it's a pedestrian friendly area that is enjoyed by both Koreans and tourists alike. This is my favorite 'green' and/or pedestrian friendly initiative in the city. When I was first visiting Seoul in 2004, the project hadn't quite been completed and there weren't many great walking areas in the traditional downtown area. It's a great place to go people watching. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Seoul overlooked the Cheonggyecheon where we could see Korean businessmen scurrying back and forth during their lunch breaks.

Aside from just people walking you'll notice many Koreans exercising (especially jogging) along the Cheonggye stream - even in subzero temperatures!
If you're look carefully enough you'll at times be able to spot wildlife such as ducks.
Although this area is typically crowded during warmer months we have it nearly to ourselves on this cold winter day.
As we walk along we notice some artificial Korean ice sculptures and Korean murals with traditional Korean music playing out of speakers in the background.
Unlike in other Asian countries, Christmas is a big deal in Korea and no city in the country celebrates it more than Seoul.
Crossing the stream is easy, as there are many pedestrian bridges and stepping stones at various vantage points.
With a new camcorder in hand I decided this was the perfect place to try recording some time-lapse sequences.
Overall, it was a great experience but we didn't stay very long because of the chilly winds.
We definitely recommend visiting the Cheonggyecheon as one of the top things to do in Seoul as it is one of the top attractions in Korea.
We decided to throw a coin and make a wish along with others. What is one thing you're wishing for this year?

The museum offers visitors the chance to learn about the many changes the stream has seen, including being buried underground and being restored. The story is told with the help of a scale-model and period photographs. Admission is free.
