The Siege of Chester - 9-10 August 2014
OUR SECOND EVENT TRAILER! In a spectacular free event in the heart of Chester spectators will be able to stand on the city's ancient walls and watch Cavaliers and Roundheads fight as muskets fire, drums sound, swords clash!

This family-friendly weekend will see Chester's English Civil War history come alive as the Sealed Knot re-creates the great siege of 1645.
Walk around our encampment, meet the re-enactors, then watch as the armies of King and Parliament battle to decide the city's fate!
The event is free, with great views of the battlefield from the walls around King Charles Tower.

Chester city walls consist of a defensive structure built to protect the city of Chester in Cheshire, England. Walls of Chester construction was started by the Romans when they established the fortress of Deva Victrix between 70 and 80 AD.
Walls of Chester originated with a rampart of earth and turf surmounted by a wooden palisade. From about 100 AD they were reconstructed using sandstone, but were not completed until over 100 years later. Following the Roman occupation nothing is known about the condition of the walls until refounded Chester as a burgh in 907. The defences were improved, although the precise nature of the improvement is not known. After the Norman conquest, the Walls of Chester were extended to the west and the south to form a complete circuit of the medieval city. The circuit was probably complete by the middle of the 12th century.
Maintenance of the structure of the Walls of Chester was an ongoing concern. They were further fortified before the Civil War, and were damaged during the war. Following this they ceased to have a defensive purpose, and were developed for leisure and recreation. The Walls of Chester are now a major tourist attraction, and form an almost complete circuit of the former medieval city, with a total walkway length of 2.95 kilometres (1.8 mi). Upkeep and repair of the walls continues to be a problem.

Beeston Castle VLOG (Full Tour 2018)
Here is a video that I complied together to make a VLOG on a castle that I visited. It is the ruins of a famous castle that once was part of two major wars 1. The English Civil War and 2. an number of welsh wars. It is situated on a rocky summit some 500 feet above the Cheshire plains. Beeston castle was built in the year 1220AD by Ranulf de Blondeville who was the 6th Earl of Chester after he came back from the crusades. There is also a well that was built around 1230AD which is thought to contain King Richard II's treasure that would save England. Please visit the English Heritage website to learn much more and if you can visit this place. The website is given below with the prices.

National Museum of the Pacific War: Visit Fredericksburg TX
Originally named the Admiral Nimitz Museum and housed in the historic Nimitz Steamboat Hotel on Main Street in Fredericksburg, the National Museum of the Pacific War has grown into a six-acre campus with more than 50,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Today, the museum includes exhibits on the life and career of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who commanded U.S. and allied naval forces in the Pacific War, and who was born right here in Fredericksburg.
It also includes displays of Allied and Japanese aircraft, tanks, guns, other artifacts and, the most moving of all, the personal stories of our troops.
On scheduled weekends throughout the year, the Pacific Combat Zone is the site of a living history program. Re-enactors bring World War II to life by demonstrating the weapons and discussing the tactics and strategy that won the war.
The grounds also include a Memorial Courtyard, a Plaza of Presidents and a Japanese Garden of Peace.
All museum properties are accessible by wheelchair, and group tours and school groups are welcome. Tickets are good for 48 hours.
