Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary - Full Day Elephant Tour
Hiking with elephants!
Thanks to PM Tours for setting us up for the Full Day Tour with the Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary. This was by far the best thing we did in Thailand! We learned how to feed them, made medicine and fed it to them, and hiked for 6km with our own elephant. How cool is that?
I can't believe I didn't do this last time I was in Chiang Mai earlier this year. This is something everyone should do while in Thailand, but please do not go to the elephant riding tours, it's inhumane.
Please check out for more information.
Chiang Mai - Cinematic Travel Film // Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand
Why you should visit Chiang Mai?
Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai unexpectedly redefined the word “beautiful” for us. Doi Inthanon National Park ranges between 800 and 2565 meters with the highest peak which is the highest mountain in Thailand. If there is one place you have to go while in the Doi Inthanon National Park, it’s the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail.
Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail requires a guide at a price of 200 baht per group. But we quickly warmed up to the man who led us, a local Hmong hill tribesman who undoubtedly cared for and respected the mountain. Also Wachirathan Falls and Mae Klang Waterfalls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Doi Inthanon.
If you ever think of visiting Doi Inthanon anytime during the year, definitely plan for setting up a tent in the campsite.

Elephant Daycare in Chiang Mai mountain sanctuary vs Elephant Riding
Not long ago we went to Chiang Mai and we got to experience the Elephant Mountain Sanctuary. Experience here what you will get to do during a full day trip while giving Daycare to the Elephants.
Later in the video Joy reflects on her experiences riding elephants in Phuket and how that was different from the experience in Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary.
Finding 100% cruelty free sanctuaries can be hard. As consumers the best we can do is join activities that are least likely to be cruel. It is certain that the sanctuary is better than many elephant riding establishments.

Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary is one of the latest elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai. Run by local Lanna people who absolutely love their elephants. They have fifteen adult elephants and one baby elephant who is about 3 years of age. You will spend the day feeding, observing, bathing and walking with the elephants. The entrance price for this fantastic elephant sanctuary is unbeatable.

Lets kick things off with one of my favorite days out. These trails are located around 40min drive from the Chiang Mai City.
Best thing to do is hook up with the guys from X-Biking CNX:
The park has a skills area, jump park, trails in the mountains (which continue to grow), a pumptrack & even an airbag which will keep you busy for a day or you can revisit the park if you want some more action.

Travelling to the Top of a Mountain in Chiang Mai
If you're looking for things to do in Chiang Mai then riding to the top of one of it's highest peaks and eating delicious Thai food in the clouds should definitely be on your travel list.
Mon Jam (sometimes spelt Mon Cham) is a one hour ride outside of Chiang Mai's old city.
It's 1,400 meters above the city and the ride is incredible.
Tours can be arranged to Mon Jam but I highly recommend you make the trip with a motorbike for the best experience.
If you have no motorbike riding experience in Chiang Mai you can book a full guided tour for the day here:

Thailand # day4 Elephant jungle sanctuary chiangmai
Visiting an Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thiland was an unforgettable & wonderful experience! We booked our day through the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
We opted to spend a full day at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary so that we could spend as much time as possible interacting with the gentle elephants.Taking the care of the Thai Elephants was better alternative to riding the Elephants.
Experience of meeting, feeding, exfoliating & washing the Elephants was amazing. Special thanx to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. We would highly recommend this tour to any one visiting Chiang mai.

TEMPLES IN CHIANG MAI - Why Women Can't Enter
There are almost 300 temples in Chiang Mai, Thailand. However, we share the Thai history behind why women can’t enter some of them. Watch to see our picks for the Top 3 temples in Chiang Mai, and which ones you can’t enter if you are a woman.
If you are coming to travel Thailand on holiday, it’s likely you won’t have nearly enough time to visit all 300 temples in Chiang Mai Thailand. So, we are sharing the 3 best temples in Chiang Mai you should visit to get the biggest diversity in styles and cultures.
The first temple we visited was the Silver Temple Chiang Mai. This temple was easily the most unique temple we have ever seen and it sat beside a silversmith village. The entire temple was plated in silver and metal in 2008 as a tribute to the heavy influence silver had on northern Thai history. So, you’re wondering which temples women can’t enter? The Silver temple is one of them. We love sharing facts about Thailand when we come across them, and this was a piece of Thailand information we could not pass up. As we arrived at the silver temple, sure enough we were greeted with a big “Women can’t enter silver temple” sign. The history behind this Thai rule stems from an old Buddhist rule that states the presence of a woman can disrupt relics and energy that are found throughout the temples. If a women does enter one of the temples in Thailand that is marked as forbidden, it is said they will experience bodily harm.
The next temple is called Wat Chedi Luang and it’s one of the most popular places to visit in Chiang Mai due to it’s central proximity in the Old City. Wat Chedi Luang is a standing piece of Thai history, as it survived an earthquake in the early 1500’s which demolished the top half of the pagoda. One of the more interesting facts about Thailand originated here with a tree planted centuries ago right next to Wat Chedi Luang. It is said that the tree is the protector of the region and if it falls, a big catastrophe will take place.
One of the last, and arguably most magnificent, temples in Chiang Mai we visited was Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. This temple is on everyones list of the top things to do in Chiang Mai. The Doi Suthep Temple is one of the holiest buddhist temples in all of the world, as it is said to hold the shoulder bone of Buddha himself. This makes Wat Phra That Doi Suthep a popular buddhist pilgrimage site and also one of the most culturally rich places to see while you travel Thailand.
If you guys enjoyed seeing our Top 3 list of the best temples in Chiang Mai, give this video a thumbs up! Which temples are you planning on visiting? Are you upset by the Buddhist rule that women can’t enter some temples? We are living in Chiang Mai Thailand for 2 months, so be sure to stick around and see more Thailand travel vlogs. If you want to learn more facts about Thailand, go see our Thailand travel vlogs in Bangkok and Southern Thailand. Also, don’t forget to leave us a comment down below, subscribe, and tell us which temple was your favorite! We will see you guys in the next video. Seeya!
