Chinatown Heritage Centre Singapore
Chinatown Heritage Centre is located on 48 Pagoda Street, Singapore. A hidden gem for tourists and locals alike, this place provides a wealth of information about the history of Chinatown. Plenty of old photographs of Singapore's Chinatown, rags to riches stories, and lifestyle of Chinese immigrants from 1820s.
I strongly recommend that you visit this place and spend at least an hour here. They are open 9 A.M to 8 P.M all days of the week and the ticket costs 8 Singapore Dollars ($4 for kids). This modest building has 2 floors full of pictures, artifacts and recreated items and they are building another floor on top too!

GoPro Hero3+: Singapore Chinatown Heritage Centre
A visit to Singapore Chinatown Heritage Centre before it's being close down for rejuvenation. The past of Chinatown comes alive within the walls of these three beautifully-restored shophouses on Pagoda Street, comfortably nestled in the midst of Singapore's bustling Chinatown district back in the 1950s. Film using GoPro Hero3+ and LED 5006 video light.

Singapore's Chinatown is an ethnic neighbourhood featuring distinctly Chinese cultural elements and a historically concentrated ethnic Chinese population. Chinatown is located within the larger district of Outram.
As the largest ethnic group in Singapore is Chinese, Chinatown is considerably less of an enclave than it once was. (Note: The name Chinatown is given by the British and today usually used by non-Chinese Singaporeans, whereas Chinese Singaporeans usually use the term Niu Che Shui as the term Chinatown usually refers to enclaves of Chinese people in regions where Chinese people are the minority ethnic group.) However, the district does retain significant historical and cultural significance. Large sections of it have been declared national heritage sites officially designated for conservation by the Urban Redevelopment Authority. For more information to visit

How good is Chinatown Singapore!! The highlight is the amazing Buddha Tooth Relic Temple but there is so much more to see and do in Chinatown. The Maxwell food center has an incredible range of food, including the Michelin star Hainanese chicken rice.
Kia ora (hello) and thankyou for watching this video.
Kia ora is hello in Maori which is the native language of New Zealand, my home country.
However, I am currently living in Singapore, working as a teacher at an international school. It is a dream job for not only me, but my partner Ashleigh too.
We moved to Singapore in mid 2019 and plan to travel all over the world in the next couple of years. This video is just one of many documenting our experiences in Singapore and the world. I hope you enjoy!
Thankyou so much for watching this video. I really appreciate you taking the time to support my channel. Feel free to subscribe if you want to see more of my travels and shenanigans.

Singapore Chinatown
Chinatown is one of the must-see cultural enclaves for visitors heading to Singapore.
The heart of Chinatown is a bustling, colourful mix of old and new, from family-run goldsmiths and medicine halls, to textile stores and dim sum restaurants. Popular bakeries like Tong Heng Oriental Pastry on South Bridge Road, tea houses like Kwong Chen on Sago Street, hawker stalls, as well as stylish bars along Club Street, are also housed in this precinct, making Chinatown a well-balanced heartland.
In addition to the nearby Chinatown Complex and Maxwell Food Centre, the culinary enthusiasts among you will be glad to know that Smith Street, one of the main roads within Chinatown, closes to vehicular traffic after dark. Here at the Chinatown Food Street, you can enjoy alfresco dining at this hawker centre that serves up all the best local dishes.
For a fascinating peek into Singapore's Chinese culture and history, Chinatown is a good place to start. Here, you'll enjoy a mix of heritage, shopping as well as a good variety of food options, which are sure to leave a traveller happy and satisfied at the end of the day.
