Cotswold Walks Chipping and Broad Campden
A Cotswold Walk in Chipping Campden is ideal for anyone who loves a day out in the Cotswolds but doesn't like crowds. It has everything to provide interest and sustenance for the day. This is a working village with some 'proper' shops selling groceries as well as local hostelries and pubs to feed and shelter you, along with a rich history. Sir Baptist Hicks built a fine mansion here adjacent to the church of St James, unfortunately it was burnt to the ground by Royalist Soldiers to prevent its use by the Roundheads that were hot on their heels. In his time Sir Baptist did a lot for Chipping Campden including the erection of the market hall for the use of local traders. Another fellow who was instrumental in the prosperity of the village was William Grevel who built a magnificent town house in the high street in 1360, and was influential in relocating the Arts and Craft Guild from London to here at a time when the wool trade was in decline and thereby providing an alternative revenue stream.
The beauty of the honey coloured Cotswold stone buildings speaks for itself and on the outskirts of town the period and thatched cottages adds icing to the cake. As if that wasn't enough this visit included a walk to Broad Campden a mile or so to the south. Whilst not having the same scale or amenities as its neighbour, it is never the less a delightful Cotswold village and well worth the little extra distance to walk.

????STOW-ON-THE-WOLD & MORETON-IN-MARSH | COTSWOLDS ENGLAND VANLIFE!!????
It's day 3 of our van trip to the Cotswolds in England and we are going to the famous Stow-on-the-Wold!
I think that similarly to Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold is a picturesque village/town in the heart of the Cotswolds and is one of the must see places.
To be honest we walked around in an hour and yes it is lovely and there were plenty of cafes and shops to look around if that's your thing, but at the end of the day it's just a small town, not much else to see lol. We decided to have lunch in the van and then go up the road to a place called Moreton-in-Marsh.
Again, not much going on there either but there is a place called Batsford Arboretum which we believe is a garden centre/garden display or something. It was nearly £20 for us to go in so we decided against going but there was a walk from Moreton-in-Marsh across the fields which was 1.5 miles so we thought that would be nice.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did then don't forget to hit the thumbs up button and subscribe to our channel for more great videos every weekend and quite often during the week too, it's mostly the weekends though just the odd extra thrown in! :)

Malmesbury Market Town In The Cotswolds.
Malmesbury is a market town and civil parish in the southern Cotswolds in the county of Wiltshire, England. Technology company Dyson is headquartered in Malmesbury, which remains a market town and became prominent in the Middle Ages as a centre for learning focused on and around Malmesbury Abbey, the bulk of which forms a rare survival of the dissolution of the monasteries. Once the site of an Iron Age fort, in the Anglo-Saxon period it became the site of a monastery famed for its learning and one of Alfred the Great's fortified burhs for defence against the Vikings. Æthelstan, the first king of England, was buried in Malmesbury Abbey when he died in 939.
