Aerial View of St Peter & St Paul Church, Honing, Norfolk, UK
WELCOME to St Peter & St Paul in Honing. Please come and visit this lovely church and you are`welcome to join us for services. Our church has a dramatically tall 15th Century Tower; tall windows in the Nave support this vertical theme, but the chancel has been reduced to minimal proportions.
The West front is well worth viewing from the grass footpath around the tower. A vast perpendicular window with dividing transom and a richly moulded west doorway beneath. Following a great wind the pair of doors were damaged and the fine doorway was partially bricked up. The tower was partially restored in 1990 and the nave had previously been rebuilt in 1795. The pew benches were made in 1928-9 by Cornish & Gaymers (North Walsham) from Oak grown on the Honing Estate. The Chancel was drastically reduced in size during the 1795 rebuilding campaign.
There is an Early English font Brass and monument particularly to the Cubitt family are well worth discovery
One bell survives from a peel of 5.

ST Paul Cathedral- Church Made after Fire! Facts, History and Events at British Institution
St Paul Has undeniable importance in London history. London is said to be incomplete without this Cathedral.

St Paul's Cathedral, London, is an Anglican cathedral, the seat of the Bishop of London and the mother church of the Diocese of London. It sits on Ludgate Hill at the highest point of the City of London and is a Grade I listed building. Its dedication to Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church on this site, founded in AD 604.[1] The present cathedral, dating from the late 17th century, was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren. Its construction, completed in Wren's lifetime, was part of a major rebuilding programme in the City after the Great Fire of London.

London, England travel: Westminster Abbey
London, England travel: Westminster Abbey. This is the traditional location for coronations and burials of English Monarchs. The official name is The Collegiate Church of St Peter, Westminster but it is almost always referred to as Westminster Abbey. They don't encourage photography so it's not the best video, but you can get the flavor of the place. More than a day trip from Thornbury Castle, and certainly worth the travel! (You can view this video, and other travel videos in full-size and near-DVD quality, travel stills and more at jpmeyer.com). Thornbury Castle is part of the von Essen Group of hotels, a private collection of individual country house hotels in the UK, each with a distinctive style and character of its own according to vonessenhotels.co.uk, but we think of it as Real People having Real Fun!
St Paul's Cathedral | Blessed be the God and Father | 2015
Wesley's life and career were turbulent to say the least. He was the first child of Samuel Wesley and his housekeeper, Sarah Suter a brilliant musician and composer who along with Mendelssohn was largely responsible for the recognition of Bach's music in Britain he also suffered periodic bouts of insanity. Samuel Sebastian inherited the family musical abilities in full he spent some time as a chorister at the Chapel Royal under the guidance of William Hawes. There then followed a series of appointments in various London churches until in 1832 the twenty-two year-old Wesley was appointed Organist and Master of the Choristers at Hereford Cathedral.
His anthem 'Blessed be the God and Father ' dates from Wesley's time at Hereford, it was written for an Easter Day service and the circumstances of its premiere were bizarre. Apparently on that particular Easter Sunday only the trebles and one bass (the Dean's butler) were available to sing. Despite this unpromising start 'Blessed be the God and Father ' is Wesley's best-known anthem sung in Anglican cathedrals and churches throughout the world. Structurally it's a very taut piece of music consisting of five sections linked in an unbroken chain and characterised by a remarkable variety of musical textures. The opening is unaccompanied and well worth listening to in its own right but it's the anthem's central portion – a wonderful dialogue between a solo treble and the treble chorus, that lifts the piece from the merely very good to the extraordinary. This central section is flanked by passages for deeper voicess while the final fughetta after 'But the word of the Lord endureth forever' is announced by the (in)famous dramatic dominant seventh chord of E flat on full organ. (Saturday Chorale)
It is beautifully performed here by the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral, conducted by Andrew Carwood with Simon Johnson on the organ. The treble soloist is Gabriel Ali.

Saint Paul outside the walls
St Paul's burial place
The apostle Paul was beheaded in the year 67, and his body was brought to a sepulchral area (and not an underground necropolis, as was the case with St. Peter). The burial place was already venerated in the first century when a Cella Memoriae - a small memorial building - was erected here.
