Our video is a guided walk in the Ribble Valley of Lancashire where J.R.R. Tolkien got his inspiration for his books Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.We start from Hurst Green and follow the River Ribble and River Hodder. We pass Hacking Hall (Brandy Hall) family home of Merry Brandybuck, one of Frodo's companions. We visit Cromwell's Bridge (Brandywine Bridge) and then on to Stonyhurst College. Allow 2 hours for this easy, flat 6 mile walk. The scenery is outstanding.

Cromwell Bridge nr Hurst Green, Ribble Valley. Regular Tolkien haunt and by the Tolkien Trail.
King Creosote - Middle Earth Beer Festival - Hurst Green, Lancashire
A short walk along the Ribble Way near Stonyhurst in the Ribble Valley Lancashire
The walk starts at the juction of the B6243 Whalley Road and Knowles Brow in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. At the start there are lovely views of River Hodder and Stonyhurst College. Continuing on the walk you pass Winkley Hall and walk through Winkley Farm. Just after this the River Hodder and River Ribble meet, walking along side the River Ribble Hacking Hall can be seen on the opposite side and the River Calder joins the Ribble. You walk along the river for about half a mile until you come to a path leading away from the river follow this path back to the B6243 passing a lodge on the way.
Along this walk there are good views of Pendle Hill, Longridge Fell and Whalley in the distance. This is a very flat simple walk ideal for walkers starting walking again after illness or injury. Can be muddy in parts.

A fly-by video of Owens Walk; a circular walk visiting Knowle Green, Dutton & Stydd from the Roman village of Ribchester in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. This walk links the old communities from 18th and 19th Century Lancashire navigating Cowley Brook which supported many mills along its short length before we return to Ribchester via Stydd.

Hodder Bank Fell | A Forest of Bowland Walk | Lancashire | United Kingdom.
This is a short video taken of a walk in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in land owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, Lancashire, North of England, UK. The walk starts at Burholme Bridge close to the Whitewell Hotel in Whitewell. It goes through Burholme Farm and over the top of Hodder Bank Fell and then drops down to Dunsop Bridge passing Giddy Bridge and Knowlemere Manor. It then follows the banks of the RIver Hodder passing Langden Brook back through Burholme Farm and finishing back at Burholme Bridge. and the film was taken on Monday 23rd April 2018.
