My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

From Verona to Jerusalem: the high-reliefs of the Via Crucis blessed by the Pope are placed on the Via Dolorosa
They weigh 15 kilos each and on Sunday 6th October they were positioned along the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem. They are the nine tiles with the high-reliefs of the Via Crucis, made by the Fonderia Artistica Bmn Arte and sculpted by Alessandro Mutto, which Pope Francis blessed on 21st September in the Clementine Hall in the Vatican.
It was the Apostolic Nuncio, Mons. Leopoldo Girelli, who presided the Via Crucisand blessed the new stations on the walls along the “Via Dolorosa in the Old City of Jerusalem. The celebration ended with the blessing of the last five tiles at the Church of the Convent of St Saviour, which will then be placed in the Franciscan Chapel in the Holy Sepulchre.
This significant moment, which will be celebrated by many pilgrims who come to follow in the last steps of Jesus Christ, was followed by the Celebration of the Eucharist presided by the Custos of the Holy Land, Fr. Francesco Patton. During his homily, the Custos thanked the sculptor Alessandro Mutto, the representatives of the FonderiaArtisticaBmn Arte, the Diocese of Verona and the Committee that was set up several years ago to accomplish this common desire of having a figurative Via Crucis in Jerusalem. Fr. Patton explained the importance of the Via Crucissaying that it “helps us understand that it is real and authentic, only life given for Love, And it reminds us that he who gives his life for love already takes part in the victory of Jesus over death. For this, we are grateful to those who conceived and made this Via Crucis and who have given it to our beloved city of Jerusalem. May Our Lord Jesus, who was the first to walk down it, support our steps on the way of the Cross which is the way of Life.
This work is the continuation of collaboration which started in 2003, with the creation of an Association, which constructed the “Gate of Peace”: the bronze-colored gate which connects the Basilica of St Catherine with the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem, showing the scenes of the birth of Jesus. During the days when the “Gate of Peace” was inaugurated, following a visit to Jerusalem, the Fonderia management began to think of a work to donate to the Holy City. In our opinion, it needed something that reflected what people have always seen in their imagination,” commented Roberto Brizzi, the founder of the FonderiaArtisticaBmn Arte, we only did what a normal person would like to see. This dream had tormented us for twenty years and at last today it has come true.
The work of the sculptor Alessandro Mutto lasted eight months, saying that he had to study a great deal before going on to the actual work. I thought of stepping into the shoes of an onlooker of two thousand years ago,” the sculptor said, and “seeing these scenes as though I were passing through those places by chance, I tried to step into the shoes of the characters to use their attitudes, especially the expressions on their faces. I had to work in miniature, with modeling clay, trying to work on all the times at the same time, in order not to risk making a mistake with the proportions.”

ROZET ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANT IN JAFFA ISRAEL
jaffa restaurants;travel to tel aviv;Restaurant tel aviv
Coffee Shops Cafe
Address MARZUK and AZAR, Jaffa
Phone No: 03-5166477
There is a restaurant in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, that we would say is one of the best.
There are few restaurants nearby, but this one we found the best. It is wide enough to walk freely through it, the food was more than delicious, and the staff that was responsible for our fine impression was non-intrusive, neat and in good mood also! These are some of the most important things if you ask me.WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD IN ROZET RESTAURANT
My favorite question… I have been to many Jaffa restaurants, but if I would be a tourist traveling to Tel Aviv and would have to choose where to try the must-try food in Jaffa, I would surely end here, in Rozet. Here is some of the enjoyment of my morning in this Rozet restaurant:
ZAATAR PITA
Zaatar is the well-known mixture of spices in Israel, it is popular for seasoning meat and flat bread. You can buy it mixed and packed in many kosher stores and the stores that sell Middle East food. Pita is the piece of soft flatbread, and by combining those two, Zaatar and Pita, you get the most delicious breakfast or dinner, Zaatar Pita.
It is a must-try food if you come to visit Israel. It is very simple to make and the flavor is fantastic, but only if you choose the right restaurant, as it is Rozet.
SAVORY PASTRIES
They serve also excellent savory pastries, with or without cheese or other filling, and many more. You should come and try the perfect place that we have verified by having a perfect morning there.
Of course, the salads were prepared at the moment they served us our breakfast. If we were looking at it, we could have seen the preparation.
COFFEE
There is more than enough light, because it is mostly in glass, and there are tables outside as well. According to the weather here, we had our breakfast outside. The tables are widely set. Every table has its own comfort. And the coffee was special too, as it is in real-quality coffee shops in Tel Aviv, or elsewhere.
ROZET – JAFFA, TEL AVIV, ISRAEL
The place a tourist must see
What I have seen there, is that Rozet restaurant is a very large place, that seriously can serve and successfully accommodate a lot of guests, but on the other hand, it provides originality of historically recognized place, as well as pleasant experience and politeness altogether.
Rozet restaurant in Jaffa is placed near the Jaffa clock tower, one of the seven clock towers in Israel, that was built in the period of the Ottoman’s Kingdom. That is the center of Jaffa, and around the clock tower, there are several historical monuments placed, so the restaurants, cafes and hotels there are working well, the visitors pass through that part of town in a large number. There is flea market nearby, a great tourist attraction, as well. What you can find and see here, is not possible to describe in these few words. But for one, I am sure:
Everything’s fine, but Rozet is special.
The address of the Rozet restaurant is: Marzouk and Azar, Jaffa, Tel Aviv
There is a roundabout few minutes far from restaurant, and you can get there by buses as well, because many lines pass through Marzouk and Azar. You certainly will not forget it. הירשמו לערוץ שלנו לקבלת המלצות לטיולים בארץ אונליין :
